A buddy of mine was recently hired as head coach at a JUCO in Daytona. He has had a late start replacing half his roster and is in need of OL and DL. Maybe a TE and QB. Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. They can offer some scholarship money. If you have any players looking to continue playing and have not found a school yet, feel free to contact me. New season will be here soon! No new coaches in the PLAC. Coach Daniels at Charlestown is the only new coach in the MSC. Eastern Pekin becomes independent and Madison joins in the MSC this year, correct? Will new transfer rules become a factor this year in our area?

How big of a factor do you think the style of offense was in the interview process? Lewis ran the flexbone. Ahrens/Brewer ran the Power I/Pro style stuff. Do you think the people interviewing or fans wanted something specific?

How long does it really take to enter them in a spread sheet and sort them? I feel like I could do that, seed the entire tournament, and do a selection show in the same day. I'm going to propose the IHSAA hires me to arrange their tournaments. I want to be called The Game Maker like on Hunger Games.

I wish the IHSAA would use the current year's enrollment for the current year's classifications.

Yeah, I guess that's fine with me. I just asked a question. Not sure why you're being pissy toward me. Didn't LCC almost shut down during the 90's due to lack of money and enrollment? Maybe that's why they didn't win anything because they were focused on keeping the doors open. Don't worry. The IHSAA will never do anything different. Too many of our state politicians send their kids to private schools. They know if they actually addressed the issue, they would be disbanded and taken over by the IDOE.

I am curious. Did something change in 1997 that a Catholic school did win a state championship in basketball?(or volleyball or baseball) Did something change that allowed private schools to be more successful?

Providence will be by enrollment regardless. The enrollment they listed in the state finals program is higher than ours.

I think Providence and Mater Dei will both be in their enrollment only class.

I've heard the University of Miami (OH) referred to as the Harvard of the midwest. Not sure that is what is being referenced here.

I've been saying that for years. It would be so convenient for PC. All of their games would be a quick trip on 64, minus Pike Central. I think they fit really well there.

I am not disagreeing with your post at all. What do you perceive as advantages that public schools have over private schools?

I'd like to know how the schools in Iowa feel about their proposal to use Free and Reduced Lunches to set their enrollment. To me, that seems to be the best solution that actually addresses the problem. I'd like to see how that and a 4 year success factor (Or even 6) instead of a 2 year success factor.
