CG loaded!
How many D1 players projected on the 2020 roster?
Booker DE
Curry DE
Jackson QB
Schott OLB
Steele ?? RB
As of right now, I believe those are the only guys on the 2020 roster that hold D1 offers. This team will be very fun to watch next season

Tayven Jackson got his first offer: Central Michigan
-
Caden Curry picked up an offer from Missouri

Booker gets another offer: Vanderbilt

Steele picked up an offer from Southern Illinois

@Temptation the current drive time for New Pal to each MIC school. Monrovia who I have coached for took rides like this each Friday and Mondays while playing away from home.
New Pal to Ben Davis-40 min
New Pal to North Central-40 min
New Pal to Carmel-45 min
New Pal to LC-30 min
New Pal to LN-35 min
New Pal to Pike-50 min
New Pal to Warren- 22 min
New Pal to center Grove-44 min
It’s not about the drive, it’s about the sports other than football and softball that NP would get curb stomped in by the MIC

also might look to throw a touch more. do forget about Delp and Evans
I would expect Delp to play more split end, and slot. Thanks for pointing out Evans as well, forgot that he was out with injury also

Maybe these guys are being used too much
The lifespan of a RB is rather short relative to other positions on the field. There may be a perception amongst recruiters that perhaps 1200 carries over a 4 year high school career has taken some time off the back end of their career
I wouldn’t expect Steele’s load to be as heavy next year. He will still get the most carries out of all the backs, but with Weems having a year under his belt now, the load for Steele might be taken down just a bit. Also having Brandon Wheat fully healthy at the wingback position will help.

If I am wrong please tell me but Spegal was not at new pal his first 2 years
You would be correct. He was at Delta for his first two years

Charlie and Carson share one unfortunate trait. A lack of open field speed.
Steele is not listed on the Top 15 Indiana Class of 2021, which ranges from 4 star to 2 star players. He is likely a 1 star back, rated below Spegal at this point in their careers.
Steele is likely to have the better college career as Indiana State is an excellent potential fit.

Being injured his whole junior season did no favors for Steele. Could be a 3 or 4 star back by next year POSSIBLY.

Carson Steele is his own. Charlie Spegal is his own. Not fair to compare.
I think this is the 1st of many D1 offers. If he is able to return to being the back he was before injuries he will be highly sought after by many non-P5 schools (and I think a few P5 schools).
Well sure you can compare them. Both have a unique set of skills that could work better in one offense or another.

Congrats to the young man.
Is this the thread where we compare Steele to Spegal?
I’d say that we could/should. Great way to spark some off season conversation

Same here, most would’ve thought they would’ve been one of the first to offer him
