So the IU student section chants that during a game vs. Eastern Michigan? And what exactly is the connection of "Hoosier Daddy" to Purdue University? I just don't find "Hoosier Daddy" the kind of pejorative that "IU Sucks" is.
Agreed, over the Keady era they seemed like they had that “little man” syndrome. Although they out performed Indiana in the Big Ten over those years, except the years IU was winning national championships.

What it really means is, the next Indiana Basketball coach, probably sooner than later, will have the largest contract in IU sports history.

But a prime example of 3 or 4 small High Schools being consolidated into one, stripping the small communities of their identity with these smaller schools.

Owen county is a single school county. Owen county High.
Have not been good in sports forever. They have several students participating inRodeo, a non IHSAA sport, and are quite good. -

Why doesnt CG have a stronger wrestling program? They are so strong in so many sports but never have seemed to have been a real power in wrestling, either at the team or individual level.
The same can be ask about Carmel.

When Adams County starts the one and only High School Wrestling Weekly radio show & podcast, that tells you where basketball falls. Especially when covering wrestling on the local radio is a priority and then they fit in the basketball games around the matches. Guess that's what happens when you have a historically powerful Bellmont wrestling program and then a decent in single class but stalwart in the new classed wrestling system in Adams Central, and South Adams making some appearances in the new classed system.
The real athletic sport.

Depends on what part of the state you are in. Basketball is second fiddle for winter sports in Adams County. That's just how it is.

Aside, isn’t Columbus East a 4a classed school, in student population.

Man , not being a rat, I’m in shock , with the awe you all are in ,with this hire. This pretty much puts the pressure button on the guy to perform, and perform quickly. I’ve seen this scenario before ,and it never seems to turn out the way everyone thinks it should. Good luck.

Again, we are talking about elevating the Crown Point football program. The new staff will not be satisfied sith an occasional DAC title and a sectional or even a regional. They will come out full guns blazing and start acting like a mega school with 3000 students.
What about Tampa bay quieting the roar at Green Bay? Defense wins championships.

I’m really not talking 5 or 4a or even the rest of the lower enrollments. Just 6a here. Granted ,Carroll is in an affluent area of town and has the money for top notch facilities, but that is just one of the steps to get to where Marion and surrounding counties are right now. Plus as Homestead and Carroll get better, do you think Marion schools are staying the same? It will be several years before you see any consistent challenge from The Fort or the reigon , in 6a.

The region schools and Allen county schools are so far behind, it won’t happen in my lifetime, Marion and surrounding counties own 6a for years to come. Keep enrollment to 5a and win championships.

I have not disagreed that we have struggled to compete, but your notion that we should be competing for conference titles is a criticism of the kids and/or the coaches, and an inaccurate one. And the fact is that we simply have not competed. You may want to check conference titles. It has ben more than one in the time you mention, including an NE8 Title; so yeah, I will question your credentials.
East Noble? They were a State runner up 2 seasons ago; who did compete with them before the playoffs or in the conference? How about you look at the schedule layout for the conference. East Noble sees every week of film from us because they follow us most of the season. They also have a week off for Fall break. They are a bigger program; especially up front, and in many cases by about 50 lbs a person. And that is year in and year out. But someone with the detailed criticisms you have SHOULD be able to see that.....hmmmm.
It really is not a matter of being content. We work with what comes to us. What good football programs are you thinking of with the comment?
I have one that I was close to and have followed a few since that have gotten to the top.
If it’s not contentness then maybe it’s know how, or can’t dedicate time? Again you keep referencing NHHS. So I’m not privy to that. Don’t want to get into any specific programs here , but in general discussion. -

And my comment really was directed to things that have more to do with the situation at NHHS than just on the field.
Ok, I was just iterating good “football programs” do it all now days, to stay relevant. Others are content to be mediocre, and if the schools are ok with that then this is ok also.

All of those things are factors. There are still others that were exaggerated and/or ignored that I will not get into here.
No ,what I’m saying is in general, nothing to do with NHHS situation, but being good at coaching and with the kids is not going to make a great program. These other leadership skills must be in place. A lot of good coaches never progress with a program because they don’t emphasize enough ,the other management requirements . They can’t be minimized and then expect to be a top program.
-
So what you are saying makes sense, it takes more than just a good coach to have a successful top to bottom program.
Good program, ie feeder system, middle school control, even peewee influence. This is what you are insinuating?

Nah, dual roles are common place , in a lot of big schools. For money. I’m thinking burned out.
