Friday, Aug. 22 Boone Grove at Glenn, 7:30 pm Bremen at Churubusco, 7:30 pm Jimtown at Wawasee, 7 pm North Judson at Knox, 8 pm Tippecanoe Valley at Plymouth, 7 pm Triton at LaVille, 7 pm I have a sweep for the INSC teams this week. Boone Grove and Glenn might be close and Triton and Laville could be a close one. Both are at home so I will give them the edge.

Triton has some big dudes as well. More athletes and speed than size, but they do have some kids that look the part.

10 Public Schools and 15 Private Any additions or subtractions? -

EVE OF RULE 19
cpg1970 replied to Football Guru 25's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I am not so sure it will be the larger schools pulling from the smaller. I think you will see a shift from kids who are borderline players or non-starters at larger schools, going to smaller outlying schools, where they can be a difference maker. Instead of small fish in a big pond, go be the big fish in the little pond. -
When did West Lafayette get turf?
-
I was thinking about how schools could benefit from the one-time transfer rule. I was wondering if it would affect city schools having kids transfer to county schools, more so than inter-city school transfers. For example, South Bend schools losing players to LaVille or Bremen What does it take to influence kids to leave one program for another? Is it playing time, better facilities, better program, better school choice? Could be all of these I suppose, but wanted to get thoughts on how big this could be in some areas of the state.

Who is on the Tournament Success Factor bubble?
cpg1970 replied to rob's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Unless you are a private school that can recruit. I agree with you regarding public schools, who are forced to play the hand they are dealt. -
Add Benton Central to this group Carroll, Delphi, Winamac, Pioneer, North Judson and Rensselaer
-
Not a chance...Jays BIG.
-
Perhaps KV, NJ, Rensselaer are looking to create something??? I can’t recall the old conference they were all in together but maybe they are getting the band back together
-
I heard that Rensselaer has given notice that they intend to leave the Hoosier Conference. Am I late to the party here, or is this ‘new’ news? If so, what are their plans?

Is there hope for Attica?
cpg1970 replied to Muda69's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Schedule Benton Central..both teams are struggling, and it is only 30 minutes away. BC might need to consider changing conferences as well. -
How many kids on CC's team start two ways?
-
I was scrolling through some tournament history and noticed that Tippecanoe Valley made it to the State Finals in '77, which they lost to Ritter, and again in '79, which they won against HSE. But I have a question about how they only played three tournament games to get there. There was a Sectional, Regional, and State game. Now it takes five or six games to reach the finals. What were the playoffs like back then?

My "OH MY" teams of the week!

Attica and BC should start scheduling each other. Only what 30 mins apart? -
INSC - Week #1
cpg1970 replied to from_the_sidelines007's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Bremen at East Noble - Tough opener on the road for Bremen, giving the edge to EN @ home John Glenn at Boone Grove - John Glenn is looking to fill a lot of holes, might need a cpl weeks to iron the wrinkles out Knox at North Judson - Tough one to go with Knox on, being at Judson and a revamped OL for Knox. But McLaughlin is too much to handle LaVille at Triton - Ground and pound might be the name of the game in this one. I expect a defensive battle and LaVille gets the W in a close one NorthWood at Jimtown - Northwood to much for Jimmies in this one Wawasee at Tippecanoe Valley - TV coming off a great year, gets another season started on the right track, and wins big in this one -
INSC - Scrimmage This Weekl
cpg1970 replied to from_the_sidelines007's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Why are they calling it the conference INSC, not the original NSC name? -
Retirement? Or will move on?
-
Looking to get a feel of what the new NSC will be like in its first year back. With Knox and Tippy Valley's huge seasons last year, I think they will be primed as favorites to win the conference. I wonder how much both Knox and Valley return? With Glenn and Jimtown looking for new head coaches, it will be a big hire at both schools. Jimtown's ex-head coach Stoner, leaving for Fairfield seems almost like a step backward, wondering if he had ties to Fairfield.
-
What a way to start a new conference, two teams looking for new coaches at John Glenn and Jimtown. Is Stoner's move to Fairfield a bit surprising? I do not know any background info on him, is he from Fairfield or have any ties to the school? Glenn, not sure if they will fill their position internally or not? What does TV and Knox have coming back after having great seasons a year ago?

Chatard vs Knox Semi-state
cpg1970 replied to ArmyVet80's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
This is a big advantage, especially if those players are OL/DL....see it in every class and it can make a difference between winning and losing games.
