  1. Didn't want our semi-state match-up to be the only one without a thread on GID. I realize WW is the decided underdog in this game, just wanted to hear some folks ideas on what we would have to do to win this game. Have been following 1A all year and am well aware of Lutheran's strengths and weaknesses (none of which seemed to display in their contest with NV).

WW has had a strong defense all season with the Paoli and Salem games being the only exceptions. The last two games have been our best two examples of complete games on both sides of the ball. We had a strong goal line stand at the end of the 1st half to hold North Decatur to a field goal instead of a touchdown which seemed to shift momentum in the 2nd half.

Probably will require a "perfect" game on our part with some turnovers from Lutheran in order for us to advance. But then again that is why we suit up and play the game. Looking forward to this game and rooting hard for the Senators.

    Anyone else?

I am having a hard time picking against WW, but doing my best to be objective here. I hope WW wins, do not get me wrong. I have to go with my gut here and say ND gets the win. Paoli is the common opponent here. WW beat Paoli 34-30. ND beat Paoli 41-0. As I recall, there were some injuries or something that Paoli had suffered against WW the week before that maybe led to their game against ND not being so close.

    Good luck to both teams!

Hey @boilerfan87 will you keep picking against the Senators? LOL! I know I can’t catch you but it felt good to gain one on you. Have really enjoyed the pickem this year.

In the PLAC, conference selection is based on how you finished in the conference and the team's coach places their players in the positions they want them (if available). First place gets 8 players, second place 7 players, etc. A player may only fill one position. The exception is kicking and punting, decided by all coaches and supported by stats. By getting Holden on as a punter our team was able to have 9 players, it was something that was discussed by the WW staff and discussed with our QB. His response was exactly what we have come to expect, "get the extra player on".

Thanks for sharing Coach. Trust you have a good week preparing for Friday night.

Does 5th place pay anything? LOL

It's been fun following both conferences this year.

Hopefully WW has three more games like they played Friday night in them.

A friend of mine, whom I have invited to several games this year, said "Hey since they have made it to the regional I may go with you Friday night!" I replied, "You aren't getting anywhere close to Sanders Field. No chance I'm jinxing this team with a late season adjustment to my game night routine!" 😂

Really thought Holden was a lock a QB but admittedly only saw PC twice. Congrats to all 1st team PLAC

So is a player allowed to be 1st team on both Offense and Defense? I agree with you re: Holden. Also thought Mason could have been named at linebacker.

  6. Congratulations to the Senators for their sectional championship! I thought tonight was one of their best overall games all year. We were clicking on both sides of the ball. 3 takeaways for the defense, good special teams play, and a big time move by Holden on the first touchdown for the last five yards.

  7. OK Tanka, you have infuriated me with your endless touting of endzone cameras on nearly every thread on this forum. Yet I have to applaud you for this one, well played State Farm.

Once upon a time I enjoyed watching both Dallas and Houston(Oilers only) games. Always thought Landry was the epitome of what a coach was supposed to be. Then he was unceremoniously retired by the present ownership and replaced by J@#@!y J*&^%$$n. From that day forward my two favorite NFL teams have been the Oilers/Titans and whoever Dallas is playing.

Again Tanka thanks for being part of the GID.
