You won the game.  Why the sour grapes comment?  Linton did lead 20 -12 in the fourth quarter and then gave up a couple of scores and had a couple of turnovers IN THE FOURTH QUARTER.  Go back and read my comment. NOWHERE does it say throw out the fourth quarter.  You are the one who said that.  If you are gong to quote someone, get it right.

You do understand how quotation marks work right?

While true. I believe the first 2 years were out of the ordinary years for HC. We did have great teams those years but it wasn’t the same HC that GS faced in 2017 and 2018 where Gs went 1-1....shoot. Last year they shut GS out 23-0 I believe

I thought the same about the first two years GS played them. Although they were not very good those two years they still have over 1900 students. Just trying to support the fellow PAC school.

First time a PAC school has played a 6A team. Perhaps even a 5A team in the new alignment system.

Will be interested to see if Gibson platoons or uses its tournament and championship rotations playing the best players two ways.

Has Southport seen Gibson's no huddle offense? That could be troublesome early on if Southport plays some kind of zone (or worse man) and can't pressure the QB. I think physically the Titans will be able to block and tackle, let's see if fatigue factors in.

Gibson Southern played Henderson County KY the last 4 years and went an impressive 3-1 against them.  If Henderson County was in Indiana they would be a the 8th largest 5A school with a little over 1900 students.

Regardless of the outcome, this is usually a good hard hitting contest.  Coach Crabtree always has his teams ready to play.  The Falcons are 3 - 0 and have averaged 40 points per game.   The Miners have played a bit tougher competition and other than a bad fourth quarter against Southridge,  they could be 3 - 0 themselves.  The Miners average 30 points per game.  I'll admit I don't know a lot about the Falcons this year, but at 3 - 0, they must be in a good place,, team wise.  Harrell has predicted a 31 - 24 win for the Miners. Should be a good game but I'll say the Miners win by 2 scores.   Something like 28 - 14.

"other than a bad fourth quarter against Southridge,  they could be 3 - 0 themselves." If we throw out the fourth quarter against Southridge, Linton loses 12-7. That was the score at the end of the third quarter. I have seen this or we gave the Southridge game away from several post made by Linton fans. Linton lead for less than 5 minutes of a 48 minute game. Southridge lead for over 27 minutes.

Clearly you didn't watch how Jasper played their 1st 2 games.

Maybe how Jasper played had to do with the two teams you played. They did both win state two years ago and on went back to state and the other went to semistate last year. Good teams can force you away from what you want to do when it is not working.

This will be the first test for GS this year and has been a heavily anticipated matchup more many fans in Southwest Indiana.

Both squads enter this upcoming Saturday 3-0.

Southport on paper is probably the favorite.  6A school with over 2000 students vs a 3A school with about 650 students.

Im not sure if I have seen many Southport fans on here, but does anyone have an idea of what Southport will bring to the table? What type of offense they like running?  Notable players?

Very excited about this matchup....and I believe there will be a video stream of the game come Saturday.

Southport has an enrollment of 2256.

Gibson Southern has an enrollment of 706

All of them... All of them are better. See 74's comment. What does SR get out of playing the same bad teams year after year and "Winning" a small school conference when they know damn well they can compete in the LED.
GS can agree, i'm sure, but beating teams by significant amounts each week is great for your ranking and record, but what does that help a team come tournament time and you haven't had starters play all 4 quarters all year going into sectional?

That same schedule minus Jasper got a State championship two years ago. Maybe we should wait and see who we pick up for that last game. I would like to see Southridge and Boonville play. Southridge played Jasper week #2 and Boonville played Vincennes in week #2 this year. Looks like that might be a possible game.

Not trying to disagree to just disagree but:

    Booneville or Tell City

    Princeton or North Posey

    Mt. Vernon or South Spencer

    Washington or Pike

Was just trying to say that even though the teams may not be powerhouses by any means it stills seems like better competition IMO

I just have a few minutes right now before I will be away from the computer but one thing I did was look at Mt. Vernon and North Posey because they play every year. They are 13-13 against each other over the last 26 games. I already said Boonville might be the only team that Southridge won't play that would be a good game most years. Princeton has had 6 winning seasons over the last 25 years. 3 of those were in 1994,1995,and 1996. Washington has had 5 winning seasons over the last 25 years.
