  1. I picked them too!!! Lol Jeffersonville ties it up with a touchdown. 13-13 with 2:02 left in the game. Floyd Central could be going to overtime for a second straight week.
  2. Jennings County 10 Madison 6 Final BNL 35 Seymour 29 Final
  3. Week 5 Predictions BNL (1-3, 1-1) at Seymour (1-2, 1-1): The Owls made history two weeks ago by snapping East’s 96 game HHC winning streak. However, COVID got in the way and caused them to take a week off. Has their momentum been ruined or can they build on the big win? The transitive property of inequality says if BNL is better than Jeffersonville and Jeffersonville is better than Seymour then BNL is better than Seymour. Seymour has a new QB, though, so that throws a wrench in things. Nevertheless, I’m taking BNL. I still remember how awful Seymour was the first two weeks of the season and I need to see more from them to be a believer. Floyd Central (0-4, 0-0) at Jeffersonville (1-2, 1-1): The Highlanders are FINALLY playing a conference game. They’re going to be looking to avenge last year’s upset loss to the Red Devils in sectionals. I have to think Floyd Central is more than prepared for the HHC after playing four really tough non-conference games. Floyd Central is my pick. Madison (2-2) at Jennings County (0-4): The Panthers are the first of three conference teams that get to face a Madison team no longer in the HHC. Say what you want about these two but the Railroad Rivalry is the second-closest rivalry (outside of Columbus East and Columbus North) involving an HHC team. Jennings County leads the overall series 30-27 and has won seven out of the last 11 games after things were tied up 23-23 in 2010. However, the Cubs can put up points and win games which is something Jennings County hasn’t shown they’re capable of. I have Madison winning by a lot. New Albany (2-2, 2-0) at Columbus East (1-3, 1-1): If the Olympians want to extend their record of 17 straight HHC championships, they’re going to have to win out the rest of their conference games. A second loss would pretty much end the streak unless a miracle of Biblical proportions occurred. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs look like the best team in the conference. Unless the Seymour loss somehow rejuvenated East, I don’t see anyone competing with New Albany outside of maybe Floyd Central. New Albany gets the W.
  4. Pick ‘Em Standings (after week 4): @Olympian06 17/20 @Frozen Tundra 16/20 @boilerfan87 14/20 @mamasa 14/20 @LC_Bears_04 13/20 @Fkfootball 9/16
  5. Yes but who are we to tell them what’s best for them? That’s not our job to decide that. They left after the 2020-2021 academic year because that was the right time for them.
  6. The last time they beat Center Grove was the last time they won a sectional, 2007. It’s been eight straight losses to Center Grove since that time and only one of those games was close. The average margin of defeat has been 29 points.
  7. First of all, there are more sports than just football. Secondly, it doesn’t really matter. The HHC won’t magically get better at football just because Madison is gone. Having that extra opening to schedule a third non-conference opponent isn’t going to change things.
  8. To be fair, nobody knew East was going to win 17 straight conference titles. Heck, even those of us that went to East didn’t foresee us winning three straight. We thought we’d drop off after Stevie Brown graduated. Then we thought we’d drop off after Drew Kiel graduated. Then we thought we’d drop off after the last Kiel (Gunner) graduated.
  9. Wasn’t meant as a knock. Just thought it should be pointed out 6A size in Kentucky isn’t the same as in Indiana.
  10. Mount Vernon (Posey) 35 Jeffersonville 13 Final
  11. They’re a 6A sized school in Kentucky but they’d be 5A in Indiana. Their enrollment numbers are just shy of Floyd Central’s.
  12. Columbus East 42 Jennings County 6 Final
  13. I’m trying to figure out why you threw 2013 out there. All I’m saying is that their last good year was 2014 and they knew it would be a good year based on everyone they brought back. So if they knew 2014 would be a good year then it would make more sense to leave after 2014 rather than 2013.
