Now Indy is linked to Baker Mayfield, if the rumors are, in fact, true. I am not a fan of this possibility. Mayfield just had probably his worst season, just as Wentz did when the Colts traded for him. Indy will have to give up more draft picks, and Mayfield is still recovering from a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. The Colts are truly desperate if they do trade for him.

All you pony fans have to be sad that my man Mitch trubisky is off the market.
Eh, I wish him the best of luck. I don't like to see any well-behaving player bust, but it happens unfortunately. Hopefully he can play well with his new team.
I expected Indy not to make much noise yet, but at least they signed Alie-Cox.

Do not disagree.
The best ability, is availability.
I would say "put me in coach!" but unfortunately I'm still nursing a pretty bad ankle injury that I suffered back in November.

Injury prone w/o stats to support he is a worthy nfl starter. Next.
If he can ever resume his NFL sophomore form, in which he passed for 26 TDs, 9 INTs, 3426 yards, a 61% completion rate, and rushed for 349 yards and two TDs, he will be a great signing. That's IF he can stay healthy, and I don't see that happening. He is a very good talent, but could never stay healthy.

Weird. Then why wasn't he?
A multitude of nagging injuries. He had a hamstring issue in 2015. He fractured his fibula in 2016.
Here's a list of injuries that I found from his 2018 season:
He dealt with an ulnar nerve issue, which gave him a tingly throwing hand. He suffered a neck stinger against the Colts in Week 11 and re-injured it in Week 16 against the Redskins. That second instance was why he couldn’t play in Week 17. He sustained a cracked vertebra. His plantar fascia had a significant tear during the season, which escalated into a full tear in Week 16. He had a strained oblique. He suffered a broken rib. And finally, he dealt with a sprained AC shoulder joint. That's seven injuries that he played with in one season.
In 2020 he suffered a pectoral injury that kept him out for five games. In 2021 he missed a month with a quad injury.
He's as tough as they come, but hopefully the Colts won't offer him anything more than a one year "prove-it" deal and draft a rookie or sign another proven backup. I personally wouldn't sign him because he's far too injury prone, and I consider myself to be a fan of his.

I think we are on the same page.....and your last sentence aligns with my original thought. When trying to attract a FA QB, MAC will not excite a QB. Perhaps the same for Doyle, but he was considered a long-term solid performer at this position. Today, Colts have Cox and the 1 year player out of SMU. (forgetting his name)
I believe the lack of a proven LT and no established speedy #1 receiver would be the biggest concerns for a big name QB, assuming the Colts had something to offer their teams.
Granson is the other TE. The Colts still have time to find those starters in free agency and the draft, although I doubt that Ballard will sign a top FA, to a multi year deal, at either of those positions given his track record.

Do you think the former college basketball player turned TE would be a starter for most NFL teams?
Not saying he isn't experienced or doesn't have talent....but is he seen as a true #1 across the league?
We will see if the Colts even re-sign him though.

If he keeps improving, yes. PFF has him as the 26th ranked TE out of 70. His ceiling is probably 500-600 yards receiving, but I do remember the Colts staff raving about his blocking several years ago. He's not going to make any QBs salivate, but he's also not a liability either.

I totally agree....how does one attract an existing solid QB without a starting LT, lack of a speedy #1 receiver, and now no experienced TE? Not to mention what do the Colts offer? They have been hammered giving up draft picks...nothing this year in the 1st round and is giving up more future 1st round picks the answer? What can they offer to get a Jimmy G or D. Carr? Very little unless they offer up their current few studs.
Andrew Luck retiring has left a huge hole that will continue to haunt the Colts for years to come.....
Mo Alie-Cox is experienced at TE with seven starts last season, plus he's still youngish and improving.

