Whoa! That took a sharp left turn. He was asking a question, not making a statement. I guess it's good just to be able to support a little ole 1A team in the middle of a cornfield and only have to travel 1 hour and 15 minutes to our most distant away game. Oh well, carry on. It's just a game.

  2. Good Luck to the Boilers in the B1G tourney except should IU make it to the finals. A real longshot for sure. Personally I think it will be an all Michigan final, but would love to see an all Indiana final.

I commend them for scheduling tough.  No reason not to test yourself under current Indiana rules, which for really good teams, render the regular season meaningless.

Exactly why Indiana needs a rule change to at least include seeding but should also not have everyone making the playoffs.

The age old question, how would you seed fairly? What would be the criteria for qualifying for the playoffs? We've been arguing it for years and still can't agree on a solution. Classes, clusters, public, private, etc. it's not fair to somebody. Still waiting on Moses to come down off the mountain with the commandments of fair play.

Man, that is harsh. Nobody needs to be in the meat grinder every week. That would be just stupid, especially in a state like Indiana, where the regular season means very little. Be nice to arrive at tournament time with at least some healthy players.

I agree with Bobref, perhaps they have found brutal is not conducive to being healthy when it comes to the playoffs. I personally admire them for testing themselves against the best competition. Just think they are fine tuning to get the most return on the investment.

So would it be OK for (insert your favorite team) to go 0-9 in the regular season and then run through the playoffs and win a championship? I think every school has fans that would be OK with that. Imagine a 1A school that plays 5A and 6A schools all year then handles everyone they meet on the way to celebrating at LOS. Worth it?

Since Penn and Hobart are named,   I will go  1. Penn  2. Ben Davis 3. Carmel  4 Snider 5 Dwenger 6 Chatard, 7 Hobart 8 Bloomington South 9 Warren Central 10 Merrillville

Are you counting Ben Davis and Chatard as south? He told us that 7 of the 10 are north schools. Also he told me that Warren Central which I had as #9 wasn't on the list. I still think you hit more than I did. 😊

  6. Is that light at the end of the tunnel? This is the right time for them to go on a run. 4 wins in a row and make some noise in the B1G tourney. Lord, do I dare get my hopes up?

Well, that took a long time.

Sorry, had to stop what I was doing and deal with other obligations. That said, welcome to the shiny new version 4.4 of Invision's software.

DK, I sincerely do appreciate ALL you do. Thanks for taking all that greek to me computer talk and making it respond to my clicks.

    also how do I become a supporter/sponsor?

  8. For those old enough to remember "A Season On The Brink" we finally caught another fish. Probably too late for anything but the NIT. Just frustrating that this team can have the wins against top 25 teams and then put a losing streak together like they did. SMH

  9. I know it was probably consensual and all that. Just seems odd that a man worth $6 billion dollars can't find a willing partner without paying someone. In light of the fact that he may have fathered a child by his 39 year old girlfriend maybe $79 was a bargain. I'm definitely biased toward his organization but it sure looks like he was being sneaky. Definitely looking forward to FRIDAY NIGHTS and the 2019 FOOTBALL SEASON!!!  I know the Lions will have to replace the left side of the O Line, but return everyone else on the offensive side of the ball.  Defensively the Lions should be stout, although we will have to replace stud middle linebacker Colin McCartney...no easy task!  We have several young kids ready to step up and get some varsity minutes.  I think it could be an exciting year for SHS!!

I’m also looking forward to keeping up with WW this year...they should have a great season as well!!  I hope my young cousin, Mason Armstrong has a tremendous senior season for the Senators!!

I believe Mason is the real deal. He is always in the play on both sides of the ball. I like watching him play.

    Disgusting.  All Around.

And have pretty much lost all respect for the governing aspect of the IHSAA.

Sad state of affairs, assuming the Indianapolis Star has their facts straight. Don't know who I distrust the most IS or IHSAA.

You have a lineman who is 6' foot and weighs 225lb. He can bench 270 and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.4. You have another lineman who is 5' 10" tall weighs 180. He can bench 190 lbs. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7. Which lineman would you want to play first?

I want the kid who with his fellow lineman can control the LOS. If I control the LOS I win the game.

Something about this just rubs me the wrong way.

Weren't there once a set of standards and criteria for a varsity football head coaching search?

Next it will be bantam and pee wee coaches taking over high school football programs.  Is the talent pool that thin, or are these the most unattractive jobs in a world full of bad jobs?

This is the path that leads to varsity sports becoming club sports.

Bad trend, which will continue and worsen over time.

Kind of like hiring a community organizer from the streets of Chicago to run the country. Whoops! did I just say that? Sorry. Banish me to the OOB turf.

  14. Campbellsburg to Sheridan was a trek a few years ago. And it rained with the wind blowing toward the visitors side. Uphill both ways! We got trounced.

I did get to witness what it looks like for a community to embrace a program and support it. The fans and boosters treated us well until kickoff, did I mention we got trounced, then they shook our hands and thanked us for coming. Wished us well and a safe trip home.
