This conversation is a fun one and comes up frequently but after what we saw last night, how can you justify more/worse teams getting in? Cincinnati and Michigan are 3/4 and they got absolutely shredded by 1-2. What’s the point of allowing 5-8 in to do the same? It looked like a varsity vs a JV squad in those contests last night and the two teams left standing are obviously the best. I’d love it as a fan but after last night, I have pause.

Not disagreeing but the caliber of athlete you can recruit in Baton Rouge versus Notre Dame is night and day. You saw it in both semifinals tonight..Cincy and UM have a handful of dudes, UGA and Bama have dozens.

Dudes in the SEC are just different. It’s their sport.

Yep, only if Alabama and or Georgia lose tonight they won’t be able to use “the grind of the SEC” argument as they’ve had 4 weeks to prepare.

Depends on what your metrics are for making that statement.

SEC slappies will tell you all season “it just means more” (their tag line) but then minimize the stats you are referencing. I’ve already heard it. “Bowl games mean more to non-SEC teams as they give their best while our best opt out for the draft.” Personally, I’ve always hated March Madness/bowl games in determining conference strength. Levels of motivation vary and upsets happen. That being said, if Bama (or UGA) wins it all, the slappies will move the goalposts and use that metric. They always do. Gimme Bama to cover and Michigan for the out right win.

I think the Homestead boys are probably the best non-Indy 4a squad. This doesn’t bode well for the rest of the state come March.

Both defenses seemed to be “social distancing.”

Since our leaders and the MSM have chosen to villianize the unvaccinated and turn it into a cats vs dogs rivalry.

Kids pay a “transportation fee” at many schools around Indy. I can’t speak for other districts/areas of the state but I’m sure that fuel prices play a factor. I scoff at folks who claim CG to the HCC would be an inconvenience to the current member schools due to the travel time but simply put, central Indy schools have little to gain/price from traveling an hour plus. Everyone they need is in their backyard. (PS: I STILL can’t believe Hammond Morton thought it was a good idea to get on a bus and play Cathedral.)
