Some are good , some not so good.  Enjoy the ride!

1. Best Conference of 2019 - The Mid State

Great race all the way down to the wire, as DC beats resurgent Franklin for the league title.  Conference across the board looks to be very competitive and on the upswing.  Great schools.  Excellent staffs.  Who wouldn't want to be in The Mid State?

2. Coach of the Year - Chris Coll  Franklin

Coll takes Franklin from 5-35 over past 4 years to 7-2 and a shot at the league title.  The state champ coach from Tri West now working his magic on the Grizzly Cubs.

3. Worst Performance of the Year - Munster  (First runnerup / Shelbyville)

Munster goes 0-9 with a 36-396 point differential.  When did football at Munster High School become completely and totally irrelvent.  Im not sure they want it anymore.  Not sure it can be turned around.

4. Player of the Year - Charlie Spegal

Of course, its Charlie.  lets hope he some better competition in the tournament.

5. Biggest Disappointment of the Year - Noblesville

The 1-8 Millers were everyone's supposed surprise team of the year.  Big step back this season after 2018 progress.  Justin Roden is now 5-14 at Noblesville after winning a state title at East Central.  Things a little tougher on the big stage JR?6

6. Did He Really Say That Award Goes to

Lawrence Central Coach John Rodenberg, who said the LC program was in much worse shape than when he was led to believe when he took the job.  Really?  Does the term "Due Diligence: ring a bell Coach R?  The big Ohio resume brings with it sky high expectations.

7. Worst Conference of the Year - The MIC

Hows does an 8 team conference have 4 co champions?  Shouldn't there be some type of tie breaker?  Who gets the contract for "Conference Champs" labels and trophys?  That's a big one this year with a 4 way tie.  Does it spell parity, or mediocrity for the Mighty MIC?

8. Comeback Team of the Year -

Once again , its the Franklin Grizzly Cubs.  Enjoy it now Cubbies, New Pal is lurking in your sectional.

9. Best Former Indiana High School Football Coach Performance of the Year

Tom Allen - Indiana Hoosiers - That a boy Tom.  Keep those Hoosiers climbing.  DT is on board.

10. Best Unis of the 2019 Season -

Valparaiso Vikings - The Vikes make Green look Great.  Now Valpo looks to break out of the Region to show off their duds to the rest of the state in the 5A tournament.

11. Best Marketing Idea of the Season - Michigan City

The Wolves offered up their beautiful home Ames Field for an Ohio-Illinois matchup between Cleveland St Iggy and Chicago Mt Carmel in August.  What a great idea.  Would like to see some more creative use of our great Indiana facilities.

12. Craziest Game of the Year - Jeff 74- West Laf 66

Really?  Is this what our game is coming to?  Didn't WL have all their top kids on D last year?  I hope this is a 14-10 game between these two next year.  Maybe they are watching too much Purdue football on Saturdays after practice.

West Lafayette lost GK3 though. The man is currently playing at a level for Purdue that is worthy of playing in the NFL

yeah they kept a lot of good kids for this year but man. GK3 is a whole defense by himself.  Brohm said earlier this year that (paraphrasing) “if we had 11 George’s, this team would be sitting pretty good”

WL also lost D1 DE to Ball St as well and a very good LB core and a couple of DB kids.

The pace of week 1 vs those 2 was unbelievable.   If they played this week, I doubt it would be that big of shootout.  I'd say in the 40s or so but not like that.

WL still has very high major JR Karlaftis who has just about every offer imaginable.  I really like their SOPH DE/LG, Omi ,  if he was a tad taller you would see major offers for him as well imo.   Of course QB going to James Madison and WR going to Miami OH who is 6'5.

With all that, they still may not get out of sectionals with Chatard looming
