I think his comment was in jest/sarcasm. Innocent on the criminal side....considered liable for the murders on the civil side.....and ordered to pay $33M. Always found that one interesting to say the least...... https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/13/us/oj-simpson-damages.html

huge learning curve in year one for any drafted QB...including year 1. I don't thnk Manning took the Colts to the playoffs in year 1. He also has to have the tools around him.

I am beginning to think you might just be CW's agent...... I am going to be a clear as i can....yes, some of William's past actions...have me question his maturity and overall leadership abilities and readiness. Questioning is not stating. Questioning causes me pause. Your Bears GM may feel totally opposite. Glad Herbie and McAfee are on board...but I bet if you use your favorite search engine, you will find others that have on and off-the field concerns. I am not sure I agree based on CW's performance last year an unbiased person would call him the best of his sport over the past 2 seasons....especially last season. That being said...hope you are correct and he's a great selection for your Bears. While I have pause due to concerns with leadership, doesn't mean the other decision-makers that count do. Again, not so sure why you are fixated on my thoughts. Good luck running the CW fan club....you never know...I may seek you out for membership information in the future. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/caleb-williams-doesnt-talk-media-following-ucla-loss-draft/ Williams is confident. That much is clear when he does interviews. As talented as he is, he has every reason to be confident. But we’ve seen confidence devolve when circumstances change at the NFL level, and that mental swing can be hard to recover from. When the meter turns, and it’s Williams’ turn to stand in front of the media after a tough loss, NFL evaluators will want to know if he can avoid controversy, preserve the team’s focus, and keep his own mental composure. Those concerns, as irrational and unvalidated as they may be at this point, are real among NFL decision-makers, who are charged with mitigating risk just as much as acquiring franchise-changing talent. For that reason, they can’t be dismissed. Teams in contention for the top quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft class may look at Maye on the other side of the aisle and see a QB who more closely exemplifies what they look for in a “face of the franchise” entity. Whether that’s right or wrong, things like front-facing composure, mental fortitude, and focus can make a difference for personnel executives and coaches who will be working with these QBs day in and day out.

Generational stereotype? Perhaps for sports...although I haven't seen it a ton. As I mentioned earlier, clearly not a taught or expected leadership trait for younger military leaders, especially in combat units.

Not a fan of you putting words in my mouth coach. First you insinuate I tabbed Williams with the term "Loser" now in this rant, you use the term "Poor Leader". Neither of were in print from me, so thanks for restraining your comments about my intentions with labeling Williams. I never used either of those terms and you know that. Obviously, I have struck emotion. I share this example as to whether or not would capture his locker room at the pro level if repeated, which is far different than outright calling him a poor leader. Is this enough to have some pause? For me, along with other recent actions on social media does cause pause. But hey...just sharing my "lazy" opinion. Which at the end of the day means very little...except obviously to you. Why, I have no idea.

I asked you a question and you avoided it. How many of the NFL great QB's have you seen go run to their parents and cry when an outcome of a game didn't go their way? (their final year of college) Never called him a loser...those are your words. I do question if this type of behavior is someone to invest their entire future on. I appreciate he cares about his team after a tough loss...then why not head to the locker room and demonstrate your care for the team in lieu of running to your parents alone to cry? I think its a fair question...obviously you don't, and it feels like I struck a nerve. Maybe my comment hit too close to home. My son is an Army combat leader...thank goodness, those young men don't publicly run to mommy and cry openly when things don't work out to plan. You won't find that "style" being taught....well, at least with the elite units.

Who's expecting a player to act like a robot? Kind of extreme response. I am sure there are countless examples of players emotional in a locker room together. But how many of the great NFL QB's have you seen lose it in the stands with their parents when the outcome of a game didn't go the way they wanted...in their final year of college? Instead of going to Mommy and Daddy, why not get with your teammates and go through the disappointment together? How about focusing on your teammates at that time? To me, that's the behavior of a leader...someone that put others before himself. But hey, we don't need to have the same expected traits of a leader....
-
Coach...no hatred for anyone, let alone a player that cries to his parents in the stands when they lose. Just not sure its the best way to show leadership and grab control of a locker room.....in the case of the NFL.....a locker room full of men. Perhaps that's where the painted nails come in.......😉

Perhaps....I have pretty certain in the case of CG, administration didn't seek individual's opinions on turf fields on GID before deciding on turf for football, soccer, baseball, etc. They certainly would have done their research, but just don't think they consider opinions of fans on GID. But, perhaps they are in the minority...... Now, do coaches visit GID and share opinions of various members? I can get my arms around that..... -

Do you think Administrators seek out GID as a viable source to help them with decision-making? That was my point. If they do, well, I just learned something. -
I am not anti-McCarthy...just discussing if the Rose Bowl (single game) was enough to vault him higher up the draft. I am with you on Williams...that is why my earlier comments about him to another member questioned his leadership abilities. When SC lost to Washington and he went over and cried to his parents in the stands, that did not capture the essence of leadership...as least for me.

Muda...you went dark on me. I not a reporting kind of guy and why put you on ignore? You put out some good stuff. I just find it surprising that you feel a need to sway others to your views. Be confident my man in your own views, and resist feeling the need for validation through conversion of others. As I said, even if you convert a person or 2, nothing will come from it on this site. Not the tree to bark up.... Got to be honest...i did get a slight chuckle that you thinking if you complain long enough, you will change the minds of various high school administrators around the state from investing in turf fields....do you truly believe they would see you both as a desired and credible source in their decision-making process? -

is it working for you? Do you have any converts? Even if you have had success converting people to your beliefs, what good is it doing on this forum? Bottom line, do you see high schools reducing their investments with turf because of your efforts? Chasing parked cars.... -
ok...made some good plays to help tie the game....big enough sample for you to project a future NFL 1st round pick that will have have a stellar NFL career? One TD in the entire second half and I believe the TD drive was the only sustained drive of that half.

But you have done this...over and over and over and over and over..............infinity symbol. We get your position. Most do not agree and you are not going to change anyone's mind. And even if you did gain a convert, what does it mean? Nothing will change as a result of this behavior on this particular forum. Its kind of like a dog chasing parked cars.... -
I was intrigued with your comment, because I only remembered one serious drive by UM in the second half. McCarthy did throw a 4 yd TD which was big as it tied up the game. I pulled up the drives in the second half drives for both teams. What stands out in your mind for McCarthy that would cause one to think, "wow, what a big time NFL QB?" Notice most of their possessions in the 2nd half were limited drives.....

Never said he wasn't a good leader. Yeah...his coaches cheated...that's on them, not him. Way not to disappoint with the expected jacka$$ery comments.....

First turf fields are unsafe and now they are a waste of taxpayer funds.... I am beginning to think you have personal investments tied up in the sod, grass seed, fertilizer and weed killer businesses.....😉 -
Let's hope....evidently not Dungy or the NFLPA..... https://www.si.com/nfl/2024/03/25/nfl-hip-drop-tackle-ban-nflpa-objections https://nypost.com/2024/03/21/sports/nfl-players-at-odds-over-controversial-hip-drop-tackle/ I think Dungy is right....a player now has 3 choices if he is behind the ball carrier......1) dive at him, which puts legs as a target and/or puts head back in play 2) grab hold and hold on for dear life 3) let him go

Never said that at all....just stating that I'm far more concerned about the size of my federal taxes than I am of my local tax. Far more.... -
Nothing personal Bob...but Dungy's resume gets my attention and his comment about physics. Sometimes, as you well know, there are unanticipated impacts with rule changes. I am not against the rule change...but sometimes it pays to listen to someone that knows his business.
