I’m not sure this is an apples to apples comparison. He’s advocating for NC getting a couple of extra winnable games on the schedule by dropping CG/Carmel. Its hard to sell your parents, student athletes, administration, etc on progress when you face a murderer’s row annually. Hell, I put NC in my top 10 and fully expect them to be sub .500 this year. 4-5 would be one hell of an accomplishment for the Panthers. -

Outside of the box but what if they drop CG/Carmel and pick up Brebeuf and/or Chatard? Would they then start “winning” some of those recruiting battles if the scoreboard came out in their favor on Friday night? Guilty. Big fan of Gilbert and the momentum they have right now. JV was lights out last year. They may get the benefit of the Temp’s “coaching bump.” -

I’m giving O’Shea the benefit of the doubt for the time being. We will find out which was the anomaly soon enough: 2018 or 2021. They had a great chance to beat that 2018 undefeated Warren squad and gave them as good of a game as anyone else in the state in the regional. Warren ended their seasons in 2019 and 2020 by one possession. I have a hard time seeing them winning more than 3-4 regular season games with their brutal schedule but even then, that would be tremendous progress as they weren’t event competitive last season. -

I am not predicting Zionsville’s demise like a couple of others I saw but they will have an uphill climb replacing significant talent in their first year in 6A. Fishers has 1500 more students than Zionsville thus I think they have less growing pains/a less steep climb into the top ten. I see no one past 7 in my list as a significant state title contender however. -

Too well coached to stay down and it’s a make it break year for O’Shea. They’ve got a few dudes… Typed my response before reading yours, lol. -

Eh, need to see how LN fares losing their playmaker at WR. Think LC will be much improved but not ready to rank them top ten yet. I think Mallory is among the most overlooked coaches in Indiana and loved Patterson’s answers to the Facebook group. -

Agreed. For fun, the Temp’s preseason top 10 would look like this: 1. Cathedral 2. Center Grove 3. Carmel 4. Westfield 5. Brownsburg 6. Warren Central 7. Ben Davis 8. Hamilton Southeastern 9. Fishers 10. North Central -

Agree but I think you are actually being a bit too modest about your Irish. I’ve never bought into the “they are #1 until they are beaten” mantra. CG’s graduation losses are well known. Flip your top two and you are spot on. Splitting hairs I know. Good analysis. -
My bad. Missing context. Went back and read your original post. I thought you had meant they had applied AND been denied several times. Back to MIC news: Joe Walker (WR from Warren) commits to Western Michigan. And though many on here mock my loyalty to DT, I gotta call him out on this one. ”Pit Viper Sports” on Facebook compared Walker to former Warren great WR, Desmond Tardy. Only problem? Tardy was a QB.

I just don’t get it. The hate for @DT is unreal. Whether or not you agree with him, his intentions or his motives, he’s providing content and publicity to a damn high school message board in the offseason when the games are still over a month away…and people have the nerve to bitch about having to click, scroll or are inconvenienced by taking a couple of extra moments to find the content. Just put your dislike for the guy aside and approach it from an “any content is better than no content” perspective and you’ll be a much happier person. Or just keep scrolling. It’s not that hard.

2022 Duneland Athletic Conference Thread (DAC)

MC is 3-2 against Merrillville under Mason. Why do you continue to make statements that can be proven false with a quick internet search? ”17 D1 players.” -
Never said they “didn’t happen”, @Groverdid however. Also not telling you how you can and cannot feel. But my advice would be to base your feelings regarding two school corporations and communities on more substance than these isolated incidents that likely don’t represent the majority of either fanbase. It seems you are just searching for bulletin board material and attempting to play the disrespect card to motivate yourself. This also works both ways. The east/west side communities are often in the news for the wrong reasons. Would you want folks from the north/south side stereotyping you or the kids at Warren because a handful of folks act like fools?
-
So two parents and a Johnson County officer huh? Over 160k residents combined in the cities of Carmel and Greenwood and you paint the entire communities with a broad brush based on these isolated incidents? Every fanbase/town has its share of idiots and if these accounts indeed are true, they are unfortunate. But don’t let the handful of idiots represent and speak for the remainder of folks. You can’t say “feel about CG and Carmel” and then come back and say “not everybody is like that.” That’s not how it works.
