The Castle-Memorial annual game will now be called “Cake Eater Bowl”

The last time Castle strolled into Enlow….
-
Already camping at Memorial’s tailgating spot at Enlow, might get kicked by security in the morning, but a nice Tigerfan20’s Hot Chocolate makes everyone happy

Harrison’s defensive yards allows will be a little bit off from now on, as Central’s offensive stats from Week 7 are not available to public, anywhere.

North at Central Central is on the verge of getting their first winless season since 1985. Can’t do much to avoid that with North and Reitz coming up. Give me the Huskies in a running clock Bosse at Harrison Should be a pretty decent matchup between these 2, as they usually fight off until the final minute. I think this is going to be a fun one overall watching Harrison’s QB Brown and Bosse’s QB Wagner going at it. However, give me the Warriors by 12 Vincennes at Jasper Lots of good matchups this rivalry weekend including this one. Jasper is rolling right now winning 3 straight and peaking at the right time, that squad loves to RTDB. Vincennes, on the other hand, has faced back to back losses to North and Memorial. But they have the tools in place to make this a game. Give me the the Wildcats by 10, as they carry their momentum Castle at Memorial Enlow Field. Kickoff temperature around 60 degrees and wind. Nothing better than that. Seems like Castle has been mixing up QBs lately with Bishop starting against Jasper/Central and RB McCool has been excellent replacing Guerizini. Now the question is that will Castle DL be able to handle Memorial’s OL. Memorial has been able to overcome from 2 early season losses and his position itself for a chance at 2nd place (just like Castle). With a strong backfield and trio of receivers, the Offense has been a lot better recently. Will be interesting to see how the Defense will do against another Dual threat QB tomorrow night and a solid RB. I have a feeling this one will go back and forth, but give me the Tigers late by 7. Game of the Week. Reitz “at” Mater Dei This game has been circled since the beginning of offseason, whether it was the final game for the Conference Championship or the rich tradition between the teams. Mater Dei has made a pretty good regular season, as they have high hopes in the postseason. With an Offense led by senior QB Wunderlich who is inching to get back to the 2A State Finals, has plenty to throw too in the receiving core. Lots of solid/veteran players in the defensive front too, with Adler, Martin, Darr, and more. Reitz has been a very amazing team so far this season winning the SIAC outright and being 8-0. Reitz Offense has been stellar with QBs of Davies/Vera and an excellent receiving core with Summers/Thomas. Not to mention the massive OL, that has made lanes for RB Burnett to lead the SIAC in rushing. However, that Defense is dominant and will wear a team down very quick with their speed. With one of the quickest DL in the SIAC with Oxley, Utley, and Brantley. Mater Dei will be able to play Reitz pretty close in my opinion. However, the amount of 2-way players maybe their downfall in this one. Whereas Reitz only has a couple and plentiful in the depth too. Mater Dei keeps it close until the 3rd quarter, but Reitz will pull this out in 4th quarter and wins this one by 16.

Best/Worst Sectional Draws

Not the greatest draw for them at all, especially since they want to make some noise in the postseason, should be an exciting matchup too -

Had the same though, even if they lose by like 10 or 14, they can garner up some momentum heading into next week -
While the 2022 season is slowing getting closer to over. A little sneak peak for the 2023 season for what I have in store…. SIAC returning production (finally) More in-depth break down on weekly games New Offensive/Defensive stats And more stuff throughout the offseason But until then, let’s enjoy the season while it lasts!

Have to beat Vincennes first, then yes, Jasper has had a great turnaround this season after dropping 2-3 after Week 5
-
Some small outlooks for the other games: Bosse/Harrison is going to be a fun matchup regardless of record. Bosse has nice offensive talent in Wagner/Thomas/Hope. Harrison with a nice trio or Brown/Terry/Jackson. North/Central game won’t be as interesting in the years to come, as both teams are going opposite directions. The fun for this one is on Twitter unfortunately. Vincennes/Jasper, oh boy this is going to be an interesting one, as Vincennes wants to make a statement before the start of the postseason. Whereas Jasper wants to keep riding into momentum with a likely matchup with Memorial in the future and a potential showdown against Jasper. Castle/Memorial, oh boy both teams hate each other when this game is played. Will be interesting how the run game turns out in this one, especially in the trenches between Memorial’s OL and Castle’s DL. Both teams have lots of talent on each side of the ball, ranging from Castle’s Purdy to Memorial’s Johnson. This is going to be a very fun matchup in 48 hours.

Strong feeling that Reitz O will exploit it in the 2nd Half, as MD played about 5-7 2-way players against Memorial in Week 4
-
Reitz "at" Mater Dei, lots of questions in this one, throw the records out for this one judging from years prior. Should be a packed crowd and a heck of a game, question for Mater Dei is whether they are able to keep it up with Reitz, as MD does have a large amount of 2-way players, unlike Reitz. Going to be a lot of passing in this game for Mater Dei in my opinion.

Would be nice having a home sectional final, although recent history has shown Memorial does better with away games the last 6 years (5-1, only sectional final loss at home in 2020). Although if it is indeed Memorial at Reitz in the Final, not too sure about that one. But I am glad we get a rematch with Jasper finally in the sectional, something that has been highly anticipated since the beginning of the year. Jasper seems like they are peaking at the right time becoming more healthy each week. Going back to Harrison/Boonville, I am intrigued with this matchup since Harrison has improved this season, with a nice variety of talent. But, Boonville is also a different time from last year as they have been playing some pretty good ball and battling out for the PAC Big School championship this week against Gibson Southern. Honestly, can it be Sectional Week already? -
Maybe 14news is doing the game
