I think it was 14-0 before Knox lost their QB
Knox was undisciplined and discombobulated defensively! 90% of Knox snaps, the QB had to leave his feet to catch. They have a lot of problems right now that need fixed.

Just saying its hard to control ball and keep defense off field when you have a kid playing qb in 1st quarter who has never even played qb whole life. Knox defense was on field whole game. Thought laville qb did play well.
I think it was 14-0 before Knox lost their QB

39 Laville 14 Knox and Knox is getting chippy

Laville 31, Knox 14 @ Halftime

LaVille has a lot of obstacles to overcome to play with Knox. Winamac and Caston are not close to any level that LaVille will see this Friday. OL is still young and got even younger when Bettcher went down. They loss a ton of starts when Bettcher and Doyle went out. Especially at Center/QB on offense and MLB/OLB on defense. To much to overcome.

Damn... that's a shame. What happened to Bettcher? He's a great kid.
James broke a bone in his foot against Winamac.

LaVille @ Knox (+13)
Pioneer @ Triton (-32)
Winamac @ Culver (-16)
CMA @ N. Judson (+6)
N. White @ Caston (+17) . . . Comets win game #2 under Coach Porter! 2016 last time Caston won two games in a season. Keep up the good work Comets and Coach Porter!
as always, the game is better

I’ll take:
Redskins plus 13
Pioneer plus 32
Winamac plus 16
CMA minus 6
Caston plus 17

Yes LaVille's defense was the major key.I also think them switching offenses had a huge advantage as well...you could tell Winamac was prepared for LaVille's offense from last year. ..once Winamac adjusted it was tough sledding offensively for them too.
Winamac just has to take care of the ball and no silly penalties... that roughing the kicker on the missed FG(I think they hit the holder after czarnecki kicked it) was huge.
I can't remember if that play led to Dills TD or eventually Czarnecki kicked FG a few plays later.
That led to a Plummer to Czarnecki TD pass. Dill did not score, non factor offensively. Hard to believe he was all state his sophomore year.

14-6 LaVille over Winamac w/2:25 left 2nd
-
14-0 LaVille over Winamac w/8:39 in 2nd. Freshman QB Lucas Plummer has 2 TD passes.
-
7-0 LaVille over Winamac.

Were fans (parents) able to watch?

Has South Adams and Adams Central ever consider to consolidate and became a 2A power?

I don't get to see a these teams play but I will say that the HNAC looks like a pretty good conference to watch this season. I teach with a guy who was previously at Knox and he said they will have their best team ever this year. if we end up with a bye week hopefully I can go over and watch some HNAC games.
I think this may be the most competitive year overall in the conference....so here is hoping that we all get through it without interruptions.

LaVille has a lot of 3-4 year players and experience on this team will benefit them throughout the year. Should be favorite in the conference and Andrew Dill should be a breakout player for them. He should be the featured back and get a huge number of carries. Czarnecki has really developed into a great safety, plus is a weapon with his leg. Doyle will be a seasoned QB and OLB and with Bettcher playing a bigger role for them, it should be a big year.

I read the article in the Logansport paper and when they mentioned Cass totaled 2 touchdowns on 2 point conversions, I had to do the math! Lol. That is quite the advantage. I wonder what the success rate is in high school going for 2 instead of 1?
-
Hey, it’s tournament time, all those records are thrown out the window. Both teams are 2-0 and if Lewis Cass comes in looking pass the Lancers, they may be in trouble. LaVille plays very physical and have some very skilled kids, so I wouldn’t count them out quite yet. If they can prevent Lewis Cass from getting the big play scores and protect the ball, it will be a game.

LaVille will won their first and second round games with not much resistance.

Knox... 35... 7
Pioneer 26... Cass 24
LaVille... 24.. Wabash 0
Culver ...50 ...Station 13
Winamac.. 43 Gary.. 12
Northfield 33 ..Triton 20...
Adams Central 49... Caston 6...
North Judson 58...SN 0...
I concur with both of you on these picks, all look legit to me as well. If I didn’t have a son playing for LaVille, I would find my way to Lewis Cass to check out the “championship” game.

It looks like the weather will create havoc again tonight. I am not sure how many teams play on turf in the HNAC throughout the season but how is a game on turf in the rain? Anyone play one on turf?

And football guru, please chill, you’re making LaVille fans look very bad!

As a LaVille fan and one that is familiar with Glenn, this game Friday will be a battle!! Glenn has gotten better on both sides of the ball and has speed. Creed is a stud at QB and only gets better each game. They played a lot of freshman and sophomores last season. Last years game only adds fuel to the fire and I definitely do not expect anything close to that. I still hate the fact that they joined the NIC, but that’s done and over now and that was the move that set back the football program IMO. Friday should be a good one!!
