The abortion issue is kind of a quagmire for Christian conservatives. On one hand, if you believe abortion is murder, then you would be inclined to support a law such as the latest Texas legislation. BUT - a true conservative wouldn't want the government involved in his/her (a true conservative also believes there are only 2 genders) life any more than necessary either. Abortion is legal in the US as well as many other places in the world, so as a fundamental conservative I choose to let the abortion issue lie as per the Federal legislature/courts guidance whether I like it or not.
