We have that now and if seeded properly we wouldn't have it after week 1 of the post-season.

I feel like this number is high. In an 8 team seeded sectional, I think you'll get a running clock in around 50% of first round games.

I do not know the answer to this question. I know a friend of mine who is currently a high school principal and was formerly an athletic director has tried multiple times to get on this committee and has never even heard back from anyone after he has sent an email.

In the PLAC, I believe Mitchell is the only one that does.

Region 10 Meeting is Monday.

I thought the biggest 32 were 6A. The bottom 64 were 1A. Next 64 were 2A and so on for 3A and 4A. Then the overflow went into 5A. That's why we get weird numbers in 5A sometimes like 37.

That was the Martin County Raiders. If I remember right, they had some different age groups. Pretty sure a HS age team was offered.

Like I said before, I know it's a football forum but other sports would benefit from this. I really think you could host a really profitable conference volleyball/boys and girls basketball tournaments with a bigger conference. In a world of streaming games, could an app for a conference be a way to make money? Maybe? When schools have to factor in increasing travel costs, does this help keep teams closer to home?

You always say that and your football schedule could actually be better. Makes no sense. You already play your 6 divisional opponents. You can still play Seymour. You can find two better opponents than Salem and Pekin if you want.

The Sagarin Ratings idea is neat. Would create a competitive schedule for everyone in theory. Wouldn't be hard to figure out. I know this is a football forum but I think having a good basketball or volleyball tournament at the end of the season prior to sectional play would be great. Hopefully a big money maker.

Overall, there wouldn't be a ton of changes. I'd like to involve Clarksville somehow but I left them out. WW, Paoli, Mitchell do for sure have wrestling. Crawford County did have wrestling. Not sure if they still do or not.

Going to keep at it until it happens. I'm a really big fan of what the PAC has done with their Big/Small Divisions. We should steal this idea. Unfortunately, Perry Central I'm sending you to the Small PAC but I think it would be a great fit. Almost everyone would be on Central Time. Almost everyone is right off 64. MSC Big Division (Charlestown, Corydon, North Harrison, Brownstown, Scottsburg, Madison, Silver Creek) MSC Small Division (Eastern, Crawford County, Mitchell, Paoli, Springs Valley, West Washington, Salem) Everyone would have 6 conference games and 3 non-conference teams. I haven't figured it up but I bet the travel expenses would be less with this as well. Also, this would create a really fun 16 team conference for other sports with Austin and Orleans being non-football schools. I don't know much about wrestling but this might help the PLAC wrestling schools as well.

I believe they are collecting applications until December 11th.

Your story reminds me of a funny story too. About a month ago, we played our 6th grade in the Titan Clash. It is a youth tournament Gibson Southern hosts every year. They do a great job with it. Sunday we were playing Memorial. Before the game the coach and I were talking about how the youth programs are set up in the Evansville area. I didn't know how it was done in the area and as far as Memorial, they have like 3 different teams from the feeder schools he said then they picked that group to play in the Titan Clash. They probably had 22-25 kids there. Late in the game, we are kneeling the clock out. I was talking to the official, who is an Evansville area official, about how small physically their kids were and I was surprised with 3 teams, they didn't have some kids that had more size. He basically said, You know when these kids get older, they will all play for Memorial but they won't be the kids that they win with. He said, they will get the dudes that they win with in the next few years. It won't be these kids. I thought that was funny.

Glad I didn't take them up on the private school education now.

Why would you want a state championship knowing you had advantages your competition didn't?

It was very clear the purpose of the transfer was for athletic purposes. My son is a good student. I didn't want to short change him.

The correct answer should be, transfers for athletic purposes are not allowed in Indiana. Shouldn't matter. I'll do that tomorrow.

You know, sometimes I like to do things for entertainment purposes. The other day, I emailed an athletic director at a private school in the state. Basically that my son was getting interest from some small D-1 and NAIA programs and we were interested in transferring him for his senior year to better prepare him for college. Mentioned he is a solid student. Top 10 in his class. Things like that. I feel like the AD probably should have just told me that transfers for athletic reasons aren't allowed in Indiana. However, I was referred to their Enrollment Director to set up a meeting. I didn't take it any further than that.

They weren't included because neither participated in the tournament, so wouldn't factor into the percentages for how many private schools won sectionals/regionals/semi-states/state championships.