  14. Still need week 4 picks from @Fkfootball and @mamasa
  15. Nah. They tied for third in 2014. After that, they consistently bottomed out.
  16. Week 4 Predictions Columbus East (0-3) at Jennings County (0-3): As bad as East has been, the Panthers are just on another level of bad right now. Can the Olympians build off a win tonight? It’s possible but I’m not sure it’s probable. East with the W. Daviess County (KY) (2-1) at Floyd Central (0-3): The Panthers are the first team just outside of the Kentucky 6A top 10 AP poll. The one hour and 45 minute trip northeast to Floyds Knobs should be kind to them as the Highlanders continue to struggle finding the endzone this year. While their homecoming is looking like it’ll be spoiled, you have to think the four weeks of stout competition will make HHC-play easy for Floyd Central. However, it doesn’t look good tonight. Daviess County by a lot. Jeffersonville (1-1) at #7/#8 Mount Vernon (Posey) (3-0): The Red Devils make the 2+ hour drive to the southwest corner of the state to play one of the top teams in 3A. Based on last week’s showing at BNL, I’m not confident they’ll be able to get the job done. Even with having more than three times the student population, Jeff is still Jeff. Maybe they can make it close but I’m still taking the Wildcats. New Albany (1-2) at BNL (1-2): Could this actually be the game that decides the conference championship? Based on the transitive property of inequality, BNL is better than Jeffersonville who is better than Seymour who is better than Columbus East. New Albany has a separate data set, though, because we know they’re better than Jennings County but neither team has played anybody else within the conference. We still don’t know where Floyd Central fits into this and we technically don’t know where exactly New Albany fits. Nevertheless, on paper, this looks to be a key matchup in determining the HHC championship. Before this week, the Bulldogs would’ve been my pick here. However, the Stars showed tremendous growth last week as they familiarize themselves to a new coach and system. I’m breaking away from the consensus here because I’m not sure I trust the New Albany defense to make enough key stops. BNL is my pick.
  17. I saw this and had a good laugh because you know it happens on this site
  18. Again, they weren’t playing HHC teams. Things will only go up from there.
  19. You guys haven’t even played a conference game yet so you don’t even know where you stand within the HHC. Patience, young grasshopper.
  20. Yeah aside from this site, I saw a tweet by Floyd Central’s AD saying the team was looking for a replacement opponent. That’s it though. Seymour’s beat writer out of the Tribune hasn’t tweeted anything about it.
  21. If Seymour wasn’t afraid of playing East, I’m sure they’re not afraid of playing Floyd Central. If anything, they’d want to play them to try and keep the momentum going. There’s not a conspiracy here.
  22. Based on what I can tell, the only other Indiana teams available are 5A #8/#9 Fort Wayne Snider, 4A Northview, 2A Wheeler, and 1A #5 Winamac. Snider was supposed to play Fort Wayne South Side at home. Northview was supposed to play West Vigo at home. Wheeler was supposed to play at South Central (Union Mills). And Winamac was supposed to play at LaVille. Floyd Central is kind of backed into a corner being on the Ohio River and wanting to play a home game since this is their homecoming week. I highly doubt Winamac or Wheeler are going to want to make the LONG drive down from northwest Indiana. Snider would probably prefer to play at home but I doubt they’d want to make the LONG drive down from northeast Indiana. That just leaves Northview. Would they be ok giving up a home game? If so, would they be ok making the 2 hour and 45 minute drive southeast. I doubt it. Unless some school in southwest Ohio is fine making the 2+ hour drive, I’d say a Kentucky school is Floyd Central’s best bet for a game this week. Hopefully it works out.
  23. The season will be half over by the time you guys finally play a conference game 😂
  24. Dang it. All eight teams made it through unscathed last year. What a bummer.
  25. Pick ‘Em Standings (after week 3): @Frozen Tundra 13/16 @Olympian06 13/16 @boilerfan87 10/16 @mamasa 10/16 @Fkfootball 9/16 @LC_Bears_04 9/16
