Could be wrong but Will (220 lb state champ) plays an outside linebacker position while Paul (hwt state champ) played the season on the offensive line but will play on the defensive line when needed. Again not 100% sure. Fun fact the Clark’s also have younger triplets who are freshman and the 2 boys are also football and wrestlers.

Paul was not a state champ , he placed 3rd last year . He should win it this school year though .

Penn's passing game will have to be on point, if Penn cannot move the ball via the run through the middle of the D...it might be more like 21-20 or 24-21.

Like stated earlier, the Clark brothers are studs. If Penn tries to pound between the tackles , it could be a long night. They need to mix in some misdirection and screen passes. Basically they need to keep the CP defense off balance. Get McCullough out on the perimeter for RPO’s

Snider 35 - Mishawaka 14 - BTF is way off base here. Mishawaka is a good team, they present some problems to the Panthers offensively. Defensively, they aren’t stopping Snider much, just like last year. It comes down to turnovers for Snider. If they hold onto the ball, they win fairly easily, but if they put the ball on the turf, all bets are off.

Nobody was saying Mishawaka was North Side. If memory serves me correctly, you said North Side was going to give Snider a game. Anyone being honest knew that wasn’t going to be the case. I know sandbagging is art form, but damn, be somewhat real about it

This is exactly the type of score I am expecting. If Snider can limit turnovers and penalties, they will pull away in the second half .

No, I did not watch the whole game. I did watch some of the 4th quarter when I saw it was close. Same question to you, do you actually watch every game? If not, since you want to bust my chops about it, why should you comment on things? I will 100% be honest, I spend my Friday nights hopping games for the close games and then also watching games of interest, like East Central, Penn, Center Grove, etc… I feel like I have a very good grasp of who is really good, and who is a paper tiger

Are you serious? No he doesn't watch any games . He probably never comes up from mommy's basement .

No vendetta, just can’t ignore collapses on the biggest stage.

Coaches still give the “coach speak” regularly but off the record most in central Indy don’t view Penn as a threat.  Sorry.

Who the F said they did ?? Just thought you needed to throw that in didn't you Temp . Your a real piece of work .

Surprised I haven't seen this topic yet. Should be another classic after last year's matchup. Was wondering if anyone from the Mishawaka area or conference could give the NEI guys some insight on this year's Cavemen team. Seems like they have more ability to throw the ball, although I know that is not what they want to do. How many returning starters from last year do the Cavemen have?

    My prediction: Panthers by 3

Mishawaka hangs around early , but Snider can score in bunches. Think Snider pulls away in the second half and wins by 21-28.

I’d settle for being competitive against a school within 25 miles of monument circle…

Said the conversation might be worthy of beginning.

Since 2017 Cathedral’s been the only team Penn has played within 25 miles of monument circle. I guess beating the brakes off Carmel 34-7 in 17 wasn’t competitive??? Yes I know, we took a beating the following week. What about 2015 that wasn’t competitive? I believe it was 21-16 well into the 4 th quarter when CG tacked on a score. You don’t seem to understand, when Penn plays an Indy area team, it’s either a top 5 team or the best team in Indy. So quit referring to Indy as a whole. You don’t think Penn would be competitive with North Central, Perry Meridian, etc?

Penn winning three of the next five 6A state titles.

Very doubtful , but saying a team is the future that only has won a Sectional is putting the cart before the horse. CP is a much improved program . They have some absolute Senior studs ,lets see how they rebuild next year and the following year before calling them the future .

The DAC is weaker than Normal? Crown Point is way up. Merrillville is their normal self, which is overall Top 25, and Valpo is right up there with all time Valpo greats of the past. Is the rest of the conference way down?

Don't let one game skew your opinion of Carroll. They fell asleep against Warsaw this year, maybe since last years game was a yawner, who knows. The Chargers looked pretty solid against Hamilton Southeastern, Warren Central, and Snider. And if you believe in "transitive property," then they are better than Fishers.

I agree with Temptation, Crown Point is on the upswing.............regardless if they win or lose on Friday.

Temp was saying Penn was the past and CP is the future . So if Penn wins Friday , wouldn't they be the future?

It is definitely premature but they were an afterthought before the current coaching staff.  Affluent, growing community...checks all of the boxes.

IF they beat Penn we can START having the conversation...

Not even then. If they win the Regional this year and next year , then we can start . Again lets look at Carroll  everyone (even myself) was saying  they may be the 6A north team of the future . They went from state runnerup to out in the first round of the playoffs .

Craig Buzea will be looking to get a monkey off his back as he is 0-4 against Penn in Regionals between '95 and '03 when he was the Portage HC. His lone win against Penn was with his 2019 Homewood-Flossmoor team that beat Penn by 28. Considering Crown Point's OOC schedule was fairly weak and the Duneland is basically a 5A Conference with Portage and Lake Central not competiive at all at the 6A level, this feels like Week 1 for Crown Point at the 6A Level. They have some athletes at RB and WR who are pretty good. Lines are very big as well on both sides of the ball. They'll put 4 D1 recruits on the field

    • 6'3 S Landon Delich (Toledo)
    • 6'3 DL Paul Clark (Buffalo)
    • 6'4 LB Will Clark (Buffalo)
    • 6'1 JR QB Noah Ehrlich has a couple of MAC Offers

Crown Point has taken care of business this year as expected based on their schedule, but they've often never looked dominate doing it. Not really sure how they match up with Penn. Buzea is a skilled and veteran offensive play caller with over 30 years on his resume. He'll find ways to get Crown Point in the endzone. It looked like Penn was running RPO against Valpo in week 1. I haven't watched the Kingsmen since. I remember them having some speed at QB and RB that really hurt Valpo on the outside. Crown Point can be beaten the same way. Their strength on D is the inside run game.

I've been saying it all year, but I feel like Crown Point is a complete unknown at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if they beat Penn by double digits or lost a close one. Because of that I would probably give the edge to Penn by about 3-6.

The Clark brothers are Studs , they will both win state titles in Wrestling this year .

    Past vs the Future?

This game will tell us a lot in my opinion.

I guess your considering CP the future ? Please explain why you feel this way . They are undefeated in a weaker than normal DAC . Even if they beat Penn , I wouldn't consider them the future . Everyone was saying that about Carroll last year and then this year they get taken behind the woodshed by a mediocre Warsaw team . I think teams need to string a couple Sectional, Regional, Semistate titles together before being labeled the future .
