from_the_sidelines007
I figured we get the conversation started here at HNAC Central . . . The 2021 Hoosier North Athletic Conference season will be upon us before we know it. Who ya'll got in scrimmage? Then Week #1 features two games as HNAC openers - NJSP at Culver Community and Winamac at Knox. All the remaining HNAC teams face non-conference foes to start the season. Friday, Aug. 20 LaVille at Bremen, 7 pm Cass at Pioneer, 7 pm North Judson at Culver ©, 7 pm South Central at Triton, 7:30 pm West Central at Caston, 7 pm Winamac at Knox ©, 7:30 pm There will be no new faces in charge of the eight HNAC football programs to start 2021. Will Porter returns for his second season at Caston after the Comets finished 3-8 overall and won its first round sectional game for the first time since 2014. Mike Zehner is back for his sixth season at Culver after the Cavaliers finished 3-8 overall. Russ Radtke is ready for his second season on the sidelines at Knox after a 6-5 mark a year ago. It is the fifth straight winning season for Redskin Football. Will Hostrawser is the HNAC veteran, returning for his ninth season in Lakeville following a 6-2 record. It is the seventh straight winning season for Lancer Football since Hostrawser took over the reins to start the 2013 season. Brett Lambert comes back for his third season as the boss at North Judson-San Pierre. Lambert guided the BlueJays to six of seven victories before a narrow second round loss to Winamac in the sectional. Adam Berry continues in his sixth season at Pioneer. The Panthers closed the 2021 season at 12-2 overall and have 25 consecutive winning seasons dating back to 1995. Pioneer made quite the schedule adjustment last year due to COVID, getting the better part of Chesterton and New Haven in Week 2 and Week 3, respectively, en route to a run to the semi-state round before dropping a 42-34 decision at Fort Wayne Luers. Though Randy Younis is in his 14th season at Triton, Younis is in his second go-round following a six-year break from 2013-2018. Younis is currently in his third year upon his second run pacing the sidelines of Trojan Football. John Hendryx is back for his second year at Winamac. Hendryx took the Warriors to the 2021 sectional title before a 37-32 loss to Lafayette Central Catholic in the regional round. It was the first sectional trophy for Winamac since 2016. As the July workouts begin in full force, any newcomers inside the locker room? Any preseason conference predictions? Who has the best defense in the HNAC coming back? Where will the HNAC offense stand? Looking forward to a more normal season ahead in 2021! as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007

Did Pioneer defeat both Chesterton and New Haven? Great conference. Best wishes all.

Pioneer defeated Chesterton 20-16 in Week #2 and lost to New Haven 32-28 in Week #3. Both games played at Pioneer . . . So For Coach Younis, he was the Triton Head Football Coach from 2001 to 2012. The Trojans went 42 - 90 during that span. THS won sectional titles in 2007 and 2008. Coach returned in 2019 when Ron Brown left after three seasons. So in answer to your two questions: To my knowledge, this is his second stint at Triton. Yes, he was the Triton Head Coach in 2007. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
