Saw from Sokeland that Mallory went down in the 4Q and never returned again. Their backup QB did take the lead late mid 4Q, but Jasper responded with a 65 yard passing TD on their next drive to quickly retake the lead.

It felt like they would only do divisions if there was 11+ teams in the SIAC.

Boonville and Gibson Southern were their main targets after adding Jasper and Lincoln. Boonville didn’t want to join at all and declined it back in 2019 and the joined the PAC instead. I know the SIAC has reached out already from last year for other schools since Lincoln was leaving, but nothing has come out of it.

I also heard they switched some players around on the O-Line too, but it also felt like the offense was out of sync. Besides a few plays, the defense did play pretty good.

There was a plan to do that about 6 years ago when the SIAC was expanding. They were hoping for 12 teams and conference championship game/week. I believe it was like 3 non conference games, 5 divisional games and Week 9 to be Championship Week.

Jasper’s passing attack (I can’t believe I am saying that) vs Mater Dei’s passing attack will be a fun one to tune info on Friday.

They said one of their main reasons was they didn’t want the games to run late into the night. I know they weren’t too happy with Memorial making the Reitz/Memorial Sectional Championship at 7:00 pm back in 2023. And I think there were some issues with the Castle-Memorial game last year at Bosse Field.

Did anyone figure out the timeout issue around the 0:15 seconds mark. I think it was 1st and goal at the 9 for Memorial. A lot of people were confused who called it.

Don’t know when the last 1 minute down by 14 comeback was (probably a nice trivia question, if it ever had happened). But the last -14 in the 2nd half comeback in recent memory was the 2021 East Central game.
