The House wins big. Average correct was 4.7, median 5, mode of 3 games correct!

Just a horrible representation by you degenerates! Do better for yourself,  your school and your children!

Are you sure I got 0 this last week?

@SISN Welcome aboard. The more the merrier on the GID. Any ranking system that would have any team in Sectional 40 with the exception of Mater Dei and any 1A school ahead of 4A (SF) Memorial and 5A Castle needs some serious tweaking. In any event, I'd be interested to see the supporting data.

Would it be that crazy to put Linton up there? Linton only lost to Mater Dei by one point in last years sectional. It looks like Linton is a better team this year compared to how they were last year. I am not sure that Mater Dei this year is improved over their team from last year.

If I'm not mistaken, Indiana now allows players 6 quarters per week so playing the JV players for 2 quarters on Friday night would not create the scenario described above.

However my beef is when the better team complains about the losing team keeping their varsity players in the game after the leading team subs out their starters.  If the teams are really that lopsided in talent, wouldn't the better teams subs be a good matchup with the losing team's starters?  Why not let those groups get some time against each other?  The JV teams are going to play on Saturday or Monday.  Why should they play a couple of quarters against each other on Friday night too?  In my mind that just doesn't make sense.

That is a good point. I had forgot that the IHSAA changed to 6 quarters per week.

You'll hear a lot of the "they have a JV game and they have to save quarters" BS.  Although I don't want to see a kid get hurt, it would serve a coach right if one of his starters ends up with a hamstring pull or a sprained ankle while padding their stats.

Why do you think that is BS? You have to follow the quarter rules. Tell me what you would think if this happened.

Team SR1 plays a varsity game and puts the JV guys in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Now Team SR1 does not have enough players to play Team Ballhawk in the JV game. Team Ballhawk played a different varsity team that week and was in a game that came down to the last play so the JV players did not get into the game. Team Ballhawk's JV kids are not going to get a game at all now because Team SR1 played the JV players in the 3rd and 4th quarters of the varsity game. If you are a coach or player of Team Ballhawk are you happy? Or should Team SR1 have waited until the 4th quarter of the varsity game to put in the JV?

  5. Southridge has been playing very well. The thing is that they have not played anyone that I think is near Gibson Southern's quality. The SR defense has been solid but GS has a very stout offensive line. Can Southridge get pressure on the QB? This could be key to slowing down the GS offense. GS looks like they have good speed running the ball. Hard to judge on film but SR is going to have to swarm to the ball.

I don't think you see the point being made. In 2017 the SIAC #1 beat the PAC #1 head to head. PAC #2 beat SIAC #4.

And 812 is not an SIAC homer... LOL.

Maybe I can help him with his point. In 2013 undefeated SIAC #1 lost to the PAC #2 in the sectional championship.

I agree with DT that its an endless, unwinnable argument, but it does pass the time...

Over the last few years, GS would clearly have been in the discussion for an SIAC title. Who else from the PAC?

Two years ago Southridge had 2 wins over Gibson Southern so if you feel GS would have been in the discussion for a SIAC title then Southridge would have been as well.

I didn’t think it would extend beyond the HS level but that definitely explains it.

It does. I did not know either. I googled Indiana Football Hall of Fame. Took less than two minutes to find out how it works. Here is part of it:

    B. Candidate may qualify by virtue of his/her contribution to Indiana football at the junior high/middle school, high school, college, or professional level.

Maybe I’m missing something but is the HOF new? Or did it really take 20 years to realize Jay Cutler should be in the IFCA HOF lol

You are missing something. For a player to be nominated for the Indiana Hall of Fame he has to have completed his playing career 5 years prior. This is the first year he could be nominated.

I did see the PAC let the powerhouse Tecumseh Braves in. Do they even have football?  Who’s next, Cannelton?

Not really a matter of letting Tecumseh in. Tecumseh is already a member of the PAC. They were just allowed to not compete as a conference team in football. That took a agreement of the conference members to be allowed to play as a independent in football. All that vote did is take away that exception for Tecumseh.

Has anyone heard if Tecumseh actually likes this idea?  I don't know why they wouldn't but I'm sure I don't have all the decision making factors that they do.

I talked to a Tecumseh football player at the wrestling semistate a few days ago. He said that the word at Tecumseh is they are coming back into the PAC for football.
