Never said that!!  Tough guy!!  I said I would like to see him play QB with some real athletes!  Sorry you got your feelings hurt dad!

You too dad! Glad you should who you are! Keep up the blindside! Everyone knows who you are!

All through the years it is amazing that you wouldn't allow people to help your kid. Let it go! Seriously let it go! Your kid is a stud and will hel0 his next two teams

I would love to see what Rylan Metz, from Alexandria, could do with a decent line and the talent surrounding him that some of these other QB’s have.  He’s a great passer and good size!  Just not the best team.

I would agree with you on the line. He definitely got nervous against the better teams due to no time but he had plenty in the way of receivers to throw to. Metz and Vernetti hooked up for some monster numbers plus he had orick and Stewart to throw too.

Metz also did a great job early on of running the ball when things had not developed. Only thing i would have loved to see with Metz was for him to make decisions a little quicker and to run as hard as he did against frankton, elwood and mg

GV5 is going to be hard to catch!  I added the other 2 games because that's who the CIC potential regional champ will be facing at semi-state.

    East Noble @ Mississinewa

    Eastside @ Eastbrook

    New Prairie @ Hobart

    Lewis Cass @ Andrean

In an effort to catch GV5 I went with every pick as an upset according to JH :classic_biggrin:

It almost worked! Great idea! Did not see the Lewis Cass or New Prairie games going that way!

Agreed. I've had Alexandria fatigue ever since a Tiger poster led with "Down goes Frazier" after they beat Blackford. Woof

The explosive offense scored 16 against a 2-8 1A Wes-Del squad at home to begin the season and if you remove lifeless teams like Elwood, Frankton, and the September version of MG from the slate there isn't much to beat your chest at. I will agree that they have some individual standouts at the skill positions but in the end, Eastern did the Tigers a favor by allowing their fans to focus on basketball and avoid another chilly Friday night on the bleachers listening to those annoying cowbells as Eastbrook hangs half a hundred.

I agree with you 1st few games wes-del and wabash where ugly! Defense was terrible and offense was good but not great including 2 holds that cost them 2 td's and over 130 yards. Yes it is a weak conference except for Eastbrook and Ole Miss. Blackford wasn't as good as expected i.e. "down goes frazier" which was a total joke. Alexandria should of beat wabash, oak hill and eastern but could not finish games or keep anyone out of the endzone. I hope for the future they work on tackling at practice because it was atrocious this year.

    My take of Alexandria:

Offense- plenty of talent at skilled positions. Need to adapt sets and play calling to your talent. Cannot run spread your whole life. The better teams used the blitz to put pressure on q.b. and take away their weapons.

Defense- if your best 11 are healthy they need to play. Cannot continue to put people in because their good kids. If they cannot tackle nor understand what you are trying to do then you as a team create holes and weak spots. The better teams will expose that.

  5. Marion wins over Ole Miss in a fairly close game! I just feel Marion has more talent. Hope I am wrong. May go watch this one! Marion by 11

Eastbrook will tear up Eastern! Alexandria won the game on the field not on the scoreboard Eastern has a running back thats it! Eastbrook by 35

South Adams by alot! Mg good turn around and with dropping down to 1a has beat some ok teams. South Adams will be to Much and Mg will struggle to keep up on Defense. South Adams by 42

Alex Tigers faithful, did the attempt of kicking 2 FGs make any sense to those of you at the game?  Or how about the fake punt in your own territory?  From what I've read, it seemed like the Tigers could've actually won that game against Eastern, but there were some questionable coaching decisions.  Hindsight is 20/20 I know, but with such an explosive offense I didn't understand attempting FGs, especially after missing the first one, why try it again?  Just think, if they had made those FGs, they would've only lost 20-13.  SMH.  Please someone try to make sense of these decisions.  Thanks in advance.

You are absolutely right! It was questioned by everyone there. Why you kick when your kicker struggled the week before at elwood made no sense. The tigers moved the ball easily down the field on most drives only to take what was perceived as the safe play.

This is the decision making that took a 9-2 or at worst 8-3 team and made them a 6-5 team. You had Metz, Vernetti, Orick and Stewart who where making plays and didn't have the trust in them and what carried you all year to finish drives. It was sad to watch Alexandria out play Eastern on the field only to get beat like they did!

  7. Ole Miss has done the right thing with coaches! He has brought in quality coaches to help him build the program! This does not happen at other schools. Instead they hire buddies or teachers with little to no experience. The latter is out of their control. Funk and Adamson by far have setup their schools better than the rest of the CIC to be successful!

  8. Mississinewa @ Huntington North

    Tipton @ Eastbrook

    Eastern @ Alexandria

    Union City @ MG

Ole Miss in what will be a tune up for next week!

Eastbrook by 3td's but game will be closer. I belive tipton has improved since start of year. Mistakes or lack there of will dictate score getting out of control if it does.

Eastern by 2td's Alexandria will score plenty but will not be able to stop Eastern. Alexandria needs to play best 11 on both sides of the ball and quit worrying about kids play totals.

MG in what should be a somewhat close game. I believe a 14pt game in the end. Union city is streaky so hopefully MG doesn't let them reel off a big run.

Good luck to all CIC teams this weekend! Here is to hoping Alexandria can have a solid defensive night against a top tier team for once.

Alexandria is already looking ahead to basketball season.  Friday nights game was just bad. The kids looked checked out and very lethargic.  @GV5 is right in saying that they have the talent but the coaching is just terrible.  Until a change is made the Tigers will continue to under achieve.  Elwood on the other hand has some things to look forward to.  I thought the quarterback was a pretty solid kid for a freshman and his future looks bright hopefully they can get some positive energy around the program and get more kids out.

Yes just do not understand how you cannot figure out who the best 11 are for defense. When they put in 1 of the kids he made 3 tackles in 5 plays.

Coaching will win or lose the next game. Alexandria has more talent on their offense and could on defense if they figure it out!
