  1. Have not been on the NLC side of the GID hardly at all this season, but had to come on and give a tip of the SF fin to the Panthers of Northwood. What a season for the boys of Nappanee and what a game on Friday. Watched the game on 46 GOTW and was stunned. WTG Panthers. Great season and great game.

  3. Please join SF in wishing Bill Beck the best of luck as he begins his new venture at the Elkhart Truth. According to a recent Facebook post from Bill, after 30 plus years on the sports pages of the Truth, Bill is moving up to his new position as the Managing Editor for the Truth. This NLC fan will miss seeing the Beckster in the sports section. Congratulations and best wishes sir!

  9. Atta Boy Jason Spriggs - from the NLC past. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-draft-scout/25374681/indiana-lt-jason-spriggs-quietly-stars-in-loss-to-michigan There were plenty of remarkable individual efforts in Michigan's double overtime 48-41 win Saturday over Indiana. The most prominent came on the victorious Wolverines' side with quarterback Jake Rudock and wideout Jehu Chesson hooking up on four touchdowns, including a five-yard score on the final play from scrimmage to send the game into overtime. A terrific performance in a losing cause came from Indiana running back Jordan Howard - who rushed for a career-high 238 yards and two scores. His production was all the most impressive given that Michigan entered the game ranked behind only Boston College and Alabama as the stoutest against the run in the country. One player who likely won't get much acknowledgement (but should) in this game was Indiana left tackle Jason Spriggs. His steady run blocking and pass protection nearly pushed the Hoosiers past Michigan on Saturday. Prior to today's game, Spriggs' talent has generated lots of buzz in the scouting community, earning him an early invitation to the Senior Bowl. At 6-foot-6, 305 pounds, Spriggs has the size and well-distributed musculature NFL scouts are looking for, as well as impressive initial quickness, lateral agility and balance. The length and athleticism combination makes Spriggs well-suited to pass protecting in Indiana's up-tempo spread offense and in run blocking at the second level. Rather than maul defenders at the point of attack, Spriggs relies on his quickness and agility. Watch how he releases off the line of scrimmage in the video below, for example. Spriggs comes off the ball like a tight end, initially running towards the middle of the field, before pivoting and beating Michigan linebacker Mike McCray (No. 9) - a junior nearly 60 pounds lighter than Indiana's tackle - to the edge. How key was the play of Spriggs and the rest of Indiana's offensive line? Throughout the final moments of regulation and the first two overtimes, Indiana ran the ball 18 consecutive times. The only exception was a failed 4th down pass at the goal-line that ended the game. Tackles from collegiate spread offenses have struggled acclimating to the physicality of the NFL and this remains a concern for Spriggs, who struggled, at times, to sustain blocks due to average upper body strength and pad level. That's one of the reasons why scouts are excited to see him be forced to acclimate to a more traditional pro-style attack at the Senior Bowl. Spriggs currently checks in as NFLDraftScout.com's No. 47 overall prospect and sixth-rated offensive tackle for the 2016 NFL Draft.
  10. NE had to bring someone experienced in handling properly inflated footballs........
  11. 9 - 7 Raiders. Congrats Northridge.......
  12. A very good friend of SF just today pointed out to SF the REAL reason for the Raider's recent success in the gridiron - Those new helmets and impressive uniforms......Wow......
  13. Now that's a statement!!!!
  14. Aww c'mon gm, don't get The Dude involved here.....He wouldn't like that......
  15. Just watched a little HS football........ SF is going way off his normally reserved and measured approach and will actually make a prediction.......at the risk of adding "locker room fodder" to the Lions from an apparently uneducated Raider follower. Leo WILL NOT have the "upset of the week" their fans are hoping for....... In fact, SF is saying that the Lions will be lucky to put points on the board against this Raider defense........ SF is predicting (for no other reason than it's fun to be able to do) an old-fashioned shellacking of the Leo Lions outside of Fort Wayne this Friday evening....... Don't ask for my normal data-driven message to accompany this bold prediction, just be prepared to acknowledge SF's unquestionable "how does that dude always know" status.......
