  1. Warsaw is EST. the dividing line is St. Joe county and LaPorte county at the top of the state....as you go south, I assume if 31 goes through your county it is EST.
  2. Do you think they have a chance at Semi-State in the south? I haven't looked to see who is in their sectional.
  3. It will be interesting to see how East Central does this year. I have heard some things from some Penn players that the new coaching staff is 100% committed to changing the culture at the school. Get back to the that winning mentality, blue collar hard work kinda stuff you like to hear. I am more optimistic for the future of the program. Which is good news.
  4. Most preseason polls should just not happen. In college football or High school. It over hypes teams that would never be considered for the top 10 from the start. In high school it doesn't matter as much, because everyone makes the playoffs. Where in college, the New Years Six spots were getting filled by teams that without their preseason rankings likely would have been on the outside looking in most years. You can't get beat by every ranked team you played by 10+ points and then get credit for beating an over ranked Mid SEC/BIG10 team. But, alas that is the world in which we live.
  5. If it is just the region what is your top 10?
  6. I felt weird adding them in this group, since Penn is almost dead center in the state. If they were in the DAC, I would have thrown them in at 2. That game was wild, and Penn coughed it away multiple times. CP got the job done, but Penn did a Tanya Harding job on themselves. I took it as the region.
  7. My confidence level is very low for many North 6A teams winning state.
  8. I think that it may fall something like this: 1- CP 2- Merrillville 3- Valpo 4- New Prairie 5- Hanover Central 6- Hobart 7- Michigan City 8- Andrean 9-Gary West 10- Boone Grove That actually gets tough once you get past the top 3 or 4.
  9. It is a shame that Warsaw went down to 5A, I think they have a strong chance in 5A north to make a lot of noise. But, I think that Warsaw is starting to look towards the future of the program, elevating to the next level. Even though they may not be in 6A when those games come around this will over prepare them for what they will see in the 5A tournament. Even if they get drubbed, this is going to benefit the young men.
  10. I think Warren, even though there were down last year, wins sectional 1 or 2 last year. I think the CP game would be super close, but I think they are a semi-state team in the North brackets.
  11. OMG....WTH! Bart isn't scared to test his squads.
  12. So, I heard some things that are making me feel better about the incoming regime. Was talking to a father and son who are incoming Freshmen this year at Penn. The coaching staff that has been at Penn since I was there last in 2007 has admitted to players and parents that the program got away from their winning mentality and began to coddle the players. Coaches have told parents they wont be directly communicating with the parents. all communication will be given to the player 48hrs in advance, and it is the players responsibility to make sure that information gets to the parents. Coaches told parents not to call or email them. Kids will play based on merit. I did hear they changed the endzones of the field and they now say Gold Rush in one and Wild Bunch in the other....Not a fan of that, but I am not paying for that.....at least I hope I am not....darn you taxes.
  13. Warren doesn't need to win big, they just need to win. With the game being at home. I think Warren wins the game 24-10 or 17-7.
  14. Freaking Warsaw got Warren on their schedule! WHAT THE HECK GUYS!
  15. They have a good chance of upsetting Penn this year. Game is at Mishawaka, and well they are always good.
  16. Well this tells you how strong Penn's schedule is this year....Penn Plays #24 game 1 and #23 in game 2....that is as good as it gets. YIKES
  17. Yeah fat fingered that one. I think the 02 Penn team would have made those state finals games more interesting, but those were the two best teams (Warren and BD) I had ever seen take a high school football field in Indiana. That isn't a dig at the Carmel team that smashed Penn in state either.
  18. On another note, did anyone notice the common theme in the second graph...A lot of those teams read Ben Davis, Warren or Carmel. Lol Sorry wrong thread.
  19. I am not saying they are in the top three or could compete with any of these three teams, because well we know what the 06 and 17 teams did to Penn. But, if it weren't for an egregious call in the regional game in 2002 the nationally ranked Penn team was the best Penn team I have ever seen take the field. Dominated BD in Indy and ravaged that Saginaw team that was also nationally ranked with Lamarr Woodley. Aug. 23 Valparaiso W 31 7 Aug. 30 at Ben Davis W 30 14 Sep. 6 at South Bend Washington W 69 0 Sep. 13 South Bend Riley W 61 12 Sep. 20 Saginaw (Mich.) W 49 7 Sep. 27 at South Bend Clay W 35 12 Oct. 4 at South Bend Adams W 65 0 Oct. 11 Mishawaka W 51 0 Oct. 18 at Elkhart Central W 63 13 Oct. 25 at Elkhart Memorial W 42 7 sect Nov. 1 Elkhart Central W 63 0 sect Nov. 8 at Goshen W 31 0 sect That is every game leading up to the regional game. I think that loss shook the state and BD goes on to an easy state title win. Shoulda woulda coulda. Damn shame that it ended in Valpo and not in Indy.
  20. A game from 20 years ago was probably more memorable than going to work on a mundane week day. lol
  21. The marketing department was giving him time to not screw this up. We wait with baited breath @temptation We did it! We made the top 50! YES! lol
  22. Maybe it is because old school fanatics who went to practices and kept close tabs on the players and coaches aren't on here anymore. People who have lives but follow the team cant get that information because we....well are busy living our daily lives. lol.
  23. In this scenario we benefit from having a smaller population about 6.8 million in 2022. Where California has a population of 39 million....(fun fact California's population is larger than the population of Canada.) But, still it is cool to see Hoosiers represent in the highest league.
  24. Penn, is like a black hole when it comes to information.
  25. Hard pass, I would accept Trent watching from the stands like Corey is this coming season.