Your post literally proves my point how clueless some of you are. I provided his stats that proved he executed. It is a team game. He doesn't tackle, punt, kick, play special teams, etc.
Most important, he is a steadfast Christian.
Super Bowl Champion too.
But please, keep going....
Here are some stats for you. According to Pro Football Reference, Wentz had ZERO game winning drives or 4th quarter comebacks last season. He was also ranked 26th out of 31 QBs in on target percentage, and 25th in bad throw percentage. 18.8% of his passes were bad throws. Zach Wilson was the worst in the league at 23.8%, while Joe Burrow was the best at 10.7%.
I'm really not sure what religion has to do with being either a good football player or a good QB. It must be important to you though.
I was in the camp that Wentz was playing well, due to his TD/INT ratio, but after digging deeper I realized that the ratio doesn't tell the entire story.

The answer to whom the Colts' next starting QB will be won't have an easy answer.
Veterans - Fitzpatrick, Foles, Bridgewater, Winston, and Mariota. Fitzpatrick is too old and is nothing more than a stop gap. Foles has never really been a full time starter. Bridgewater is average at best, but also isn't a long term solution. Winston possibly presents the best upside, but he has never been very accurate and makes far too many bad decisions. Mariota reminds me a bit of Carson Wentz. He will continue to intrigue teams due to his pre-injury history, but don't be fooled.
Young with potential - Trubisky. There are some that think that maybe Trubisky just wasn't a fit in Chicago and that he can flourish in a different system and with new coaches. He might be worth a flyer for the right price, but I doubt that he will come cheap. The Colts should stay away unless they can sign him for a cheap, one year prove it deal, laced with incentives. I would stay away.
Familiar with the system - Brissett. This might end up happening, barring Indy giving up precious draft capital for Garoppolo or Carr.
Draft. There aren't any 2nd or 3rd round QBs that I feel that the Colts should take, unless one drops to them. If the Colts do plan on taking a rookie passer in the 2nd round, I highly recommend signing one of the top free agents as well.

Great sports programs at Pioneer. They could make a case for best in the state pound for pound.
Oh definitely, especially the girl's volleyball, basketball, and softball programs. They probably are, pound for pound, the best public school athletically in the state in the last 10 years, definitely in the last 5.

Pioneer has a very successful program and was, in the past ten years, in the bottom 20 of enrollment for the entire state. The enrollment is now in the top 20 for 1A. 35% of the Jr/Sr HS receives free lunches, while 98% of the elementary enrollment receives free lunches.

Culver, Pioneer, NJSP and Winamac all win pretty handily. As Fine Print mentioned above though, the gap seems to be shrinking between the top and bottom tier teams
I like Culver by a TD, Pioneer by 3 TDs, LaVille by a TD, NJ by 21, and Winamac wins by 50+.

I really liked the QB change for Pioneer. Basic exchange issues seemed to be taken care of. Pioneer will win their sectional if they can stay healthy.

Many of the long term posters here, especially those from the old MWC and HNAC, remember MightyJones, real name Kreigh Hook, and his on again off again status on this website. Kreigh hasn't been on here much lately but is still active on the John Harrell forum. We can all attest to the fact that he is Winamac's biggest fan and has been a member of the Warrior basketball program as a statistician for the past decade.
Kreigh has had a very rough year. In the past few months he not only lost his mother to cancer, but he also lost his house to a fire on the night of August 27th, which he, coincidentally, found out about after Winamac had defeated Pioneer to hand the Panthers their first HNAC loss. His house had been in his family for roughly 175 years and he lost everything but his mom's ashes in it.
Mr. Hook needs your help and has set up a GoFundMe page. Anything that you can give will help Mr. Hook out. Thank you.

Pioneer has 6 turnovers already. Both of Scecina's scores came on short drives following turnovers.

Pioneer vs Cass was canceled due to outbreaks at Cass. Pioneer is looking for a week 1 opponent.

Elwood/Lapel. Now Wabash is at Lapel 8/20, so Maconaquah must have cancelled their game at Wabash on that date.
I've heard that Maconaquah has moved to E-learning due to a large outbreak in the high school.

Agreed. Some will argue that Brees suffered the same injury in San Diego, but I'm not gonna bet on lightning striking twice.
