Paoli's JV finished their season 7-1. Only loss came week 1 against Boonville. Wish I could remember the scores. I know they beat Corydon, Springs Valley, Perry Central, West Washington, BNL's freshman team, North Daviess, and Mitchell.
Those two things are pretty important.
In regard to USSSA rules, Saturday is a little irrevelent if you consider some teams save pitching for Sunday and maybe you're down to your 3rd pitcher because you wanted an earlier seed and they saved theirs for the last game. My son was on a team and their coach was great at predicting when Sunday would be a washout. He'd burn his best pitchers to get the #1 seed and get a ring because Sunday was canceled.
Literally not a single person on this thread agrees with you and you think you've won an argument.
I'll say this, if you have coached anything, it's hard to tell.
Well the coach can't practice with any of his kids once the season ends. So it's kinda out of his hands.
My kids do a lot of travel baseball, softball, and basketball. The organization that runs the tournament, seeds the tournament based on pool play. This happens in every single tournament. I doubt anyone would sign up for a tournament if the organization said, You will play pool play Saturday for no reason then we will randomly put you in a bracket. It's easy to seed a tournament.
I agree I don't think teams care if they lost in round 1 or in a sectional title game but that's not the point. You get very few games in football. The teams that are better, should be rewarded with more games. Those freshmen and sophomores that may not play a lot of varsity but those extra weeks of practice that teams get when they advance are a huge advantage for those kids and their development.

I think it has to do with what all we could do with an indoor facility. You can drop the batting cages and hit year round. You can go in and have football practice in poor weather. Track and Field could use it pre-season. Maybe your hard core tennis players could use it too. We already have a practice field that's full width and 80 yards long. We don't need to be on the game field all the time.
