Yes the source is very reliable if you are thinking it’s just rumors still. -
Hoosier Hills Conference

I’m being told they (Bloomington South) got added or at least have the AD votes to be once the official vote occurs soon. So as mentioned earlier anyone want to give a shot at breaking down where they will fall at several of the sports. -

Has anyone done a deep dive speculation on approximately where Bloomington South would currently fall in most of the sports? I’m guessing bug part of the decisions making will come down to their projected spot in football and basketball totum pole, but what about several of the other sports. If casting a wide net it’s safe to say top 1/2 to top 1/3 in almost all sports, but anyone want to give it a go at bring more accurate per sport? Also, is Bloomington South the only school with even the potential of adding. Or with a little coaxing could there be another one out there worth trying. I guessing a big part of the considerstion comes down to getting back to 8 teams. But in some ADs minds is the conference really at 8 teams is Jennings Co is mostly MIA in football with the possibility of entertaining a conference offer if an opportunity were there in a year or two. To me securing a stable future of the HHC is importer to most schools. Taking on Bloomington South may stabilize it for now. Are they even a long time fix or could we see them leave as the conference landscape changes again in next 5 years? Is there another long term option to help shore up the HHC out there that may just need a little sweet talking? -

It’s mid-April any fire to go with the Bloomington South to HHC smoke that’s was noticeable last month? Or is HHC acting content with where they are with 7 teams, give or take Jennings Co. football? -

Going off on a ramble, but not sure Jennings Co. would see much benefit into adding Bloomington South to the HHC. Just one more school ahead of them in post sports. If HHC addd BSouth could that tip the scale to JC being serious about leaving. I could see them asking that the conference try and also look for a school that they would be more competitive with in several sports. But, I’m not sure there are too many schools looking to make that jump when they currently are likely competitive in their smaller school conference. Silver Creek and Charlestown seems very comfortable sitting on top of the MSC. I’m not sure they leave to deal with the large HHC schools. Maybe the ty could be enticed to join a new conference with 4A schools and some smaller less successful 5A schools. Could be Jennings only play in the future if South gets in and the smaller schools are against JC getting into the already crowded MId-South. -

I don’t necessarily mind BSouth joining, but they will quickly rise to near the top in several sports. It would be nice to have BNorth too since they would be more mid-range in several sports, but they went elsewhere. -

Thanks. And I agree based on what I heard on the prospective coach they were looking at. Not a lot of job openings currently expected at SHS as several coaches who resigned this year or last, along with an expect resignation or two have stayed on as teaching staff. Will be interesting to see how they are able to fill in the support staff job wise and who may stay on from the prior coaching group. -

I’ve heard Seymour is close to narrowing down a coach for next season. Any insiders know if things have/will progress to make the February Board Meeting? -

I read about 4 high profile girls basketball players (2 bring sisters) that have already left their teams mid-season this year. No specific word as of why, but if their teams aren’t producing it wouldn’t be a bad guess to say they are leaving to try to gain eligibility by next season. This is just getting crazy. -

Sadly so does much of the conference. -
Been saying for years that the tennis team needs to step up their pre-game intimidation factor.

And the student growth has mostly changed to stabilization at this point. With a good chunk of that previous student move-in population not being interested in being part of the football program. So school numbers shifted, but interest level hasn’t went up. But that seems to be an issue with many Seymour sports over the last decade or so. I’d love to say there are potential athletes roaming the hallway not playing, but the coaches don’t seem to be finding many of them or at least convincing them to come out. -

From what I heard decent number of upperclassman decided not to return. So Seymour is playing has moved up some sophomores that in a typical year would be JV and trying to adjust a good amount of others to positions they didn’t play last season. With that you can’t cover some spots and the upperclassman groups is mostly undersized in comparison to others which just compounds the problem. Rough year for the Owls so maybe conserving some future talent by playing with less. Some kids just aren’t going to be ready for a varsity level games so just guessing but the staff maybe avoiding putting inexperienced kid in who may get him/someone hurt or end up quit now fr ohm the bad experience when you could build them up instead to be a varsity contributor in a year or two. A growing season for sure. Word is the Freshman group is solid so there is some potential to build off going forward. -

Good to hear when these young men step up in all aspects of school/life. He also wrestled for the Panthers. -
Transfers Happening?
TheMadness1 replied to Football Guru 25's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
That’s basically been the traditional route of transfers for years now. I think the IHSAA just got sick of trying to prosecute all that grey area, so hopes the new rule save them the trouble. -

Just happened to speak with a couple JC families over the weekend. Their logic in the planned schedule changes move what that this was temporary. The goal was to help boost JC players confidence and their overall numbers with a more competitive schedule. Then rejoining the full HHC schedule in a few more years. There was no indication of a plan to look to leave the HHC since they feel competitive in several other sports. But, I guess we will see what a few years of this schedule bring and if yet changes the schools mind about a full schedule again down the road. -

Gee a guy posts one image of a baseball player on a football page and don’t check it for a day. Come back and see that chaos has ensued. I guess it’s a good think I didn’t post a soccer player of this whole board may have fallen. -

Highlanders vs Owls is likely the batrle to win the HHC. Floyd sounds like they want to make the Owls defense to prove themselves i’d they want to win this one. If Floyd sticking with a hard nose RB ground attack or are they working the Owls defense in the air as well? Something has seemed a little off with Seymour defensive approach since Greenwood and it may likely cost them the Conference title. -

Owls defense has to find some type of stamina and grit in the second half. They let Greenwood offense just move down the field with ease when the game was in hand. They could be the team to beat in the HHC but the rest of the Conference now know, after film work, how to keep the game within reach. . -

With the HHC done for this football season, does anyone have any early predictions of what to expect from next years teams?
