  2. I thought this field was on the other side of the old baseball field. Looking again at it.. I think this is exactly where the old baseball field was... softball and baseball are now where the old football stadium was.
  3. Silver Creeks football stadium looks great.
  4. We've already scheduled Floyd Central in JV week 3. (Our Pekin week for varsity)
  5. Link to BCHS youtube page. They will be streaming this season!!
  6. At the end of basketball season, BC had started YT broadcasts of games... (that was Jack Benter induced).... I am not sure if that'll carry over to football or not.
  7. My post wasn't a shot at OV, at all. Just... proximity, all that... in my eyes, I don't see that OV is some massive upgrade over Mitchell, in terms of a scrimmage... idk. I understand what you're saying, just building on that.
  8. I guess... why, respectfully? Like why would OV be a great opponent to have in a scrimmage and not Mitchell? Also.. who does OV scrimmage, currently?
  9. I would love for somehow BC/BNL to play week 1. That would be a very well attended game. Good gate for both schools.
  10. In a respectful way, imo, it would be negligent not to. I share clips all the time with my team, on hudl, about this exact topic. The clip will pause.. "Player A, you have to make sure your head is up when you are making contact here" for example. And, yes.. we've absolutely stopped practice to tell one of our kids "you can't hit like that" ... sometimes adamantly. But, as a rule... and this does go back to when I started playing football/having my dad coach me.. (2001)... 1. Helmet is not a weapon, nor is it there to initiate contact. It is there as safety. 2. See what you hit. Always keep your head up.
  11. IMO this is a must at the 4A level and up.. and probably 3A, as well.
  12. Yes. Passed off their assignments well. Active bunch.
  13. Its not the concussive blows that are the only detriment, though. Repeated blows are part of the concussion spectrum, as well. Sure those MASSIVE collisons, maybe the guardian cap doesn't prevent those individuals from being concussed... But there is simply no way, over time, a padded surface isn't consistently better than one that isn't. I'm also very confused by the Stanford article you post that has quotes like this... FWIW-- they only tested collusions that are head to head.. "The researchers were hesitant to support the cap, which costs about $50, but they noted that it's possible the cap provides some protection." "but on average the caps provided 15% to 20% more protection than blows to the head with only a helmet." Granted, this was based on one particular type of blow.. but still In my eyes, when we are talking about REAL people and not numbers... idk how you can read those two quotes and not say "Guardian Caps work". Literally.. "some protection" should be enough. Working doesn't mean "full proof".
