I have no idea why Tecumseh was not brought back in for football. If they had been included and you put 7 teams in the LED they Pike Central would have been the team to move into the LED based on enrollment.

Really hoping Southridge can follow suit and add some tougher games to prepare for sectionals especially with HH and GS in our sectional.. Not a big fan of the Small School division when it comes to strength of schedule and good competition.
Question, will there be 2 PAC conference champions?
The first post with the announcement from the PAC says that each division will have a champion.

Huh? You realize HH and Boonville will play next year right? And MD and Jasper will not have any non conference openings.
When a guy is living on the other side of the world I think we can understand if the off season news slips by him.

Last years QB for Southridge was the really tall kid. He has a real chance to play D1 basketball or baseball in collage. Not playing football.

Week 1 at Roy Williams Field. Southridge is 4-0 verse the Miners. Should be an interesting game to see where both teams are at to begin the year. Linton is returning a lot of starters this year with some familiar faces. I am not sure what to expect from the Raiders other than a quality football team. Good luck to all!
Actually Southridge is 5-0 vs. the Miners. Should be a good game.
1982 40-0
1995 26-14
2017 17-16 week one
2017 20-0 sectional
2018 35-7

Yes, page 111 of the 2019-2020 IHSAA by-laws
54-7 A School may schedule one football Jamboree between Three (3) or more IHSAA member Schools. A football Jamboree does not count as a Practice, but does count as an interschool Contest. Only students who have full athletic eligibility may participate in a football Jamboree. A football Jamboree may not be scouted by anyone not affiliated with a team participating in the football Jamboree.
54-8 During a school year a School may participate in either a) a football Controlled Scrimmage between Two (2) member Schools or b) Two (2) quarters in one Varsity football Jamboree.

Sorry but I have to add my opinion on Tony Lewis. He DID fall into a great team. Year 1 was a sophomore starting QB with many other sof and juniors with major playing time. The stretch before Lewis arrived and while he was there was probably the greatest collection of athletes Reitz has had in 50 years. There has been some better indivudual ones but not so many at the same time as in that time span. Nearly any Smoe Joe could have came in and coach that team to a very high level. Lewis ran the same 3 plays over and over at both Reitz and Henderson. We just had the athletes then that could over power and outrun the competition. If he is so great why couldnt he manage more than 1 win at Richmond? I do agree there are alot of rediculous Reitz fans with unreal expectations but no more than any other school that has had success. The stretch from 2004 to 2010 has spoiled alot of us but at the same time many teams would be thrilled to go 6-4. You leave 4 jobs within that short of a span you cant be pointing fingers at the admninstration saying its them. Maybe once or twice but after that many times the coach has to look in the mirror. He will last no more than 2 years at Jasper. No knock on the kids but just imagine a Lewis spread offense and no run game when to player he has are slower powerful country boys. The 2 just dont fit.
In his one year at Richmond he won 2 games. That was a team that had not won a game the year before so it was an improvement.

Need a better argument than being better than the three teans listed. Can name several teams that could have been added that would finish above those three teams.i have been an SIAC person for fourty years and I stick to my previous statement. I will give that the judgement is still out on Lincolns new coach but I really see Jaspers sucess going downhill with their new coaching hire.
You list Reitz as your school. What does that say about you current coach? Jasper's new coach won more games in 5 years at Reitz than the current Reitz coach has won in 6 years.

Memorial has their own practice field that is an artificial turf surface.

Why would Memorial not apply here?

As was Huntingburg and the old gym in Owensville.
Are you saying that Huntingburg Memorial gym was built with the late Roberts Stadium as the blueprint? If so then that is not correct. Huntingburg was built about 5 years before Roberts Stadium.

Jasper was 8-3 in 2017. This last season they were 6-5. They were missing 5 or 6 starters by the time they got to week 3 and did not get those players back. Any Big 8 or PAC team is going to struggle with that many injuries. I don't think this indicated they are over the hill.

Above my pay grade to answer in depth.
I do have a few insights though. All Big 8 members are aware that the thought of scheduling 4 non-conference games for football could be a logistical nightmare.
I believe the Big8 would rather try and rectify the situation as a group rather than try to go it alone and disband.
The initiative was brought to the table in a way to show benefits to all involved.
Tecumseh I feel is the one being drug along with the least to gain. They being the smallest by 25% or so of the next smallest school. They have found a workable schedule that's best for their 1A program. Not sure why they would want to change.
Tecumseh already plays North Posey, Pike Central, and Forest Park. Replacing the current schedule with South Spencer and Tell City is not a big difference. Southridge is the only team that is year to year going to be a big jump in competition.

IMO if the PAC/BIG 8 don't change the schedule and have the non conference games at the beginning of the year they will be making a huge mistake.
It is not the PAC conferences fault that some teams in the conference play their conference games in the first two weeks. For example Gibson Southern. The game against South Spencer has been the same week since 1981. And it was a nonconference game when it was scheduled that week. Gibson Southern just could not decide which conference to be in. They were in the PAC then went to the Big 8 and then came back to the PAC. In 2000 the 9th regular season game was added. The next year Gibson Southern and Tecumseh started playing in the new week one instead of what became week 4. Forest Park latter took Tecumseh's place on the other teams PAC football schedules. Do you know why the change was made between Gibson Southern and Tecumseh playing in week one instead of four?

Just winding it down. I like to give a response when asked or challenged.
Then you must have missed where I asked "How much were you charging for a membership at that site?" in reference to the website you ran.

There is no attempt here to storm the gates, conduct a military coup, or otherwise overthrow the braintrust of The GID.
I simply see this point in time as a pivot point for The Digest.
Given the shutdown, significant loss of membership, and new cost burdens associated with the hardware and software makeovers, all options should be considered.
Should the site go the pay route, I would consider being an investor, as long as there is potential ROI to be realized at some point.
But that takes strategic business and marketing oriented thinking, which I have in abundant supply.
Just my 2 cents worth. I figure after 15 years and tens of thousands of posts, I've earned the right. 😀
Where was that strategic business and marketing oriented thinking when you ran your own Indiana high school football forum? It was not around for long. How long exactly did it last before you closed it down?

I would rather see a geographic division shake up.....
also dont know if tecumseh would come back to the PAC for football in this case
Don't know about Tecumseh going back in that case but they will be playing Forest Park, Pike Central, and North Posey this year anyway.

Illinois is going to go to Districts for football (i think in two years) this will mean Mt. Carmel will no longer be able to play in the Big 8.

Who is going to be enough better competition from the LED for Southridge other than Boonville to be worth moving up? From the information we have seen so far Gibson Southern and Heritage Hills will remain on the schedule. Boonville is just on a high right now and we will see if they can maintain this level. They have only had 8 winning seasons in the last 25 years. In the last 10 years only 5 winning records.
