Think they could. Wouldn’t be favored. No issues with an undefeated Penn St team being ranked ahead of a 1 loss Georgia team.

Strength of schedule has to come into play. Certainly you wouldn't have them as the four seed if the playoffs were decided right now. I mean damn, IU's undefeated too, but they're not even ranked ahead of LSU.

They'll only be a top 4 seed if they win the B10, likewise with Georgia and the SEC. Top 4 seeds are the highest 4 ranked conference champions. As it stands now it would be:

#1 Texas

#2 Ohio State

#3 Miami

#4 Iowa State
