  1. Thanks...did not remember the time gap...makes sense
  2. I knew the 2nd one....Bob, I have to ask...what led him to leave ND for South Carolina? That one to me always felt like a step down.......
  3. His senior VCU profile in 2016-17 https://vcuathletics.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/mo-alie-cox/798 Don't think he was...looks like the game you were referencing was 2011. Mo was a frosh 2012-13. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/game/_/gameId/310792509/vcu-purdue
  4. Not the first Colts rodeo in this space....Mo Alie-Cox (BBall VCU) and Marcus Pollard (BBall Bradley). Both very productive NFL tights ends....not at the Gates level, but excellent ROI players.
  5. Years ago, I used to purchase the 10 game plan for the Washington Capitals. Still a big Caps fan. A big thrill for me was having great seats to see The Great One play when he was with the Kings. So smooth on the ice...just stood out as a skater. He scored and got an assist that night. Was also fun to watch his pal that followed him from the Oilers to the Kings serve as his protector/enforcer...Marty McSorley. Hard to believe Gretzky started his professional hockey career for the Indianapolis Racers.
  6. Looking like Colts and Jones agree on a 2 year deal for $88M. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/daniel-jones-colts-reportedly-agree-to-2-year-88-million-contract-extension-152222956.html
  7. No one will ever argue that legacy is defined on championships. So vote goes with Saban. I am just saying based on his sample at Michigan State, Saban does not perform to Cignetti's level following a very different path. Cignetti definitely paid a higher price to get to the promised land, and got there by turning a historical cellar dweller around. Something Saban never had to do during his tenure. Saban was 34-24-1 at Michigan State. His final year there, he did have a 10-2 record finishing in the top 10. He was 23-16-1 in Big 10 play, going 0-3 in bowls. Respectable for sure...but nothing like Cignetti.
  8. Don’t disagree if you measure by championships only. But would Saban win at all levels like Cig? Would he have turned around IUP, Elon, and JMU? Would he have immediately made JMU successful their first year in FBS? Would Saban had won 11 games in his first year at IU and taken them to the CFP? Would he have won the Big 10 title, Rose Bowl and Natty in his second year at IU? Saban was solid at Michigan State, but nothing like what Cig did at IU. Saban won with incredibly talented rosters with traditional power house teams at LSU and Bama. Their journeys have been very different.
  9. Not sure who is the best....Cig sure had to pay his dues for a long time. I know Saban thought Cig was out of his mind to leave his staff at Bama for a DII head coaching job at IUP. The relationship between those 2 puzzles me. Doesn't seem like a ton of love. Saban openly said Cig talked too much last year when trying to build the culture and respect for IU. This entire season, Saban time and time again picked against IU in the big games. Doesn't seem to compliment Cig and the program much. Given the years Cig toiled at IUP and IAA (Elon and JMU before taking JMU to FBS) doesn't seem like Saban was really helping him rise up the ladder. Thankfully and selfishly, Cig caught his first break in a Power 4 conference on a bottom dweller and quickly flipped things around. Just doesn't seem like a joyous friendship between former asst and head coach. My guess is Cig loved laying it to Bama in the Rose Bowl.
  10. wasn't he a 1st round pick? Never lived up to it with the Shoe
  11. I think it is about bringing Jones back...he and Pierce are extremely close and Pierce had commented he wouldn't resign without knowing a quality QB was locked down. I think unloading Pittman and others is about having the funds to pay Jones. Now will they pay Jones the $50M/year he is seeking? I don't think so, but it will be $40M/yr plus. Crazy money for a 1/2 season of good play.....but as Coach says....its a QB league.
  12. Good to know...that would put college football on its head if true
  13. Perhaps the union may then wish to stipulate higher payouts for games in which states have higher income tax. If because of the timeframe, Cali state taxes apply, then perhaps the pay should be higher for Super Bowl participants to offset the impact of the higher taxes. Another option is to only have the Super Bowls in more tax friendly states. It would see the NFL does have some options so players don't come out on a losing end for being amongst the best teams in a given year.
  14. I don't care who New Pal or any other teams play...I have zero skin in the game. I do think it makes sense to have an end in mind when scheduling...especially opponents that are considered to be significantly more talented. Perhaps its measuring oneself against the best...I am not sure. Getting beat soundly (not saying this is the absolute outcome) hopefully is for a reason. Frank Beamer, while coaching at Murray State said it best prior to a game against Alabama....."Alabama needs a win, we need a new weight room."
  15. What a gem…..
  16. From Jerome…..
