  1. 3A and 4A football in Indiana is the most entertaining....don't @ me.
  2. We too run our Friday night stuff at these events.....many teams do not.
  3. I hear that Brownsburg won the 7 on 7 event. Memorial lost in the first round of tournament play to Brebeuf.
  4. Here are some nice photos! https://www.colts.com/photos/11-on-tournament-2024#8a72abe5-8d4f-40cf-93c1-85b62e4bfb28
  5. Gibson Southern represented the PAC well this weekend at the annual Mooresville 7 on 7 shootout! The Titans won the Big School Championship defeating Franklin Central 22-21. The Titans JV lost a close one in the small school championship game to Triton 15-9.
  6. Bosse has to be super excited!
  7. These new turf fields for baseball and softball are all the rage. Being the "get off my lawn" guy that I am, I don't like it.
  8. 😂😂 I knew you read my posts!
  9. I remember sitting in that sweatbox in 1988....but I rushed for 130 yards! I kept running over this interior D lineman for them named Klem.....no wonder he moved to Fort Branch just a few short years later! LOL
  10. Agree...we don't necessarily get these games to win (although that is always the goal). The level of competition for players and coaches can be worth the Ls when they happen.
  11. For now, no changes have been announced for week 4.
  12. This will replace Mt. Carmel who no longer wants to play GS.
  13. I'm sure they did. It is now an easier-to-officiate and faster game. The game is more exciting when there is a chance for a comeback from a reasonable deficit with just a few minutes left to play in the game. This was a horrible move.
  14. Amen to that!
  15. I must admit....the one GO DEEP (game-winning play) and little sisters of the poor won them a semi-state. But they can make themselves even better....hope they don't listen to me lol. I hear the DeLong kid has decided to pass up multiple scholarship offers to follow his older brother into Mechanical Engineering locally. The guaranteed internship and industry connections were more valuable than the scholarship dollars in his view. It appears that football needs some kids more than they need it. I'll be in the corner sobbing if you need me. Don't ever marry a girl who is a math wiz.
  16. I think we did about the same time...no worries.
  17. See the third article.
  18. The PAC already has a school bigger in Boonville. I have a feeling you don't know the story. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/05/21/a-look-at-sw-indiana-athletics-five-years-after-conference-realignment/73726204007/ https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/06/22/how-southern-indiana-ads-made-decisions-joining-siac-pac/1531269001/ https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/06/06/boonville-high-school-ad-we-were-never-comfortable-joining-southern-indiana-athletic-conference/1366802001/
  19. How sexy would a GS Jasper game be....I remember Jack Jewell beating them in 83, 84 and 85.
  20. This is spot on....everyone having their non-conference games on different weeks made it tough. We would have what everyone wanted if Boonville had played along, including HH having the cake schedule they seem to enjoy having. Moch therapy session with HH AD: Now repeat after me....it's ok if we win state and are 14-1...it's ok if we win state and are 14-1. Now repeat after me....it's ok if our opponents average more than 7 points...it's ok if our opponents average more than 7 points.
  21. They are a top-notch 4A program.
  22. I think his point was referencing both what you and I posted. The regular season part (your post)...the not wanting post-season Memorial (my post).
  23. I'm not sure that is exactly what he said, "I'm probably going to catch some heat for this, but that's ok. It's my perspective as a 3A public school coach. I think changing the number of points to "stay up" a class from 2 points to 3 points was a mistake. I do not like that this rule was changed without any discussion among high school football coaches. Many of us were not aware that the change was made until several months after it was changed. An example from our region. Evansville Memorial won 3A State Championships in 2017 and 2018. They were moved up to 4A in 2019 due to the success factor. They won a State Championship in 2019 (in 4A), they won a Regional in 2021 (in 4A), they won the 4A sectional in 2022 and 2023. In summary, they were in 4A for 5 years. They won 4 sectionals, (including the last 3 Sectionals), a Regional and a State title......and all of that "success" was not "successful" enough to stay in 4A? I would like to see a 2X multiplier (on enrollment) for all private/parochial schools and reduce the number of success factor points to stay up a class from 3 to 2 again. I think these two changes would provide a more competitive balance." I think his statement is a sound logic-based position.
  24. SARMS are what is big right now with HS athletes. Like anything else, these kids are in real danger of getting counterfeit products online that could negatively impact their health.
