Mod22
Thoughts and prayers are with the Spartan community as well as the family and friends of Superintendent Destin Haas as they deal with his unexpected passing today. Godspeed to everyone that knew him.
Coach Nowlin
Mr. Haas was my Student teacher my JR year at Rensselaer, believe he played football at SJC, then was football coach at Benton Central before moving up the ranks into Superintendent roles at both Benton Central and North Newton. 🙏

delwingt
He was top of the line. I always enjoyed talking to him at the Region 4 meetings. Sad deal. Both communities will deeply miss him.

CoachSnyder
Destin was one of the great guys on Dave Blacks football staff at BC that was always a gentlemen to opposing coaches and during games. I spent a lot of time talking with Destin about coaching, teaching, education, etc over the years. Destin was one of my favorite people to visit with before and after games. We spent time trading film and talking. He was a tireless worker and from what I saw students loved him. BC has not been the same since he left football or the school corporation. To North Newton staff, community, and students our prayers are with you. God Bless!!!!!!
