  1. Indeed and well said, this guy is snake bit, with the injury bug. W oW.
The OBVIOUS here is Indiana will have to try to run the ball at a higher rate than they have been. To ease our new guy into the offense.
Hopefully they have some success with that. If not, maybe Mr. Tuttle can be an extension of what got us this far , with our passing game.
I guess next weekend we will get to see the new sheriff in town operate.

Unless and UNTIL the Summit Athletic Conference sees itself as more than a 'feeder' for the lower classified schools that are also in the Conference; I would expect NOTHING to change, with respect to Football.  Decent records, gaudy numbers...early exits.  Upsets to teams they should obliterate.

I will again say, that the ONLY way the Northern 6A schools can establish themselves as anything other than 'roadkill' on the way to LOS for the schools nearer to Indianapolis, Is to form a Football only conference and play EACH OTHER!  From the Region to SB/Elkhart/Mishawaka to the Fort!  .

LOL, I will second this "feeder" comment for the declining SAC. It's been obvious for the last 4 or 5 years.

Good post DT. I agree with you on Elkhart, lots of upside there. They have to be the hands on favorite out of the north to compete with the Indy big dogs.

Don't expect much out of Northeast Indiana. Homestead seems to have their ceiling every year, which basically equates to a very good 5a team. Carroll loses some weapons and has yet to prove anything. They need to find out what Center Grove is doing. The Chargers have the community, the resources, the enrollment, and now an 8 millions dollar football stadium. When is this program going to play up to it's potential? Snider moves down to 5a even though they are on an uptick...........bad for 6a north.

I totally agree with this, northeast Indiana 6a is almost non existent ,as far as challenging the Indy metro area. Im going to say, its a shame, but  it is the same with 5a in the area. Nelson Snider is not the R. Nelson of old. Fart Wayne may see a little jump, off and on ,with the Saints, Knights or Cadets but they won't contend for state titles. Them days are over. There is just too many schools ,for the Allen County metro area population to have dominance in the state.

Baldwin is a freshman out of Virginia.

Early rumors are Penix is done with an Achilles tear.

Wow.  Can’t keep him ,Penix, from injuries.  But we have a very good defense. Without passing, I don’t see Indiana going too far. So is Tuttle up to the challenge?

If I’m webo, I do what I do best and run my workhorse in Taylor. Those blast and dive plays mixed with a play action to Garrity here and there should be the play book for the second half.

Sure, but in the end , they have to contain the pass and catch by the knights. Knights have the ability to score fast. Not so sure with the stars. So far it’s slow moving , but effective offense for them. Stars can’t catch up coughing up the ball .

And this is the reason Bill Mallory was relieved of the head coaching job at Indiana University, for you old timers on this site.

I can provide details if you are interested.

Well many many years ago Bill Mallory assembled a group of assistants after he left Ohio state. Where he was an assistant.  The offensive coordinator for Bill was George Belu. He also came from Ohio state. Thru all the years from Miami , Colorado ,northern Illinois and Indiana, Belu stayed with Bill Mallory. Before Mallory accepted the IU job, he said that this was to be his last coaching job. Bill had several loyal assistants but none as loyal as George. He had several opportunities to jump ship and lead his own program but stayed with All of Bills jobs.
Indianas success in the Mallory years did not satisfy the higher ups at Indiana, third or fourth in the conference was not the Rose Bowl. And their reasoning was that IU’s offense didn’t score enough points,10,13, and 16 points a game , although winning games, was not going to get the team to the Rose Bowl. They Liked Bill and wanted to renew his contract on the stipulation that he replace George Belu.  Run off right tackle, then run off left tackle then punt George as the saying goes. Or 4 yards and a cloud of dust, offense had to go.
I think everyone knows what happened, Bill Mallory’s loyalty to George caused his contract not to be extended.

The toughest kids we played against when I was in school were the Bishop Noll Warriors.  Rugged blue collar Catholic boys from Hammond, East Chicago, Whiting, Munster, Highland and into Illinois.

We played Noll in week 3, both teams coming in at 2-0 and it was billed as the biggest game in The Region on that Friday night.  We won 10-7 on our way to a 10-0 regular season record.  Our stadium at Highland High School was jam packed that night.  What a glorious evening and a wonderful memory.

This is a very heart warming memory DT, but there are people on here that don’t and anything to the threads, but hate. Kind of sad.
