  2. FINALS 21-16 Memorial over Reitz 60-50 North over Castle 27-13 Gibson Southern over VL
  3. Third straight year for the teams meeting each other! Memorial won it back 17-14 in 2021, but East Central avenged it last year winning it 35-21.

Castle comes into this game as the defending Sectional and Regional Champion, after coming off a Semi-State appearance last year. North is trying to look for its first sectional title since 2000 and will be exactly 23 years tomorrow. The Huskies are having their best season since 2007 going 7-3 and tied for 2nd place in the SIAC. The Huskies did start off slow going 2-2 their first 4 games and looked questionable on the offense and defense. However, the Huskies have won 5 out of their last 6 games and look a lot better. Offensively, the Huskies average around 347 YPG and score on average 31.0 PPG. They will throw the ball, but that has been overshadowed but their running game. As North has the biggest lines on both sides of the ball and has averaged around 212.2 YPG with multiple players that can run. Defensively they started out slow but have developed to be one of the top defenses in the SIAC late in the season, averaging around 212.2 YPG. Their passing game has seen a nice improvement too, only allowing 113.6 YPG on the year and being the only SIAC team to hold opponents under 10 yards per catch. Their run defense left off where it was last year being one of the top run defenses in the SIAC. Just like Reitz, North dominates in the backfield this season totaling over 100 TFLs and 39 sacks on the season. Castle was having a tough season, but has won 4 straight and is trying to win another sectional championship. Offensively, they have been pretty consistent, as they have some of the best running backs in the SIAC. Castle will average around 212.2 YPG and will run most of the time in games. However, while it has been inconsistent at some times, Castle will throw the ball too, since they average a nice 14 yards per catch. And the offensive line has done such a nice job of giving their running backs enough space to go through. And it helps that Castle has a great amount of speed in that backfield. While the offense has done a great job this season, there has been a good amount of inconsistencies defensively. Castle has been ranked pretty low in the SIAC for most of the season. Castle on average gives up 351.6 YPG in their games and has given up on average 21.1 PPG. Even though they have had their inconsistency problems, their passing defense is pretty good, only allowing around 125.0 YPG, and has only allowed 1 game over 200+ passing yards. Just like last year, Castle has struggled on rushing defense, giving up around 226.5 YPG and 6.19 yards per carry. But Castle has found a way and is back in the sectional championship yet again. This one is definitely a game to tune into tomorrow!
  6. Reitz (11-0) (9-0 SIAC) Offense: 35.4 PPG Total Yards: 367.5 YPG/ 48.9% pass/ 51.1% rush Passing: 179.4 YPG/ 66.0 CP%/ 15.41 YPC/ 20 TDs/ 10 INT Rushing: 188.1 YPG/ 5.56 YPC/ 29 TDs Defense: 7.4 PPG Total Yards: 201.5 YPG/ 53.0% pass/ 47.0% rush Passing: 107.5 YPG/ 43.5 CP%/ 12.59 YPC/ 16 INT/ 46 sacks Rushing: 94.0 YPG/ 3.02 YPC/ 9 fumrec Memorial (8-3) (6-3 SIAC) Offense: 22.2 PPG Total Yards: 264.3 YPG/ 58.7% pass/ 41.3% rush Passing: 155.0 YPG/ 59.4 CP%/ 12.27 YPC/ 16 TDs/ 6 INT Rushing: 109.3 YPG/ 3.72 YPC/ 16 TDs Defense: 11.9 PPG Total Yards: 215.5 YPG/ 41.3% pass/ 58.7% rush Passing: 89.0 YPG/ 45.9 CP%/ 13.6 YPC/ 14 INT/ 9 sacks Rushing: 126.5 YPG/ 4.10 YPC/ 4 fumrec Preview Reitz is coming into the sectional championship looking for