For the love of God please don't turn this into a discussion or rant for either side. (Wishful thinking that won't happen)
Simple question, of your students and players placed in quarantine for contact tracing, exposure, or whatever you want to call it, how many actually came down with the virus?
At Heritage Christian it was around 20 put on house arrest, and zero came down with the virus.

We've talked a lot about it within our staff. There is no teeth to anything the health departments say. We should just ignore it.

For some reason it won't let me edit my previous post, but if the meme offends you because you don't feel it takes the situation seriously enough, I get that, but it says nothing about death rate in the pic, that's all.
If you're referring to me, no. Not offended at all. Its a cartoon. Of course it was referring to survival rate.

You tried to insult me. You don't have common sense. I will try to explain it to you..... Please read S...L...O...W...L...Y... ask a smart person around you to explain it if you still can't.
328,000,000 is the US population. 155,000 is the deaths (at this point) So any one American's chance of death currently is .047%
I didn't throw any numbers around. I was simply explaining where the number came from. Try to be better.
27 minutes ago, Plymouthfan91 said:Wrong! Bad math. 330,000,000 people haven't gotten sick. You can't include people who haven't gotten sick yet as The current U.S. number is 4,473,974 cases and 151,499 deaths. This is per the CDC. 151,499/4,473,974 is 3.38% death rate. Now using YOUR 328,000,000 number of US residents and they if they all get sick we will see 9,840,000 deaths. You can't throw numbers around and not understand what you are saying. I hope you aren't a math teacher.
7 minutes ago, wabashalwaysfights said:Not to nitpick, mainly because it ultimately doesn't matter anyway, but the meme says nothing about death rate. It says "...99.98% of us will remain." The number is still incorrect, but to not because of "bad math" related to death rate as you suggest.
True. It's probably an older meme.

Again with this number. Where does it come from? The only person publicly to say it was POTUS. He then goes on to endorse Dr. Stella Immanuel. I guess when you want the numbers t oback your facts you will get them from anywhere you can.
It is actually 99.53 %. 155,000 deaths / 328,000,000 = 0.00047 .047%

Correct me if I'm wrong Roncalli folks. Aren't they called the Rebels after a pope?

I am the all time world wide leader in page views on The GID. You cant help but be an influencer when you have that kind of outreach.
Influenced? I doubt it.
Annoyed? Absolutely.

A player of mine has been invited to play in the Hawaii Tiki Bowl.
Are there any coaches out there who have had a player participate in this game?
What are your thoughts on this game?
It will be a really fun time. Expensive. But fun. I know the Georgetown staff well and they are great coaches, as I'm sure the rest of the small school coaches are. My opinion is that other than the schools the coaching staffs represent, this will do little or nothing to improve their college playing resume. It will be a great experience.

If everyone ignored the continual obnoxious posts about denying student athletes and communities football programs based on poor performance, would the posts go away and eventually die out?

This is an entertaining thread. It's also nonsense. New(er) programs St. Francis, Marian, and Indiana Wesleyan have done much more to "kill" small college football in Indiana than IU is doing this year. Those teams have taken 300+ players that could have ended up on the state's D-III teams. Add Mike Leonard at Franklin to that list. They were so good most of the years during his tenure that he dominated in-state recruiting. Wabash and DePauw have also killed small schools because they have so much tradition that the others can't compete in recruiting. We can't forget Butler and Valpo. They get non-scholarship players to play Division-I football. How are the small schools to compete with that?
I'm only partly joking. As a famous talk radio host says, I'm "Demonstrating absurdity by being absurd." The fact is that there is zero impact to small college football in the state by Tom Allen and staff offering a bunch of PWOs. Not all those kids are taking them either

An elite offense and a defense with a pulse is what it takes to win a championship in modern football...
“Defense wins championships” is the most outdated idiom in professional sports.
Look at what the Chiefs are doing...
Look at who’s playing for the national championship tomorrow night...
Stop me when I start lying...
Not sure you're lying, but I think you're wrong. The score of last year's super bowl was 13-3. The "elite" offense couldn't muster a touchdown. I'm confident in saying that defense won that championship.

Why aren't public schools holding open houses? Especially if they are participating in open enrollment? Our SB magnet programs hold open houses so, by your insinuation, the 4 SB schools should be state champs.
They do.

That is with only playing 2 Quarters in most games the last 2 years
Also includes games like the regional (I coach for HCS) which he was virtually a non factor. Not because he isn't an outstanding QB but because all he needed to to was hand off.

The IHSAA needs to give a penalty similar to the Southport Basketball team, if not worse.
While I agree this is an awful case and IF all true, there should be numerous consequences. This is something the IHSAA I believe should (and will) leave to their member schools.

I know of absolutely no "protocol" for filming. As the home team your there first. Set it up. Or have your athletic director draw up a map and tell the visitors where they are allowed to put their camera. I don't intend to mock you but no team should have to wait to see where the home team sets up. When it comes to end zone film what difference does it make? I believe what you are calling protocol is actually a pet peeve.

It goes back to last seasons games for a portion of the season. (I think the last 9 but I'm not sure.).

If this were 1985, every major college program in the country would be lined up at the door. But he's projected as a fullback - a position few college teams use anymore. Charlie is faster than he looks. If he goes to West Point, he'll thrive in their offense (and set himself up for life with a great education and a career as an officer in the military). Wherever he goes, he'll be a critical player for them.
I watch every Army game. If he chooses West Point, he'll be a star. While his skill set and speed may translate (and some don't think it will) to a major college spread team, his skill set is unquestionably perfect for Army.

If the school doesn't sign off it is 365 days of last competition for varsity only. Except in extreme cases transfers can at least play JV. We had a transfer that was not signed off on one season. He broke is are in week two at his previous school. He became eligible for us for varsity 365 days later.

For all you young folks.... When ESPN started it Aussie Rules was basically the only team sport regularly shown. Use to watch it all the time. If it were to catch on it has to get in line before some other up and coming sports.
Why is Richmond not in the EIAC?
