Just the tip of the iceberg. Starting QB Adams (who has committed to D1 James Madison) is a Battle Ground product. You clearly didn't read the J and C's article before the Jeff-WL football game this season, where it clearly laid out that Adams and Jeff's Maximus Grimes were the starting QBs of Battle Ground's 8th and 7th grade teams. Bet Harrison is pretty okay with losing both those kids.

    Edited for correct college.

How many members of the current West Lafayette football team actually reside in the Lafayette Jeff, McCutcheon, or Harrison geographical school districts?

  3. I love the idea that a Tipton loss will send them into slow time to take on an old rival. Ahhh the good old days, when Tipton people get all up in arms about RC making it further in the state tournament. Tipton fans getting their underpants in a wad over a late touchdown scored by an Ahler kid. Let's put some gas on the fire!

I'll say this. As long as everyone is healthy after the next game between them(this meaning Cass can keep from getting upset by HH), I can't see it doing anything but making the Kings a better team for the tournament. This goes for any team that has had to play WL this year. Other than maybe Western who i don't think even played WL, the conference isn't going to see a team of that size and speed in the tournament all the way to LOS. So for players to see it and play against it, it elevates your game if you accept the challenge which from the only two games I saw, Cass and RC, they did. Were they both blowouts yes but there are always positives you can take away from losses, especially regular season.

Guess what! You will probably get to do it again next week. What a fun time had by all.

  5. Now we’re rolling!

I don’t think there’s ever been a visiting team on the lower total of penalties when visiting Tipton.

I don’t care if Cass did take a conservative approach because they lost lineman. Sounds to me like Cass will take the conservative approach this week too in the hopes of winning the conference title 2 weeks later.

My prediction is 45-7 this week. Week 9 will all depends on who WL draws in the sectional. If they draw Chatard it’ll be a closer game to protect guys. If it’s Crawfordsville, North Mont or Hamilton Heights, it’ll be about the same.

I have no doubt Cass puts 21-28 points on the board.

I haven't seen this much delusion since puff thought North Daviess could run the ball on LCC  in 2009. Cass scored 28 on Pioneer, I can tell you Pioneer and WL defensively are not on the same playing field. If Cass scores 28 it'll be in garbage time against WL 3rd string.

  7. The two schools don't have a JV game scheduled tonight because BC was playing 5-6 JVers Friday night. I'd imagine the offer was made to cancel the rest of the game varsity game and play a JV game Monday since it's suppose to be about the young kids at that point. That seems to have been a NO GO for RDP since starters were scoring mid 3rd quarter. But hey, Chicks dig the long ball!

  8. Mother Nature left her mark last week. Glad to see Coach Fry and Company felt it was necessary to continue their game Saturday morning after they had already reached the running clock point with 8 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. I am sure everyone got better that morning, one thing is for sure RDP's stats look better. After the LCC-TL game we will know the lineup from the west division. Tipton and Western still need to battle it out in the east next week. Cass-WL is just a warmup to an 8 quarter battle they will have unless HH can pull off a minor miracle next week.

  10. Love and hate the blind draw.

LCC is starting to find it's identity under this young coaching staff. Since week 1, the staff has moved kids around to get less 2 way players and I believe it's been working pretty well. LCC this year has a good mix of Experience and youth playing. Lost a starting freshman guard vs WL to a spiral fracture. The players just need to develop the mentality to bring it from the start to the finish.

With a Western win, then if Tipton can pull up an upset over Western. The East becomes super interesting.

  13. Sadly, this season much like last season seems to be WL's to lose. I am interested to see the air show Friday on the short turf. Quite a way to open up the home season for LCC.

What does everyone like about their team and dislike so far this year.

For LCC, I love the way the defense has been playing against the run. We have some work to do in the secondary which is a scary thought with WL two 6'4+ WR coming in this Friday. Offensively, we are improving every week. Our Sophomore QB has a lot of tools, but in only his 3rd year of playing QB needs to work on decision making and stepping into the throws.
