I would sure hope that one of the biggest schools in 2A would have some success in that class. It would be pretty embarrassing if you didn't. Kind of like how embarrassing it would be if you don't win the PAC small school title ever year.
I don't understand though... You are the biggest team in the PAC... Why don't you win every year? You also have more than 100 more students than Memorial... Why didn't you ever beat them? I just don't understand. The bigger school is ALWAYS supposed to win. - Otherwise that would be SUPER EMBARRASSING.

How many times has Southridge beat GS since Buening has been your coach? That would be 0!
What is the total score from those games? That would be GS 268 to SR 115!
Enjoy all your small school titles.
Hahahaha. Call me when you start to have a little post season success.. Don't forget, we are a 2A team playing up because of our success. Keep being proud of yourselves for coming up short!

Yeah that rematch would be awesome, because I think GS shows it's not even close....just like every other year of Buening's tenure. Based on what I have seen coming in the lower levels I would say SR made the right call signing up to be in the small team division of the PAC.
Which game makes you say it is not even close (Between GS and Southridge)?
Was it the "Running Clock" Game GS had against HH? - GS looked stellar in that game.
The last second Hail Mary against Southridge (Which was a very close game)?
Or was it your "back-and-fourth" win against 3A POWERHOUSE Salem?
Fancy me, why dontcha...

It is a shame this sectional is getting lost on page 3 of the threads. I really think this GS vs HH game will be a nail-biter down to the end. The Southridge fan in me would love to see GS win (Because i think we would take care of business this time around). However, I hate hearing about Gibson Southern when they have proved nothing...ever. But if you ask any news station in southern Indiana, GS is the best team since the '72 Dolphins.

This is how we approached tonight's game. We basically did the same thing we had done all season. Most of our kids have never played football before in their lives and the 5 who had, 3 went down early in the season and only 1 made it back. So, we use our practice time trying to make our kids better and get them ready for next season. We basically do the same in the games as well. So for tonight, you will see one kid at RB who has carried the ball very little in his career, and one who had to be moved to RB during the week due to injury. We tried to get our kids ready to play a game this week and not necessarily prepare them to play Mater Dei. We probably haven't said "Mater Dei" in practice but a few times this week. We didn't watch film of Mater Dei as a group because again we have been focusing inward and honestly I didn't think it would do our kids a lot of good to worry about the differences in our 2 situations. I didn't want my 5-9 120 lb. freshman worrying how he was going to cover that 6-5 210 lb. senior. I wanted him to worry about getting better as a player. Was this the right way to approach the game? Hopefully. If not, at least I thought it was the best way to do it.
Great way to go about it. If i have any advice to those CC kids, it is to have fun tonight... Learn from their opponents, watch their line and how they play. The discipline of a top tier program like Mater Dei is really fun to watch. Obviously, go out there and play hard, but like you said, focus on getting better play-by-play. Good Luck tonight coach.

The Warriors have to be pretty happy with their draw! It would appear they will be in the sectional final. Best of luck!
I would not get to ahead of yourselves on this one. FP and Tell City can compete with anyone on their side of the bracket. They also shouldn't overlook South Spencer as they have some athletes on their team who can single handily win a game on the right night.
I believe this side of the bracket will have more exciting games than the top side. MD is just too strong of a team this year.

From someone with no dog in the fight. This looks like a tough one to call. Both teams lost to HH by 35 points. Both teams are 5 - 1 against common opponents. GS is 9th in the 3A Sags (62.62) while SR is 12th (60.38). GS's other loss is a road game by only 8 points to 6A Southport (6 - 2). Harrell predicts GS will win by 4 points. Since it is so close, I'll go with the home cookin', and take Southridge. Would this be considered a "mild" upset? Just wondering.
I would say a very "mild" upset at most... only because Southridge is a 2A school according to enrollment (Success factor bumps them up). GS has 200+ more students in their school as Southridge is the smallest 3A football school in the state. That is where I would give the "Edge" to GS.

I can assure you, there will be no seating shortage at this game! i believe this is the first time Gibson has played at the "New" raider field since it has been remodeled.
If you get into town early, I highly recommend either Gaslight or Mama T's on 4th street for dinner.

Southridge has about 7 spots to fill next year. Most notable are the big shoes of Cole Calvert and Sam Schroeder - Both 2-way starters. The current Junior class is much larger (Starters wise).

Dont trust the news...
I don't usually. But unlike CNN, they had facts including pictures of Reitz "R"'s plastered on Mater Dei's campus.

No one likes Reitz. Even Reitz fans when they can't defend The Hill.
Heard on the news this morning that some Reitz students vandalized/defaced parts of Mater Dei HS yesterday in anticipation of this weekends game. Real class act on their part!

In my opinion, it wont be long before we see this trend of female kickers moving on to the next level. Not sure we will ever see it in the NFL, but college seems much more realistic.

Without getting into specifics, how banged up were HH and GS. How many Titans played two ways compared to Patriots.
On the HH secondary, I think some people forget how good of an all-around athlete Sigler was at IU. HH is finally starting to get another round of legacy athletes. I expect a drop over the next few years, but once some of the 1990s and 2000s players have children, they will have some strong runs.
I think the same is true at Jasper in football and Southridge. Good thing the HH school system brought in Mr Sherry when they did. Sam playing at Southridge would make them a scary good 2A basketball team this year.
Simon... but whose counting...

Wait I don't get it??? Why is this a joke???
In what world is Gibson Southern the 3rd best team in Southern Indiana... ABOVE Evv Memorial!? this is absurd. Not taking anything away from HH. The top 3 teems on any given day are HH, Central, and Memorial. I'm not sure Gibson has proven themselves to be in the top 7 on this list yet. They have ZERO notable wins this year.

What happened to all the Reitz Panther posters that have overwhelmed this site over the years? Do they still attend games or have they abandoned ship?
They transferred to Gibson Southern...

Heritage Hills stated their case that they deserve some recognition for the best 3A south team in the state after their Romping of Gibson Southern! This Friday will tell more truth as they face off against also Undefeated 3A team, Southridge!
-
Really excited to see this game. IMO Southridge hasn't really been tested since the first two weeks of the year! Also excited to see what we can do when we're forced to play the full 4 quarters (hopefully).

So are you saying that you don't believe SR has a chance?
I don't think this was a shot at Southridge... You gotta win this one to win conference...

And I believe the winner of Sectional 32 will represent the South in 3A.

I was looking around for film on that hit and could not find, but I have heard it was quite obviously late, intentional, and overall just bad form. Too bad and completely unnecessary.
Anyway, I hope the QB is okay and plays Friday.
Check earlier in the thread. there is a few videos of it from earlier this week. Also, it wasn't necessarily a late hit, however, it was a clear helmet-to-helmet hit. Allen is lucky to not have a concussion after that one.

Completely agree!!! Too many kids think they HAVE to commit to one sport instead of be competitive in two or three, and football is always the sport dropped "because it's too dangerous"! I can tell you right now there a several, and I mean several kids that could, and should be playing football at HH are not!!
Colson Montgomery - Southridge:
Arguably one of the best athletes/quarterbacks in the state. Lost him to Baseball and Basketball. One of the few athletes that is almost "Too Good" to play Football.
