As the landscape moves more and more toward 3-4 major power conferences, how does this ultimately impact the low or non-revenue generating sports?  As distances continue to increase between schools, how does this fair toward sports such as wrestling, swimming, gymnastics, etc.?  For example, the only school in the SEC that has wrestling is Missouri and that program competes in the MAC.

Actually, Missouri is back in the Big 12 with OSU ,Iowa state, okla. and the rest. For wrestling only.

You would not want KU basketball in the Big Ten?

No thanks, the school has nothing else to offer. No wrestling , soccer, swimming, all the sports that big ten schools excel in and are known for. Football  at Kansas ?

I think of them when I talk about what I would like to see happen. I know it never will, but do feel it should. If East Allen would consolidate into one, MAYBE two high schools, they could go in with the larger SAC schools, along with Warsaw to form a new 5A/6A conference. Wishful thinking, I know.

New Haven ,at one time ,was considered a large school, before the classification started. Then Heritage was constructed in the late 60’s to alleviate the crowding. Instead of building a new building for NHHS.  Then to alleviate heritage h.s. crowding, Harding high was built. But the area of East Allen system is pretty vast maybe, for two schools.
im not sure about the area, size wise, covered by Warsaw high school in comparison.

Big Ten goes to 16 schools in new North - South Alignment

    North

    Nebraska /Iowa/Minnesota/Wisconsin/Northwestern/Michigan/Michigan State/Rutgers

    South

    Kansas/Iowa State/Illinois/Purdue/Indiana/Ohio State/Penn State/Maryland

    south

    Missouri/Iowa state/Illinois/Purdue/Indiana/Ohio St./Penn St./Maryland

Missouri and Iowa St. have varsity wrestling teams. This aligns with the rest of the conference.

The old tradition and quality goes back to Bloomington HS days. Also, Coach Enright had some very good teams at South before Mo took over. Remember 83?

Sure, and the youth football league was huge for the size of this town. Or for any sized city or town in the state ,for that matter.
The kids were ready tested-and could contribute immediately for coaches Dave and Myron.
That and Mo had a huge weight program before it was the thing to do to in Indiana football.
