Quote: “I want to spend more time with my family.”
Translation: “The talent pool is about to dry up and/or sanctions are forthcoming.”
Am I doing this right?
You’re clueless.
Go ahead and explain why you dislike BD or it’s people so much...
Mike Kirschner and his staff would never have done anything to cause sanctions. To even say that shows how little you know about this man or his character. He loves Ben Davis and Wayne Twp. Kids graduated from the school and all. Extremely involved. Went to many sporting events during his time at BD and was a huge presence in the community. He’s now pushing 60 and his grandkids that he wants to be with which is next to impossible at a 6A program with state and national expectations annually. I applaud this man for putting his family first. Stepping into MV has so much less pressure, especially when the program has little success in the past. They also play 4A ball in an area that isn’t exactly a booming area for football. Win win for someone with his faith and love for his family to start riding into the sunset.
Talent is washed up though, it’s a miracle they’re in first place in the lowly MIC. Contraction of the MIC is near.
BTW, less than 400 people total tonight at Carmel for the state title rematch tonight. Shouldn’t matter if it’s raining. It’s packed up the road at Hamilton Heights. Guess us Hounds and the Warriors should get rid of our programs, or maybe Hamilton Heights and Lewis Cass can join the HCC. We certainly aren’t going to do them any favors.

The “MIC is the best conference in the Midwest/America” narrative has been shoved down our throats for so long that the notion that another conference “might be close/equal/better” is causing some to get pretty defensive.
I just hope the goalposts don’t move if Avon/Brownsburg represents the south and Carmel gets bounced in sectional 4.
Then the whole season would probably be an “outlier” I assume?
You just make me question you more and more that you actually graduated from a MIC school.

Wait a second...wasn’t the entire premise of this thread for Carmel and CG to leave the MIC because their other conference foes don’t travel well (ie pull their weight like CG and Carmel)????
Now Carmel doesn’t travel particularly well either?
Geez you’re all over the place.
This did get to 7 pages, congrats I guess?
I would agree, this thread is a joke and all about opening mouth and inserting foot.

Carmel does not travel particularly well either. Ive seen some sparse Copper Kettle crowds at Center Grove on the CA side over the years.
I think Carmel would travel better in The HCC. More natural geographic rivals
Lol wasn’t the point of this post that Carmel travels well along with CG.
Go ahead, start back pedaling.
I can tell you this isn’t the case. Kids in the Indy area have way more to do these days and they hardly ever travel to games anymore. Even the Copper Kettle game has seen attendance dwindle.

Most, if not all, of the MIC stadium renovations were privately funded.
Pot. Stir.

1. BD was NOT in fact missing “many starters” and their studs all played.
2. Why are MIC teams that are senior heavy allowed to reload but HCC teams aren’t? Enrollment outside of Carmel, BD and WC are similar.
3. I never brought up basketball. This is a FOOTBALL forum, right?
1.) They were. I know many of the coaches personally. I’ve had these conversations. I know exactly who was missing and for what reason.
2.) LOL, funniest thing I’ve ever heard. I never said they weren’t allowed to reload. When BD who struggled last year and WC this year you have consistently said the torch is being passed to the HCC, or Avon or Brownsburg. Avon and Brownsburg have been in 6A for just as long as both of those two, they might be better for one year here and there but it’s not happening long term.
3.) We are talking about a CONFERENCE which includes all sports if you haven’t forgotten. When you bring up the MIC, that includes everything. When you talk about moving CG and Carmel out of the MIC (which I can assure you is not being discussed except for 2 people, one who stirs up trouble and the other who is the HCC cheerleader), then it encompasses all sports.
For a MIC dude, you sure do dog the conference quite heavily.

A North Central team that is probably tied with BD for the hottest team in 6A right now...(that same BD team that got curb stomped by Avon and Brownsburg).
I'll even go a step farther and say that HSE/Fishers would be a pick em game with Carmel if the sectional were this Friday...
Man, getting in the MIC lovers' feelings is so easy and such a great past time...
Ben Davis was also missing a number of starters the first 3 weeks of the season.
I still think if you put the MIC up against the HCC, no way the HCC dominates...
Let’s also keep in mind that Avon and Brownsburg are VERY SENIOR HEAVY! The MIC will dominate them in 2020.
Again, let’s not even talk basketball. The MIC WON over 80% of their games against the HCC last year and I think that gap will widen in 2020.

The HCC is definitely light years behind in basketball. MIC won 4 sectionals in basketball and had the top 5 teams in Sagarin and 7 of the top 10. Average Sagarin rating was 10.75. Only North Central was down and they had a team full of sophomores. The MIC did not lose to teams outside of their conference in the tournament.
HCC average rating was 28.25 and they considered last year a great year in basketball. Zionsville and Avon won sectionals, but I don’t expect either to win this year.
Football this year, HCC average Sagarin is 11.5 in 6A, MIC average 10.375. I would still argue that even with the HCC having Avon and Brownsburg with their two best teams ever, that the MIC is still better on a down year. Warren, BD, and CG will all be elite next year with Carmel having a solid season while Avon and Burg take a step back and we’ll just be going in circles again that the HCC is creeping up. MIC teams are going to widen the gap in 2020, book it. Again, as I mentioned earlier, I don’t see a shift. College grads are actually moving back into Indy because they want to be in the city. The shift you’re expecting to see, I just don’t see it.
MIC was 25-5 against the HCC in basketball last year.
If you’re only in it for money, move. If not, the MIC makes sense right now in the two sports that generate the most publicity.

Love how the MIC has had 16 of the last 19 champions in football, the last 3 in basketball (including 5 of 6 finalists), yet it's fading. Lawrence Central will most likely win 4A basketball this year and Carmel will most likely be their opponent. Ben Davis, Carmel and Center Grove were in the Final 4 in basketball last year.
HCC is a country club conference right now and I can assure you Carmel wants no part of it with our biggest sports.
Avon and Brownsburg both lose large senior classes in football this year, so we'll see where they're at next year. HSE hasn't gone anywhere in football. Noblesville still bad. Westfield, eh, mediocre. FC, not good. Zionsville, not good. I'll stick with MIC football.
BESIDES, by the time the shift does happen, it'll shift back because more and more people are starting to move back into the city. College grads prefer to be in Indy vs the burbs.

Giants looked real solid last night. They might be a popular choice in the south.
Carmel I believe will still win their sectional, and I think has a schedule strong enough to prepare them for tournament time.

Hard for teams such as BD and WC that rely heavily on speed to do much in this weather.
