  1. Are you telling me the flu vaccine works? I got it this year and tested positive for the flu twice. Since you appear to be well versed in proving stuff wrong, what is it you think we should do for the next 2 years before the vaccine comes out that won't work?
  2. Yea its easy to pick out all the negatives. I was doing that a couple weeks ago. Everyone is saying 18 months. We had a vaccine for swine flu in like 6 months from the time it hit US soil. I agree vaccines will not solve this. There are some interesting numbers coming out from antibody tests and from people that are asymptotic. This virus is running its course full speed ahead. And eventually it will do just that run its course. I would bring up some of the new treatments and protocols that are on the verge of being groundbreaking, but someone would tear them apart too. Just the world we live in.
  3. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-17/oxford-vaccine-veteran-lays-out-coronavirus-immunization-plans. Its in trials now
  4. I keep saying it.... we are going to have a treatment by then. Also Oxford University is saying they have a vaccine that if all goes ok will be available by early September. Team that up with a decent treatment and ppe and football is on. Lets all hope.
  5. I can honestly say that I can see a world wear proper PPE for game admittance is the new norm. Atleast a cloth mask. You could have team colored masks.
  6. Couple things on that... First, I was all doom and gloom and still have some of that in me. I am on the front lines of this. I was in a house yesterday where the whole family was positive and they had to call 911 for gma that had to get taken in. My wife is also in the medical field and is an ICU nurse. So to say that I am uninformed is not true. I just know that the protocol changes daily for both of us. SO SO much has changed in 3 weeks. I just feel better about it.
  7. We have made so many advances in treatment and testing in the last 6 weeks. Football is 14 weeks out until August. Due to China withholding information, this virus has only been worked on by some of the best medical minds in the world for 6 weeks. Let that set in. In another 6 weeks, if we make the strides we keep making, we will be WAY better off let alone 14 weeks. 3 weeks ago we were being told up to 240,000 deaths, that is down to now under 60,000. That is even with New York padding there stats. Hospitals are not even close to capacity of ICU beds. There are empty hospitals that were supposed to be full. They set up a couple thousand field hospital in Washington state, never used. New York NEVER used the Navy's hospital ship. Do not get drowned by watching the media. Is this bad... .YES. It is just not all doom and gloom, we are doing good. Keep up the work and we may see football come August or September. My bet is that we have a treatment by then. A vaccine will not cut this out, it will continue to mutate. We just need a treatment that keeps people out of the hospital and ICU..
  8. Class of 2021 Hobarts Zach Vode picks up another offer yesterday from Army. That adds to his list of Miami of Ohio, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, NIU, Ball State, Bowling green, and Illinois State. Him along with fellow Hobart Class of 2021 Bobby Babcock (Ohio, Eastern Mich, Central Mich, Illinois State) have been getting lot of interest this off season. I saw them play last year a little and they and the Bricks could make some noise this year.. Congrats to those 2
  9. I honestly do believe that. I can assure you that there is nothing more I want than to play football this year. I just honestly think that we will not relax social distancing fully enough to do so until there is a way to treat this thing. I hope I am wrong, but I watch this thing develop at work and it is bad.
  10. Two things on that. I think over a vaccine, is a viable treatment. Something that keeps the majority out of hospital. Secondly, H1N1 came to USA in April 2009, we had a vaccine by September 2009 that was distributed. They can do it....will they? I don't know.
  11. Bottom line is if there is not a viable successful treatment or vaccine. Football at all levels is out.. Bears just signed onto a "We are not playing" campaign. To try and help people stay in.
  12. The easy thing to do would be to sit back and wait. The hard part would be to make a plan when it cancels. We should be working on a plan now.. Rumblings are NCAA is going to play in spring https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/football_ncaa/2020-college-football-season-reportedly-could-be-played-in-spring-2021/ar-BB12c8Gg. We can not be complacent to what's happening. I never said move it now, but to just start the conversation. I'm on the frontline of this, and it's not getting better anytime soon. Also I did not mean 7 on 7. I meant 7 man football, where you still play with I think 3 linemen.
  13. I am in no means saying that it is the right answer, I am brainstorming. I do however think that it is a REAL possibility that the season is going to not be on in the fall. NFL and NCAA are already mentioning it. Unless we find a treatment or a cure I dont think our social distancing restrictions will be lifted to more than 50 people in a place. Its a unprecedented time. I also do not think that schools will start next year on Elearning, I think they will postpone the starting of school and go straight through the following sumer if need be. Under normal circumstances I wouldnt want to make a kid choose either, or stretch coaching staffs, but this is different. Let a kid choose. It is not a normal time. If he is a baseball kid playing football, let him play baseball. If he is a football kid playing baseball, let him play football. Its a un-normal thing, because its an un-normal time and circumstance. I know at our school it would be about 7 kids in that spot out of 80 on the team. So we cant let 7 kids having to make a decision affect the other 73. There are some of those remaining 73 that would not even care about school if it wasnt for football. Now I also thought about the small school thing. That one I am open to ideas lol. I understand that small schools have an issue fielding teams. Obviously we could let schools opt out and combine 1a and 2a. Or have an option for 7 man football at the 1a and 2a levels. I understand the logistics would be hard, but thats why I brought it up now. We should be thinking about it now.
  14. I honestly think for the betterment of all student athletes, the IHSAA should have a BACKUP plan to play football in the spring with a shortened regular season. Let the kids decide. If it's a baseball kid, let him play baseball. At this point it's not about what a kid does, it's about letting all kids experience their sport and having something to be excited about again. 6-8 game season, with playoffs. Not that I think they should pull the trigger early, just have a plan.
  15. I can assure you that everyone I talked to from the staff to the kids are very humbled, and by know means are taking anything lightly or are cocky at all. Nothing but good things to hear about East Noble from everyone. I can't wait to watch what could be a great Semi State game between two solid programs trying to relive the echoes.
  16. Mr. Ts pizza https://www.tspizzahobart.com/ Right near downtown on 3rd street. Good wings too. As far as game goes.. this one could go either way. If you take away points scored on JV or turnovers the Brickies Defense would have shutout the whole conference. Andrean scores 10 in the last 1:20 of game. Lowell scores 7 with a minute left. KV scores on a fumble by the bricks offense on the first play of the game. There defense has been fun to watch. +27 on takeaway margin as a team. On the other hand NP brings a different style of play into town Friday. Bricks are going to have to play bigger than there size, if they want to match up.CMA game is a wash. Brickies had 9 seniors become eligible week 4 and they didnt really start playing until week 5. 5 of those 9 are starters I believe, with the other 4 contributing often. The Brickies offense has found a rythm. As mentioned above they will keep prodding getting 3-4 yards... then those turn to 7 then hit big.. it should be a fun game to watch. In my eyes the Brickies are the underdog anyway you look at it. Still could be a decent November game.
  17. Dave Coyle is not on staff. Him and Renn were last year, but left after the season from what I understand. Looking at the the program it lists Craig Osika, Shaun Zoladz, Bob Foster, Robert Segudevic, Doug Bloom, Terrence Turner, Josh Mehay, Steve Mcyntre, Bryan Wesley, Dave Tipold, Justin Evans, Tom Kerr, Steve Balash, Dave Grabcazk.
