I don’t think EC could stop Center Grove or BD or CP passing game! Unless they have a d1 secondary! They have the best defense in 4A ( no doubt)!

Cp was listed one time as pretenders? proved a lot of people wrong! Just so happy a team from the 219 made it to the finals! sorry to say I believe BD is more talented and speed that will be to much! But the experience for every little bulldog in the stands will build dreams of playing for a state title ! Can’t wait to see what comes in the future for this 219 school. Love the region!

Let’s remember something. Cp was not in a good place before buzz got there usually teams go out to find other competition when they know their team can compete for 3 or 4 years! The ville did that with Warren central ! Cp is just getting on their feet with more athletes and great coaching staff! I am sure buzz knows he has to seek better talent in the future! How bout we let the process run its course! Usually the success of a program in public schools outside of indy does not show itself until a staff has been there for 4 years! I believe they are headed in the right direction! ITS A SHAME IN THIS DAY AND AGE EVERYONE WANTS INSTANT SUCCESS! THEN CRITICIZE WHEN THEY THINK THEIR OPINION MATTERS! Good luck to both teams! Valpo defense has gotten extremely better since the beginning of the year!! I hope they can do what they did last year without their running back! But let’s not forget this is about two different teams Cp and Penn!

A lot of hate for the region ! This guy! Instead of tearing them down maybe support them a little !

If no: 5 for Carroll is not on the field for every snap and running the football! Won’t make it ! He is such an extraordinary player! Wish my alma mater would grab him ! Go blue

Cp. Has a qb they have a running back ,a receiver who is going to Toledo. Online is not great . Defense is nothing like last year way better! Senior strong! It to mention Jeff game was not a push over! Carrol is not what they were last year! Going to be interesting in the north! Snider is athletically better than any one in 5a

Cp is not overrated! They are 10-0 ! Just because everyone goes by rankings , does that mean they don’t deserve the high praise by coaches and media around the state are giving them! The players and the coaches are undefeated for a reason! May not be to your liking but they have not lost this year. For Cp to advance in this weeks game and later games they must run the ball and eat as much clock as they can and play field position against every team ahead of them. Make teams have long drives to score and keep the clock in their favor! Carroll, HSE,Westfield have better athletes than CP . In my opinion I don’t think CP defense can stop Carroll’s passing game . They sure can’t stop HSE passing game! From what I have seen they have the best Receivers in the State! CP is on their way to be a contender in the North, just not yet. So let’s not pop-poo their achievements! U have to start somewhere!

No one in the North can compete with South period! Carrol might be able to cover receivers but their D- line is small and when a big line dominates them cause size does matter they won’t be able to rush or stop the run! Penn is improving but not near the talent of what it takes to compete with Indy schools . Will it come back ? Doubt it! Penn still living in the past ! Crown point line is big and good! Great running game! Great coaches! DEFENSE IS average. Who ever The Royals play for semi-state it will be a 14+ win. Still rooting for Carrol , Penn , or Cp to make it to Indy! Just my thoughts!

I have been watching HSFootball for over 40 years! I followed Hobart football through the late 70’s to the late 80’s. In my time I have watched Rod Woodson, Vaughn Dunbar , Tank Adams , Martell France to name a few. After Don Howell left I started going to games that were highlighted as the big games north of Indianapolis. The kid from Merrillville has the quickest 3 step start that I have seen in a long time. Granted I am old , but he is right there with his explosiveness.

Don’t know if anyone in the the state can cover # 23 from Merrillville. Fastest High school player I have witnessed with running back power and moves.

Hope he brings Zac wells with him as Defensive Coordinator. Way to go Dogs!
