We are on the doorstep of February and not many of these vacancies have been filled yet???

Wonder when vacancies will be filled??  Going to be tuff as days go by and no coaches.....  I'm sure other teams are going strong with players off season work!!

Saw this coming!  Wonder if he is seeking an opening or just going  stay off the sidelines for a bit??

Only 14 coaching positions have opened up in the entire state, with 2 already being public as far as being filled.  THATS IMPRESSIVE!!

I'm sure more have been filled in closed doors just havent been public....  THOUGHTS??

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND SOON SOME TEAMS WILL HAVE NEW BEGINNINGS!!!

I would think a decision should be made soon since this was an early opening that's been open for awhile and I'm sure the boys are ready to get going!!

Sounds like a bunch of excuses from the Rockies....saying goes "excuses start at the top"

Looks like Plymouth Basketball is struggling as well.  What has happened to the athletic culture of that school?  In all but the most recent New Prairie's playoff meetings with them, they have represented themselves well.  

I understand that communities and cultures change, but this seems to have happened VERY rapidly.

Plymnouth had less than 60 kids 9-12 in the program heading into the 2021 season.  They cancelled their freshman season for the 2nd year in a row, which has never happened previously.  The school has a very serious numbers problem, as do others in the NLC.  Plymouth, relative to normal seasons in the past , appears to be in the worst shape.

January could be an interesting month for 3 programs.

That was just what i have been thinking.... wonder if any more will come out they are leaving as well.... NIC will have a little bit of new look potentially if programs hire outside their current staff.

SCF placements: Cathedral 6A, FW Dwenger, Columbus East & New Pal 5A, Chatard & Ev Memorial 4A, Western Boone 3A. Southridge 2A (assuming enrollment places them there.)

Agreed!  They shouldnt just leave it as is.. clean slate it and align for the next 2 years!!   When will we know the new alignment if there are  changes??

Hopefully they continue this trend over time and look into some guys up north!!  HINT HINT!!

I was hired at NK Mid April.  I felt like I was way behind from a football standpoint.  The difference with my situation would be I was already a teacher in the building and had been a defensive coordinator on the team so i had already had an opportunity to work with our kids.  Also factored in would be i took over for a coach that was retiring rather than one that had been fired.  

 

Some programs that hire a new coach out of system will probably revamp the staff and as the clock ticks to getting closer to season (I Know its only mid december LOL) im sure they want positions filled asap!  Thats why some of these openings that are current and have closing dates extended into January  and February will have to be in fast forward mode.

Moser is a good back for Bremen. Reece Greene should step in at QB. The Graverson kid showed promise at WR.  Bremen however loses almost the entire o-line, look for Bremen to take a step back and finish in the bottom half of the division. I am guess 3 or 4 wins max.

Just a general couple questions...

When is it to late for coaches to move on from current programs?  When do schools like to have positions filled for the upcoming season?

Reason I ask is there isn't  much moving around in the coaching scene so far this off season....especially in the Northern parts of the state

I do agree with an earlier post about the path through the tourney for John Glenn being brutal.  That 3A sectional is always going to be a tough out with Marian and Jimtown.

Very true... wonder if they still associate with JG and new administration (3-4 years)  to make this a realistic possibility
