I don’t think anyone realizes that more than her … and she’s cashing in on it. Good for her! Fama caduca est (Fame is fleeting.)

I guess....but what does it have to do with sport in her case??  Does she need sports to earn her revenue?

I know exactly how the promotion/relegation mechanic works.  Read the wikipedia entry on the process, plus do some of your own research for once.

The promotion/relegation thing is interesting.  It works in english soccer for example because of a desire by players to be in the top league, but let's face it...its driven by $$.  The higher the league for a team, the more $$ alotted to them.  That in turn gives them better players, facilities, etc.

That doesn't play out with Indiana high school sports....more funds won't be alotted for an upper league (no motivation there) and I contend many teams would be more than content to "play down" if that increases their odds for trophies.  They certainly won't get less funding for "staying down".

Don't really see promotion/relegation apples to apples for professional vs. amatuer (in this case high school) sports.

Looks good but I still think CG and Carmel would dominate their conferences.

If you go with this I'd combine Southside and Mid-State into one.... South Central?  Move one in the Mid-State to the Sluthside and have 2 7-team divisions.

both IN Fan and your thoughts are very interesting and have merit.  Whiteland also has to be getting close to 6A and they are growing rapidly.

thanks....sounds like we had different experiences as it was more than comradery for my children and myself.  I guess my expectation is that good coaches should teach you more than the game, as most people will stop playing the game when high school ends, so what does a person really take with them to apply to life?  I don't think it matters if the entity is a private or public, as I think we'd all agree that much of education occurs outside of the classroom.  Maybe call it a tangible benefit, such as icing on a cake.

This is an example of a GREAT coach....he is teaching his team way more than the game of hoops.  This is something they will carry with them always.....

Yes, and yes.  And sure, there was team comradery and all that, but such things can IMHO better taught and instilled with other activities not sponsored by a government school.

Not sure "life lessons" should be part of the core missions statement of government schools.

I don't remember Bob indicating it was a core mission.....

I am not trying to be negative or argumentative in any way...just seeking to better understand what is behind your statement.  Question, did you or your children participate in high school athletics?  If so, did you not see that athletics teaches an individual and group of people way more than just the game itself?

I doubt they’re afraid to play anyone … but I get your point. 😉

Hats off to CG. First, St. Ed’s, now these guys. They play in 6A, Tennessee’s largest school division.

    Oakland High School - State Champs - 1984, 1998, 2008, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022

    State Runner-Up - 1988, 1989, 2016

I believe I read they finished the season last year ranked #37 MaxPreps

Make the Athletic Directors earn their pay. Scheduling conference games is easy.............

There are only so many 6A schools in the state.  I am sure the AD has reached out to them all along with many 5A schools.

From what I have learned, not been an issue scheduling contests for CG, other than football.

Colts release QB Matt Ryan, freeing up $17 million in salary cap space:https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2023/03/14/colts-release-qb-matt-ryan-freeing-up-17-million-in-salary-cap-space/70002832007/

    Another QB mistake gone.

Is there really a QB savior for the Colts in this year's draft?  Or should they go after Mr. Rodgers?

No to AR.....they have more holes than a QB and he knows the Colts are not SB ready.  He has a very short window and he's saying he's going to the Jets.  My guess is that they are freeing up $$ for the draft, trades or perhaps Lamar.

Sorry that you obviously have no family or friends. Or least none that will listen to you.

Somebody's angry.....(sorry, stole that line from you)

So I obviously have no family or friends.  Nah...that's not true.  I am blessed with great family and friends.  Perhaps, I just don't feel like I have an obligation to "educate them" with my own personal views.  Big difference.

Do you think anyone is truly listening to you??  On GID?

You don't find it a tad interesting that you feel obligated to share personal views, when you aren't required or even asked to donate a red cent or an second of your time for an investment??  Yet, you have "friends" that value your opinions anyway?  It may be worth some time to self-reflect and seek some feedback to ensure your views are indeed valued.

My tax dollars?  It probably won't effect them.

But it will possibly effect the tax dollars of friends and family living in or around Indianapolis.   And they need to be educated on the long term consequences of such government largesse.

    Thank you for your honesty....

Your friends are indeed fortunate to have you doing their thinking for them.  Shame they must lack the ability to educate themselves and draw their own conclusions

Yes, I believe I should have a say in how my tax dollars are spent.  Unlike you I don't blindly trust the government.

Not sure how you jump to extremes about trusting govt.  People can desire city improvements being sometimes led by local governments without "blindly trusting government".  Hard to have good dialogue with extreme comments and stereotyping.

Help me again to understand on this proposed cityof Indianapolis project how YOUR tax dollars are being spent......

I heard that in 2028 there is gonna be a weekend extravaganza between the MIC and HCC.  Here are the marquee Matchups:

    • Carmel (MIC) vs CG (HCC South) - 1st regular season Copper Kettle game since 2022
    • BD (MIC) vs Noblesville (HCC North) - Inaugural game for the Giant Wooden Jason Simmons
    • Decatur Central (MIC) vs Zionsville (HCC North) - The Dirty Bird
    • Tech (MIC) vs Cathedral (HCC South) - If Cathedral wins they play all home games at Tech in 2029

😁 All of this was supposed to be in purple....

I do actually really like this vision!!!
