  1. But isn’t the arrogance warranted? I mean come on. Even you have to admit that the dominance of the area (regardless of the reasoning behind it) speaks for itself. I have spoken about the supposed enrollment advantage since the beginning of time…but CG sorta debunks that as the major contributing factor, no?
  2. You cited it as THE reason Valpo would lose to Snider, cited about four coaches who mentioned it in the past, and dug your heels in even after the data proved you wrong. In these two instances the burden of proof is on you, not me. If you claim something you better have the stats and data to back it up. What is so hard about that?
  3. I just think you took my advice of taking a well deserved victory lap and are attempting to turn it into two. Carroll’s win was great and monumental for the competitive balance of the sport but to come on here and pretend that the folks who claim Indy is where the best football is played need to consider the win/loss records of IPS schools before doing so is asinine. Are we also judging the strength of Fort Wayne area football on Northrop and South Side? C’mon man. Suggesting they are top three is not arrogant at all…you’ve seen my poll. Not disturbed at all.
  4. LOL. Yes. Just like “travel” being cited as a major reason for road teams losing big games, an “extra purpose” is WAY down the list when it comes to important factors once the game is kicked off. I’ve never seen Jesus wearing a head set or holding a clipboard and until I do, my “opinion” trumps yours. I believe college English professors refer to this as “supporting evidence” and a works cited page.
  5. I was being polite for a change…and it’s not an opinion. If you can point to concrete evidence of a team ever winning a game due to an extra “purpose” or “12th man”, I’d love to see it. (Don’t make me create another spreadsheet.)
  6. “ I just find it hilarious that you guys continue to point out that football is "better" in Indy. The Indy burbs has some of the best football (with obvious advantages) in the state. Indy proper has some of the worst. It's a wash.” Are you really using IPS schools now in your judgement of Indy football? I’ve been as critical/outspoken of the MIC 6 as anyone on here but don’t lump Tech, Shortridge and Tindley in with Warren, BD, LC, and LN. You look foolish. One damn win by Carroll and you are sweating some sort of arrogance mixed with fake disrespect. And I like you.
  7. Yes, completely. Also, it works both ways… https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/columnists/gregg-doyel/2022/08/18/ihsaa-football-center-grove-coach-eric-moore-battling-cancer-again-indiana-state-champions/65403999007/
  8. Does CG have a purpose? Taking nothing away from the story of the young man and not trying to sound insensitive but that sort of stuff is great for articles and stories leading up to the game but once the game kicks off becomes completely irrelevant.
  9. Hell, his opinion about his own school, 10 seconds from his house was blatantly wrong…for the third consecutive year.
  10. Flawed comparison and you know it. So you are basing your pick on focus and purpose huh? Bold.
  11. The gap between the haves and the have nots has grown at a fairly linear rate and Covid accelerated the gap.
  12. Are we really doing this again? This subject has been discussed on here ad nauseam.
  13. They beat Brebeuf in the title game, lol.
  14. The disappearance of @Piratefan101and @Andrean4life cannot simply be a coincidence at this point, lol.
  15. I have heard this insinuated by some in the past.
  16. The gift that keeps on giving. Scroll to page 14. https://www.ihsaa.org/sites/default/files/documents/110422_executive_committee_0.pdf
  17. Have you seen my rankings? Just stop with the hyperbole.
  18. Undoubtedly we can call them the best team in the state. Don’t twist it. Hell, Carroll’s sectional was tougher than Center Grove’s
  19. Its like the anti-MIC/HCC crowd that claims that teams like New Pal could waltz in and compete on a week in/week out basis based on how they played during 1-2 weeks of the season. Last Friday was the first time Carroll was a honest/decisive underdog on paper all season and I’m betting they had a chip on their shoulder…and they probably should have. Can you have a chip two weeks in a row? Sure. But Carroll having to play CG/Brownsburg’s schedule sure as hell is not undefeated. (Yeah, I said it.) Doesn’t mean they can’t beat them in a one game scenario though.
  20. All he is saying is that when those three teams are at their best, they are his top three teams. Obviously these are high school kids (hell NFL teams are inconsistent ) and no one plays at the top of their game every Friday night. Stop getting so offended and playing the disrespect card. Few, if anyone believes that Carroll has a shot this weekend if CG plays their “A game.” It’ll take Carroll’s A game and CG’s B/C game (which Carroll CAN contribute to) for the Chargers to win. (You’ve basically admitted this yourself in different terms.)
  21. Absolutely true and as impressive as Carroll's breakthrough win over HSE was, CG manhandling Cathedral was eye opening and twice as impressive. I've maintained since the summer months that I thought Cathedral was the most talented team in the state and I still believe that. They were dominated by Center Grove this season for 6+ quarters. That is saying something.
  22. I think they would need the Clemson scenario above PLUS an upset in the Big Ten title game just to be considered.
