Week 9 Observations
North takes care of business and shuts down Central the entire game, the Huskies will rest up this weekend. Central goes winless in the conference, as they inch closer to a winless season.
A nice turnaround for Harrison as they end the season 3-6, looks like Harrison has found their future QB. Harrison will play Boonville in an interesting matchup. Bosse gave an solid effort against Harrison, however, the Dawgs will face Memorial in R1.
Jasper is ROLLING right now having won 4 straight games heading into their bye Week and likely matchup with Memorial in the SF. Vincennes has now lost 3 straight games with various mistakes, it gets harder for the Alices, as they face Gibson Southern in the first round.
This was an exciting game, but Memorial prevails over Castle in the “Cake Eater Bowl”, behind a 210+ rushing yard performance by Porter Rode. Memorial has won 6 out of 7 games after starting 0-2 and tied for 2nd place. Castle gave a nice effort, as they had me on edge in the 2H. Bishop to Aigner combo is extremely good. However, mistakes costs the Knights in this one and end the season going 1-3 in their final 4 games. Knights hope to regain their confidence once 5A starts.
Reitz vs Mater Dei. This game was well advertised, as it sounds like this was an exciting matchup. Reitz wins the games 14-7 in a great defensive performance by Oxley and Co. Questions do arise from the passing game, but that running game is deadly against teams with Vera/Oxley(FB)/Burnett. Mater Dei really surprised me as they kept it close with Reitz until the final play. Sounds like MD defense kept them in the game, while the offense did struggle. Overall, this teams are likely built to play games in November!
