West Lafayette, Columbus Hartley, Toledo Whitmer, Coldwater OH, Chatard? It won't be hard to find an opponent that will "better" them.

No doubt Snider and Dwenger are on a collision course this year................probably twice. 5a will have it's hands full with the winner of this game. Both programs looking good going into this season..

    Agree, 100%

Wouldn't hurt the feelings of most fans affiliated with Snider. In fact, it would probably increase attendance. If Snider played Penn.................. only Dwenger, Carroll, or Homestead would match the attendance that the Kingsman would bring. Maybe Luers if they were having an "up" year. More Snider fans will travel to Penn than attend a game against South Side. More interesting matchups will bring higher attendance. South fans will probably show up to see their team be competitive against Belmont versus coming out to watch them get squashed by Snider or Dwenger. Let's face it, attendance has been DEAD in recent seasons. It's time to mix things up and try something different.

I just don't know if Snider could pull off the "independent" status, year after year, etc. As they are one of the best programs in the state, I question if it is sustainable.. Could they schedule a few SAC teams (Dwenger, Homestead, Carroll, maybe Luers every year) then do a indy  area team or two, Penn and then fill out with a team or two from MI and/or OH. I would expect travel would kill, need booster support, is that allowed??

You have a lineman who is 6' foot and weighs 225lb. He can bench 270 and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.4. You have another lineman who is 5' 10" tall weighs 180. He can bench 190 lbs. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7. Which lineman would you want to play first?

    O line or D line?

    If O, G or T. If D is it a 3-4 or 4-3 set?

Not enough info to answer question.

A discussion has begun with the the SAC ADs and football coaches about considering a division based Football conference. The idea: Create  more chances for schools to schedule outside of Fort Wayne to better to prepare them for tournament play or to give other a chance to schedule competition more at their level.  I had along talk with a SAC AD about this at the holiday tournament and here is the idea

Schools will play two open dates, the four in their league as, plus two schools from the other league. On school will be a "locked" opponent (BD and BL ex.) and one will rotate every two years. On the last week of the regular season. You will play whomever is the the at them same place from the other division. (First vs First, Last vs Last ) With home field or neutral location to be discussed

    Big School

    Snider, Northrop, Carroll, Homestead, BD

    Small School

    North, South, Wayne, Concordia, BL

Sample schedule: 2020 for Big Schools

    Snider                                         Northrop                       Carroll                              BD                                Homestead

    Open                                           Open                                  Open                           Open                               Open

    Open                                          Open                                    Open                          Open                              Open

Carroll                                          BD                                      Snider                        Northrop                    North- Rotation

Homestead                                Carroll                              Northrop                     South -Rotation         Snider

BD                                                 Homestead                    BL- Rotation               Snider                         Northrop

North- Locked                           Concordia- Locked                    BD                     Carroll                         Wayne - Locked

Wayne- Rotation                      BL - Rotation                South- Locked             Homestead                          BD

    Northrop                                      Snider                              Homestead              BL-Locked                     Carroll

SAC Playoff                                SAC Playoff                     SAC Playoff             SAC Playoff                   SAC Playoff

Personally, I love it, I do think you would miss some of the more traditional every year games. But  I do think it gives school such as South, North and Northrop to put Ws on the board, which can make those programs better. What do the Members of the GD think?

I had this idea 2-3 years ago.

A few quick questions regarding the GC program?

What are the primary components of the overall strategy to get this program up off the mat and heading back in the right direction?

Is there any football talent currently in the school?

Is program awareness in the halls growing as a result of the coaching change?

Have you had an opportunity to assess the feeder and youth systems?

Will you be making any changes to the uniforms?

What are your initial goals for the program?

    Is the community involved?

Is the administration following thru on the commitments they made to support the program rebuild?

Is GC planning on remaining in the HHC for the long term?

What was it that drew you to this opportunity?

    Looking forward to your responses.

What does this have to do with the thread topic ??? You should receive a few demerits for that post.

Love how everyone thinks NFL players have extra money.  Jaylon is still in his rookie contract.  It has a cap on it. They don't make that much. When he becomes a free agent then he will have more in his bank account.

Yea, I forgot how hard it is for those to live off a million or two for 3-4 years. It's not forget about all those endorsements, that likely adds a few million.

Years ago, money for Luers field was raised by such things as bingo.  Donations have helped with some improvements over the years (the track, for example), but the care of the field turf has always been done by a volunteer group of Luers Dads.  Some  nostalgia may be involved.  A major capital campaign has been going for a number of years now to improve the school building.  Field turf is probably low priority.  However, if a donor wanted to donate for just turf, they won't turn that person down

Jaylon could step up and donate a fraction of his $, Just saying.

I would be extremely surprised if Lafayette Jeff and Zionsville are paired together. That would mean Zionsville goes to the north of 6A. Which of these teams then would you put in the south because someone would have to go:

    Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville, Fishers, HSE.

There isn't a CHANCE that the IHSAA puts Carmel in the south. And if Carmel isn't going south, it wouldn't make much sense for Westfield to go south. The IHSAA also won't split up Fishers and HSE (who, if in the north, I see being paired with the 2 Fort Wayne teams). That leaves Noblesville as the final team. So you're going to but Noblesville in the south? No way that is happening.

Zionsville will 100% be placed in 6A South.

Yea, no way the IHSAA puts Camel in the south and risk not having an all MIC state title game.
