Not true: Your dominating and play all you JV the entire 2nd half. They still have 4 quarters on Saturday or Monday.
My issue is not Varsity to JV/Freshman
It is the fact that we cannot play 5 quarters a week with our Freshman/JV teams anymore. So we played last night with 13 and will play Thursday with 14. Instead of 27 JV kids where I picked better freshman to play a quarter each.
Coach you are right! Sorry, misinterpreted your concern with the rule. This issue does need correcting.
Don’t want any trouble with the “Mayor”. 😂

You sir are the one who said “never forget”. Read as “I’m butt hurt about it”.
I following this site for 2 years before joining. Remember folks fussing about Muda keeps moving the goalposts. Now I understand why.
Have a great day!

Hit submit too soon.
Coach Nowlin has an excellent point the 6 quarter rule needs to be tweaked. Otherwise you may have no choice but to leave your starters in a game that they are dominating.

? So this is some kind of "payback", and therefore justified? Is that your moral argument?
Never said running up the score is justified. I did infer that there is little difference in a fan being raw(never forget) about losing 96-0 and then that same school beating someone 61-0. Neither one is justifiable in my opinion.
There are teams that clearly back off yet still overwhelm the competition. It happens. In my opinion the coach shouldn’t ask his players to fall down when touched instead of tackled, run 3 yards and stop, kneel down 3 times and punt, etc.

Who exactly is "you" in your statement? And who exactly is "my" team?
Not getting drawn into your(Muda's) semantics argument. If 96-0 caused you to never forget take ownership of the other games said team played.

You sure about the 50% being 18? Maybe if football were played in the spring........................
And no, 96-0 refers to October 17th, 2008. A day that will live in Clinton county infamy: http://pastfb.homestead.com/logs/ClintonPrairie.htm#loaded
@Muda69 I reviewed the link you provided. Found it interesting that since 1994 there were 28 occasions you “beat” your opponent by 35+ points. Several opponents such as Turkey Run, Tri-West, Lapel, etc. you did it multiple times. Once you even scored 77 points to their 0.
Does this lay heavy on you conscious? Is this why you have numerous losing seasons because you have influenced your school to play fair? Does your school take a knee when facing an overmatched opponent? The record indicates otherwise. Tongue firmly in cheek for those that can’t tell otherwise.

It was 43-0 at halftime after we let time expire with all 3 timeouts left on the 1 yard line. First half we had 250 yards, they had -12.
We started subbing in 3rd quarter. Final score was 43-14.
I was actually being facetious. Typed it in between appointments and didn’t make that clear.
I’m well aware that your school does not run up the score. Have a lot of respect for your program.
@PLAC FAN amused me last week with some of his posts, that is why I responded as I did.

Hey @PLAC FAN , did you happen to catch the score of the Brownstown/Corydon game by chance?
It was close, wasn’t it?

Anybody have research on this?
West Lafayette and Lafayette played a basketball game on grass tonight...
74-66 Jeff. That’s 140 points...28 more than they combined against one another last winter in basketball!
The New Pal/Snider state game comes to mind but even it falls short.
Some Stats:
WL's Kyle Adams 45-61, 554 yards, 7 TD; LJ's Grimes 19-29, 404 yards, 2 TD; LJ's Marquis Munoz 197 rush yds, 6 total TD
Embarrassing or amazing? You decide...

Think that is going to be a super good game. If I had a clone one of us would go to this game.

I too will be at the WW vs. Eastern game. Should be on WSLM 1220 AM. Hope Bobby Stevens runs for 250+ tonight! Some one who has witnessed a practice says he is quicker than last year!

No because he never has a positive thought about football, at least not since 1978.

to be fair.. basically the entire MIC's schedule looks like that... or at least Carmel, WC, and CG's schedules do.
Not trying to down play BD's schedule at all just saying those 4's schedule are honestly incredible.
A few years ago I seem to remember that Sagarin had Pike 0-6 yet ranked in the top 20 statewide due to the killer strength of schedule they faced.

It definitely changes the way you watch a game. Even watching a game on TV, I often find myself counting offensive players in the huddle, looking for subs coming in, and once the line up looking at the formation to make sure they're legal, checking numbers positions, etc.
The superstar.....sadly unless he's the QB, the LG, or one of the defensive rushers, I probably won't see much of him. I often here the BJ or wing talk about these spectacular plays down field, and I never see them. In fact many times I don't know whether the ball is dropped or caught. You have your keys, then your area of responsibility, and that's your sole focus.
Appreciate the feedback. Gives a new appreciation for what the officials do. One of my favorite things about GID.

From what I've seen of the film we missed an illegal formation on one play.
IO, that's interesting, thanks for sharing. I've always wondered once you are a coach or an official are you able to watch a game through a fans eyes anymore? One other question when you are calling a game which involves a "superstar" do you ever get caught up in that individuals performance, such as thinking, Wow! I'm probably never going to see anything like this again?

Nahhh opposing viewpoints are a good thing. Even if they get ridiculous. And it suuuuure is entertaining. LOL
Opposing viewpoints I'm good with when it comes to run vs. spread, private vs. public, etc., Ridiculous yes, entertaining up to a point. I don't understand why a person takes the time to read GID, respond to different threads, send in support to keep GID going, even suggest that GID sell subscriptions at one point and then spend their time and energy to bash high school football and constantly campaign for it's demise at high schools all over the state. That blows my mind. Just walk away if it bothers you that much. Nuff said!

So far everyone who has picked games has Perry Central over Tell City. I read on the PAC Week 1 stream that Tell City is the sleeper of the PAC and will finish 3rd or 4th in the conference. Is this conference bias or is Perry Central and Tell City both really good but we think Perry just a little better?
It's probably a little conference bias on both threads. That's why they play the games, let's see what happens Friday. Really looking forward to this season getting underway. May the best team win!
Is Eastern Greene the sleeper in Sectional 48? was all their off-season noise much ado about nothing?

I finally gave in and went through the security stuff and set up my new account.
Wow, two of you so far picking Corydon over Brownstown...what's your logic? Just curious.I was wondering the same thing about the people picking Eastern Greene after the dumpster fire offseason they had. Oh well that's why we have this forum. Opinions! that's why they play the games. Otherwise we could just have them ship the trophy to Campbellsburg and celebrate our undefeated season!! 😂

Wow! Clubhouse leaders at 70%. Not sure if I should be happy or be looking over my shoulder. One week does not a season make!
My best impression of coachspeak “We were just fortunate to have the ball bounce our way from time to time last week. Got a lot of things we need to address this coming week. We’ll get back to the basics and hit it hard Friday night. Just feel real good to be in the position we are. Can’t take our foot off the gas. Go Senators!”