its first title since the 2016 season. The Tigers are making their 8th straight appearance and looking for a 3rd straight title and 7 titles over the last 8 years. The Panthers have been unblemished throughout the season so far and knocked off a good opponent last week against BNL on the road. The Panthers have been consistently a top as one of the best offensive teams in the SIAC and in 4A. Averaging around 367.5 YPG and 35.3 PPG. Their passing game has been around the top in the SIAC at around 179.4 YPG and averaging 15.41 yards per catch behind their QB/WR duo. Since they have one of the best swiss-army players I have seen with WR/QB Vera and a very good receiver in Summers. Their Offensive line has been solid the entire year too, giving enough time for their QB to throw and their rushing attack to mold. Their rushing attack is still consistent this year after losing Burnett, as the Panthers have a few guys who can run the ball and make some plays. As a team, they average about 188.1 YPG and have scored 29 touchdowns so far. Arguably their best area, the Panthers are a defensive beast everywhere on the field. They live and breathe in opponent backfields gathering 94 TFLs and 46 sacks this year. While holding opponents around 200 YPG and 7.4 PPG. The Tigers are back in the sectional championship again for the 8th straight year since the 2016 season. And they get a home game for the sectional championship for the first time since the 2020 season. Memorial has had an interesting season so far, as they started off 6-0 and then fell into a slumber toward the end of the season. However, the Tigers are on a 2-game win streak in the postseason. Offensively, Memorial had a consistent offense up until QB1’s injury and has been questionable for the last several weeks going through 3 quarterbacks. And has averaged 264.3 YPG throughout the season. The Tigers have found a little something at QB with Ellspermann, however, still a lot of questions regarding offense. The rushing attack has averaged around 109.3 YPG this season and faced an injury bug in the middle of the season. Defensively, this is where the Tigers are strong, as they averaged 11.9 PPG on the season and have averaged around 215 YPG. The Tigers have averaged around 89.0 YPG in passing allowed, which tops the SIAC, and have picked QB 14 times so far. Surprisingly, Memorial’s run defense has seen a massive improvement since last year, as they also have been one of the top rushing defenses in the SIAC averaging around 126.5 YPG. And earlier in the season, led the SIAC in everything for a couple of weeks. The Tigers have playmakers on the defense, including a quick defensive line and one of the best linebackers in the State. Should be a good one tomorrow night at Enlow! But if you remember, Reitz dominated the first matchup winning 34-0 and blanking the Tigers offensively, we will see how this one go for round 2!
  7. Reitz/Memorial and North/Castle previews will be a little bit shorter and will be posted in the next couple of hours
  8. I went back to check and the PPV wall got removed, so I have no idea what was going on.
  9. If VL hosted it, pretty sure they would’ve live-streamed it. Since they do it for all their home games. I haven’t seen anywhere saying it will be live-streamed at all.
  10. I would believe so, gives a lot more time for people trying to get off work and more time to tailgate by the corner. North/Castle was also pushed back because they are expecting a pack house on Friday. I can see them reverting the times back to 7:00 pm next season, since 6:30 pm only made since for playing VL or Jasper.
