This is something that Muda needs to know about. He most likely will have an explanation for or be able to delve into this and come up with an answer. He’s pretty much the brains on this kind of issue.

The makings of a ot game, lions favored at East Noble. Hmmm….
prediction- Kendallville

This will chess match for the coaches. We’ll see who gets it done.

I agree with both here. With out a consistent running attack this year, they will die on the vine depending on their QB to throw. Indiana has a decent Defense this year, but they cant be as effective if they are out on the field all the time.
Indiana will have to have the whole play book ready against Cincinnati. It was obvious last saturday ,playing Idaho, Indiana didnt want to give the Bearcats any film to look at. I also think this is a pressure game for the Hoosiers. They have to show up here.

I know several 20-35 year olds that act more like 16-18 year olds.
But regardless, of age, I still call my off spring “my children “ so according to the definition they really are just my off spring.-

I think the Saints vs Carroll game will definitely give us a clue on if Bishop Dwenger is going to have something for R. Nelson. And who might advance in post season.

Jasper could lay an egg this season, you hope if it happens is in the regular season and not the tournament. But MD is having a good season, and at home? So hopefully a good game for everyone.

Completely agree on the benefits of building a strong schedule. It'll be interesting to see how much better they are for it in the weeks ahead. However, a schedule like that can be detrimental if you don't come out of it healthy, especially for a team that lacks depth like this year's Chatard team. From what I hear, Chatard did not come out of that four week stretch unscathed. Hopefully they can get healthy by sectionals.
I'm looking at Memorial as a dark horse (can you call a team of EM's caliber a dark horse?) in 4A. They are always well coached, have tons of experience, and it sounds like they are getting better each week. I don't know anything about Jasper this year other than what has been said on this board, but it's going to be VERY difficult to beat Memorial twice in the same season.
Tony Lewis is a fine coach.

The mental game of coaching is over half the battle and if you can keep your kids believing in the process after the month that Chatard had, you have done one hell of a job. They instantly become the most interesting team in the state for me to watch for the next two months.
From a coach that won 3 NCAA championships. “The mental to the physical, is as four is to one”

I was comparing just Jasper with Northviews strength of schedule, if this is what you are alluding to in you comment.

They could have only 1 loss heading into sectionals. Their sectional is pretty tough with the SIAC schools and they are still looking for their first sectional title ever.
Yes in the south it looks like Jasper maybe the pick to meet Northview. Strength of schedule definitely goes to Jasper or the south squad that makes it out of that area. Then it gets harder for both.
-
If this isn’t the game of the week, it should be. Two good and well conditioned teams, capable of playing for a championship. Out of the north.
-
One team that maybe needs to be mentioned on the list is Northview. Mark Raetz has a squad that has been hammering people. A test this Friday against an undefeated Owen Valley team, will give us a better read on both of these newbees on top of their conferences.
-
Was not my intention, but your suggestion is a lot better! By the way, what about that? The hawks D has taken it up a notch or two this year. And with that in mind, the offense doesn't need to do too much to win the game.
Indiana should be taking notes.

So today is when it all starts. IU’s rise to the top. The great step up in talent and the depth to go along with it. This is it! Coaches can’t get in the way any more, the Hoosier Train is ready to roll.

Give them their due sure but they are the same guys who lost to castle at home in the sectional and I just never thought they were as good as they are advertised.
If I’m not mistaken , I think it’s the same Castle team that kicked the hell out of Bloomington south in the sectional the week before. 28-0.

This game kind of mirrored the IU/ Iowa game. South scored real quick and North kind of shut down, never recovered. Second half, they played even but the game essentially was over. Not sure why you don’t think Lonzano is impressive? He has an offer from Indiana State in the fold.
Your assessment of Bloomington South has some merit, but I think it’s the coaches who are responsible for the mental approach to the game. I’m not going to assume Gabe Johnson is going to be a great coach.
Why I picked North to win this one? Umm….. well 2 years ago at South I think north won , then last year Bloomington South was given a gift and got the game into overtime ,after they were down 20 points-and won on an error by the north team. Not an expert here ,and it didn’t play into why I pick north, but I think all the pickems had North a slight favorite. But good call, you had something to base your pick on but In wasn’t recent history. -
So , all the talk here on the Bloomington teams seems to center on both defenses. Yielding lots of yardage to soso teams.
unless there is a big turnaround, we could see scores in the 30’s or more tonight.
I’m going to take the underdog tonight, North. It is always a tight game. -
Do you think special teams are more important than defense or offense ? I don’t. They are all equal.
To be successful you have to platoon in high school. Let alone college.
No way can a team only use 11-14 players and go deep into a championship. -
I can’t disagree with you guys. But I have no confidence in this team, including last year, and the program over all. The team is quirky and has been for several years. There has very little consistency. The only consistency is the rotation of coaches every year starting in the Wilson era. Winning 6 or 7 is about what the team is capable of right now this season, and I don’t think there is any correlation from last year.
I think they can win about as much as I think they can lose. -

THN had 20 penalties for 188 yards. BL. South had 8. North had a chance to win but the penalties were crippling.
Yes on this. I'm not too impressed with Bloomington south so far this year. They better have more than what they've showed so far this year, if they want to beat The North Cougars.

I think it’s more that BNL played a complete game.
Now that’s a mouthful! The Stars? Think they can win another?

They sure are, can’t wait for their matchups against Castle and Mater Dei!
Tony Lewis, I think we need to get an Interview with Tony. What a job he is doing at Jasper

Ok, man Jasper is making a name in the conference.
