  1. My buddy and his buddy thought I was being too harsh with this pick. Granted, I didn’t think it would be THAT bad but I feel like I deserve a little credit for this one. 1A #6/#10 Springs Valley 57 Jennings County 7 Final
  2. Floyd Central 42 Jeffersonville 0 Final
  3. Columbus East 54 New Albany 14 Final
  4. Still need week 5 picks from @boilerfan87, @Impartial_Observer, and @mamasa
  5. Week 5 Picks Columbus East (2-2, 1-0 HHC) at New Albany (1-3, 0-1 HHC): The Olympians lead the all-time series with the Bulldogs 29-6. East has won the last four and 23 of the last 24. East has also won the last 12 games at New Albany with the last loss there being in 2002. This will be the closest game of the three. I have East by two to three TDs. Jeffersonville (1-3, 1-1 HHC) at 5A #5/#6 Floyd Central (4-0, 1-0 HHC): The Highlanders took the lead in the series over the Red Devils last year which was the first time since 1981. Jeff led it 24-10 after their game in 2009 but Floyd Central has won six straight and 18 of the last 21 to take a 28-27 lead. Floyd Central wins by at least 35 here. Cue the running clock. Seymour (0-4, 0-3 HHC) at BNL (3-1, 2-0 HHC): This has been a pretty even series lately with the Stars and Owls splitting the last 12 matchups with six wins apiece. Seymour leads the overall series 26-25 but BNL will look to win consecutive games for the first time since 2018 and 2019. I don’t foresee them having any trouble doing so. A running clock wouldn’t surprise me.
  6. I don’t see any picks
  7. Week 5 Schedule Columbus East (2-2, 1-0 HHC) at New Albany (1-3, 0-1 HHC) Jeffersonville (1-3, 1-1 HHC) at 5A #5/#6 Floyd Central (4-0, 1-0 HHC) Seymour (0-4, 0-3 HHC) at BNL (3-1, 2-0 HHC) Only week during the season where all the teams are playing each other. Pretty sure picks will be unanimous this week so, if the site is down for maintenance issues, it shouldn’t affect anything if we don’t count them.
  8. I think eight football members is enough. You need non-conference games to see where you’re at with the rest of the state.
  9. If that’s the case then it blows up my prediction. I’m intrigued.
  10. @ptr I’ve been looking at the HHC teams’ schedules as well as Bloomington South’s to try and figure out how the conference schedule could look next year. The easy fix would be to plug Bloomington South into the spot Madison once occupied in the HHC schedule. This would ensure all teams get three home games and three road games in conference play. Here’s what that would look like. Potential 2027 Bloomington South Schedule Week 1: Bloomington North Week 2: Martinsville Week 3: at Floyd Central Week 4: Jeffersonville Week 5: Greenfield-Central Week 6: at New Albany Week 7: Columbus East Week 8: at BNL Week 9: Seymour This would give South six home games and three road games. Terre Haute North, Muncie Central, Columbus North, Ironton (OH), Brebeuf Jesuit, and Center Grove would all be dropped from the schedule as those games are during the weeks South would be playing HHC teams. However, I could easily see Greenfield-Central being dropped and Columbus North being moved up from week 6 to week 5 to take their place. With Columbus North being independent and with this being a classic rivalry, it would make logical sense. In doing so, the game would be at Columbus North next year since South is hosting them this year. This would mean South would have five home games and four road games instead. If South plugs into Madison’s old spot on the HHC schedule then BNL will be removing Scottsburg from their schedule in week 8, Columbus East will be removing Chatard in week 7, Floyd Central will be removing Silver Creek in week 3, Jeffersonville will be removing Kokomo in week 4, New Albany will be removing Silver Creek in week 6, and Seymour will be removing Crispus Attucks in week 9. Considering the travel distances or the outmatched nature of most of these games, I think the HHC teams would be willing to drop these teams. The only exception would be New Albany having to give up Silver Creek, but that could easily be fixed with moving that game to week 3. Floyd Central would be giving up Silver Creek that week to make room for Bloomington South, and it would be more advantageous for New Albany to remove Brownstown Central from that week and play Silver Creek instead. Doing so would mean New Albany would go from a five home and four away game split to a four home and five away game split. Silver Creek would then need to find a week 6 replacement and would have two HHC options if BNL would be willing to drop Jennings County or if Jeffersonville would be willing to drop Connersville. Given the distance between Jeff and Connersville, as well as the regional rivalry (per se) of Jeff and Silver Creek, I think the latter of the two options makes the most sense. The only hang up would be that the series was played from 2021 through 2024 before being dropped. It seemed to be a decent series as the first three games were decided by 14 points or less before Jeff crushed them in 2024. Jeff won 3 of the 4 games so I don’t if this led to the series ending.
