This is the last year for closed conference for the SIAC, as Vincennes is leaving to the WIC in 2026. Since they wanted to go to conference that fits them better. They did have a nice 2023 season in the SIAC, but they couldn’t get a lot momentum in their other years. However, they did make it to the Sectional Championship back in 2021 and 2023. Jasper has been great addition to the SIAC overall and has been competitive (with other sports too). Jasper also went 9-0 in the SIAC during the 2021 season before their early exit to Northview. They also brought in a new coach this year, Derek Hart, and he has a new offense and defense compared to previous Jasper’s teams. It will be interesting to see how they will do in the postseason, since they’ve struggled since joining.

Speaking of Jasper, wonder how they did against Heritage Hills last week for their scrimmage? Very intrigued with their new offense under Hart.

He was pretty electric in the Sectional Championship game last year on passing and rushing. Believe he ended up having close to 200 yards and 2 TDs on the ground. I think he also had a few good tackles too and had a sack on a 4th and 2. We couldn’t do much to stop him, I was amazed he only had a FCS offer at the time.

I’m assuming since Nero took over, he will probably be using his same scheme on Defense again. Maybe he will change some things since they do return most of their guys on defense. Not sure about the offense, since they did lose a ton to graduation. I believe 14news did a North preview last week, I’ll try to find that one.

Probably won’t know some of the non-conferences games until after the season if I had to guess

New turf up at North

I’ve driven by it a couple of times before by Whihala Beach, very underrated stadium. I do love how it faces Lake Michigan and I’m sure the views are spectacular at night. Although the wind chill is probably pretty bad up there in late October/November haha.

Yup, very intrigued to see what a primary Spread Offense from Jasper looks like after long years of the wishbone. And how Memorial’s offense looks under a new QB.