  11. Memorial/Reitz game will now be at 7:00 pm, looks like North/Castle has also been pushed back to 7:00 pm too
  12. Kickoff for the sectional championship has been pushed to 7:00 pm
  13. Vincennes Lincoln (8-3) (6-3 SIAC) Offense: 30.5 PPG Total Yards: 324.6 YPG/ 29.9% pass/ 70.1% rush Passing: 97.0 YPG/ 59.2 CP%/ 13.33 YPC/ 15 TD/1 INT Rushing: 227.6 YPG/ 7.15 YPC/ 24 TD Defense: 13.0 PPG Total Yards: 269.5 YPG/ 42.6% pass/ 57.4% rush Passing: 114.7 YPG/ 54.4 CP%/ 10.26 YPC/ 14 INT/ 11 sacks Rushing: 154.8 YPG/ 4.81 YPC/ 9 fumrec Gibson Southern (9-2) (5-0 PAC-Big) Offense: 35.6 PPG Total Yards: 388.4 YPG/ 47.9% pass/52.1% rush Passing: 186.2 YPG/ 63.1 CP%/ 11.3 YPC/ 22 TD/ 7 INT Rushing: 202.2 YPG/ 5.5 YPC/ 28 TD Defense: 16.5 PPG Total Yards: 211.6 YPG/ 63% pass / 27%/ rush Passing: 133.3 YPG/ 50.8 CP%/ 11.6 YPC/ 9 INT/ 19 sacks Rushing: 78.3 YPG/ 3.32 YPC/ 5 fumrec Preview A matchup that was highly anticipated before the season began, as last year’s showdown resulted in a shootout at Gibson Southern in the first round. Where the Titans were victorious winning the game, 63-42 with a combined over 1000 total yards. But more will be on the line this time around, as a Sectional Championship will be on the line. Vincennes is looking to snap a 5-game losing streak against the Titans, while the Titans want to continue it and narrow the 12-8 VL series lead. Offensively, GS has been on a roll since Week 5 scoring up 30+ or more points in their 7-game winning streak. They overall possess a strong passing game under their QB, who happens to be one of the best rushers on the team. And has a plethora of receivers to throw too. GS’ starting RB has nearly put up an 1100-yard season with 11 TDs and provides a terrific spark on the field. One of the most balanced offensives in Southern Indiana as it almost split down the middle. Defensively Titans are very good in the trenches only allowing 78 rushing yards per game on 3.32 yards per carry. They have only suffered one game where they allowed 200+ rushing yards, which was against Boyle County (Ky) in Week 1. Since then has shut down most teams in the trenches. The Titans also have a pretty good passing defense too, only allowing around 133 yards per game. And has grabbed 9 interceptions so far on the season and allowed 11.63 yards per catch. Seems like most teams are willing to pass more, rather than run the ball. The Titans also love living in the backfield totaling up to 92 TFL on the season, with a ⅓ of those coming from one of their starting D-linemen (32 TFL). The Alices are still having their best season in the SIAC and are hoping to make it even better by winning a sectional championship. And avenge last year's loss to Gibson Southern in the first round. Offensively, everyone looks like their QB1, who is basically a Swiss army knife as he can be anywhere on the field with his talent and speed. And as a team, they have put up good points averaging 30.5 PPG, and have gotten a lot better with their QB1 fully back. Since they scored only 6 points in the last 3-week stretch of the regular season. The Alices also have a good RB1 who has a little over 900 yards on the season averaging around 6.3 yards per carry and as a team average of 7.1 yards per carry. Since their rushing game is primarily their strongest point on the offense. But, passing-wise, the Alices also have 3 players that have 200+ total yards on the season. Defensively, the Alices have gotten a lot better on their pass defense throughout the season. From being around 170 YPG in the early season, they have managed to drop it all the way down to around 114 YPG. While allowing 1 game over 100+ yards since Week 5. They also have picked up 14 interceptions so far this season and have dropped their YPC to down to 10.26 YPC. The rushing defense has seen its fair share of games as the season progresses as they allow 154 YPG, and has struggled a bit with the run-heavy offenses in the SIAC. However, there has been a lot of improvement too, since for a while, VL was hanging around the high 200/ low-mid 300 total YPG for a bit. And since Week 6 they have only allowed 44 points and 4 shutouts.
  14. MasseyRating: North at Castle (-3), 56% chance of winning for the Knights Reitz (-13) at Memorial, 83% chance of winning for the Panthers VL (+6) at GS, 61% chance of winning for the Titans
  15. MasseyRating Reitz (-13) at Memorial, 83% chance of winning for the Panthers
  16. Actually, I don’t think I have created a sectional championship thread before, figure most of the talk would be on here
  17. I haven’t seen any highlights/film on him, but strictly looking at the stats, he has already thrown for 5 TDs, but has only rushed for 15 yards in the 2 games he has back in. Likely since they didn’t want him running the play against weaker opponents and avoiding another injury.
